BrokenArrow, this JD is my first tractor. Around here JD rules, and I have to say it's probably because of the good dealers. I looked at orange and blue also (and Branson, but they didn't have a hydro). The nearest Kubota dealer was awful and the closest good one was 75 miles away so that and the fact that I didn't care for orange ergonomics put them at the bottom of my list. It came down to blue vs. green for me. I liked the TC33D quite a bit but the 7308 loader was a little weak and there were things I wanted that NH didn't offer (top-and-tilt, spark arrestor). Since the JD dealer was superb I went green. No complaints at all, but I'm sure I would have been happy with NH as well.

So I am assuming that the dealer may or may not have a dyno and do the break in's.?
At one point a few years back we were putting 50 tractors a day out the door (we are doing 24 a day this month) at the factory,
50x5=250 hours on dyno's, LOL No they are not run on one from the factory. I will have to check, I know we do run tractors on our dyno's but I think it is more like an sbc audit type deal or when we do have the problem engine. Other than that it pretty much sits idle for the better part of the week. I work in the tool and die room and only get out on the floor when a fixture or tool breaks down so I am not too knowlegeable on exact production specs of the tractors coming off the line.

I just found a 2001 Cub Cadet 7265 with a 72" mower deck and a 72" back blade offered for sale at $10,000.

How does that rate on the "good deal" scale?

I bought a 58" CCM tiller about 3 weeks ago. Extremely satisfied with it. It appears well built and does a good job.

DR, you are right. I screwed up. Total weight is 2825+1047 (bh) +789 (FEL)=4661 lbs. So I would exceed tow limit of the Jeep by 500 lbs or so. Also depends on whether I was dropping the backhoe for another attachment like brush chopper. Hmmmmmmmm.

I am reluctant to drive the tractor to my Mother's place. I would have to use some state highway and some windy roads with blind spots. I imagine I could exceed the tow limit by a few hundred lbs for such short distances. That's why I would have to go with a minimum trailer. Would 16 feet suffice?

A couple of other questions - from seeing concrete blocks rigged on blades in the past, I assume the heaviest blade the tractor can lift is desirable. A previous post makes this point about box blades. One dealer recommended a blade one foot wider than the tractor for my ditching work. That also seems to agree with a previous post. Comments?

Century, "Zetor by Century" and Branson are all made by Kukje in South Korea. Zetor in the Czech republic makes the Zetor utility tractors. American Jawa imports Century and �Zetor by Century�. Kukje owns Branson Tractor LLC the US importer of Branson. As the Century tractors switch over to the engine that Kukje is selling to Cummins the name is changing to "Zetor by Century". At some point in the future the Century name will be dropped and it will only say Zetor. I am sure Wayne at Middendorf will take good care of you (if that is where you planed on purchasing). American Jawa is the exclusive importer of the C-50/C-50HL loader, which is made in the Czech Republic and is only available on Century or the "Zetor by Century". Hope I did not cufuse you more. for re seeding your lawn i would not recomend buying any thing but rather rent a 3pt over seeder which basicly sets the grass seed under the soil for better germination but then there are alot of times your lawn dose not need reseeded but rather dethached and ariated

I have two 54" buckets for my TC24D...a dirt bucket and a light materiels bucket. They are both "heavy duty". One is simply larger than the other.

Tractor is dying when RPMs are lowered quickly from say 2800 rpms to 1000 rpms. When the tractor dies the fuel knob has to be pulled out two or three times quickly before the tractor will restart. Cleaned the fuel filter which was OK and checked for air in system by bleeding. Tractor runs ok at a constant rpm with tiller. Just dies when rpms are lowered quickly? Anyone ever had this problem or know what might be up with fuel pump?

Getting the water & antifreeze in without a pump is not very hard. There is a valve (cost under $10) that screws onto the water hose and threads onto the valve stem of the tire. Place the tire so the valve stem is at 12:00, remove the valve core to reduce air pressure. I poured the antifreeze into the hose (hardest part) before hooking up to the water source and let the water pressure push the water and antifreeze in. Replace valve core and maintain normal air pressure. There might be a much easier and better way to do this, but it worked for me and was very inexpensive. Hope this helps.

The most important thing to look for when buying plastic is the UV rating. It does not matter if it is clear or black if your use is only to keep it dry. Here in Durango we use clear plastic with UV protection to kill Ips beetles in the wood. The clear plastic transfers more heat to the wood. The black plastic may feel hotter but it will not transfer as much heat as the clear. Clear acts just like a greenhouse.

Bought a humidifier at Sears a couple years ago for 99.99 or sometning in that range, and the clerk was almost insulted that I would'nt buy the 29.99 extended warranty to cover me 2 yrs beyond the regular warrany.
