We have a Miracle Truss building coming in May, 30 x 48 x 14 eave. I did the standard exhaustive research and all things considered I chose them. So far the service from John Turner and the rest has been outstanding. We have all the assy info, approved drawings, detail info, and things such as that already. Most of the various corners, overhangs, joints, paint process is superior to most metal bldgs. Plus with the cost of steel going up, glad we acted when we did. We bought in November of last year, put down $2500 and upon receiving, inspection, and acceptance of material in May will send the driver away with balance.

Ref cost of steel again: look for a company that may have some packages that were already made B4 (alleged) rate hikes. Possibly something someone bought and decided to go bigger or elswhere. Miracle Steel prompted me a bit in November when they caught wind of steel pricing. At this point it's appreciated.

I bought mine from the local lumber company (William in Rhinebeck NY) for $10 each. They came in bundles of 16 - I needed 80 total for the poolyard extension project in my pics.

I was using my FEL to move some shale from a pile in the yard and I wasn't getting much in the bucket compared to earlier in the day. I finally remembered that I took it out of 4 wheel drive to go accross the yard and never put it back in 4 wheel drive. The loader just wouldn't do much unless it is in 4 wheel drive.

Springer you might try going to: http://www.machinerylink.com . That will give you a value on the tractor, you'll have to look up the implement info. somewhere else.
I'd be interested in the Box Blade but I think you are to far away to make it cost effective.

By the way why are you getting rid of it? I have a 7234, excellent tractor.

Do you have a dealer for used Japanese imported tractors nearby? I believe that the Japanese farmers use tillers exclusively and most of those imported also come with tillers.

I stopped at a local dealer in Minnesota and he had three of them for sale on his lot. I didn't check price though. Also, they may be simply worn out.

The lift capacity on the 2210 is sufficient for it's bucket capacity. It has the power to lift 5 cu. feet of soil and that is what the bucket holds.

If you are planning a lot of PHD time a taller tractor might be a better buy. Don't overlook a small TLB package like the BX23. You don't need a PHD if you have a backhoe with a 10" bucket. That PH auger will get deflected or stalled on buried rocks that the BH can just scoop out.

Any thoughts on the price for a JD 870, 2WD, with 503 hours? I bought it from the original owner eight years ago and its been garaged since I've owned it, and is in very clean condition.<br>

You did not indicate there was any noise prior to this problem, The comment about slippage has me confused as the transmission has no clutches, I think you have a bent or broken shifting fork or the pin has come off the rail.. You can check this by removing the cover, be careful and do not tear the gasket, raise it up just a couple of inches and you should be able to tell...good luck

I see car's that are coming out now listed as 2005' models but are they? tractors are a little different then cars as they normally stay with one model 5 years or more. The only difference would be some makes seem to have more updates then others so maybe an early run tractor might have had to have updates added to it.

peter the reason you don't see JD cutter is that it fails to be the lowest bidder. Just remember that anything government owned is the lowest bidder so its probly not the best you can get.

I know people do what Blueman said but serious injuries happen too. Augers are about the most dangerous of implements and I don't want anybody near one that's in operation. Easy for me to say I guess since I have easy dig sand for the most part, but I'd use sandbags if I needed down-pressure. Lots of people get their hands caught between frame members when taking augers on or off the tractor so be careful When dismounted they are really awkward things.

In addition the what's been said I'll add a bit. Be sure the shear bolts are the right grade. An auger can really bang a hitch around. I start at slow rpm's and the increase to pto rpm when the hole is going well. Some holes want to take off at an angle. I dig in my loader bucket and move the tractor a bit carefully with the bucket curl if needed to keep the hole going vertically. I take a 5' tempered pry bar and clamshell digger with me so I can break up and remove the inevitable pieces of rock that broke a pin.

I didn't take quite enough care marking my fence line and post locations. I compounded the problem by not starting the auger point exactly where I marked. I had to shave the sides of a fair number of holes to get a straight fence. Straight fences are next to godliness

Could be a problem but I hope not. Some similar conditions have been fixed up nice and easy with something like Marvel's Mystery Oil. If there aren't any bad sounds it might be good to bet on 'stuck rings,' which can be cleared up by an additive. However, if the engine is making bad sounds or labouring I don't think I'd want to run it long enough for an additive to work.

I'd likely try it with my box scraper because that's what I have. Unlike Bill I drive along the ditch with heavy tilt and an outside scarifier extended. It doesn't work great and a blade would be better. A offset blade that is tilted and angled forward should cut it but good front traction is needed.

My scraper is 1' wider than the rear tire tracks so I have some offset and I'm cutting pit run or sandy soil. Even so I don't know if I could get 12" x 3' ditches without doing it like Bill did. For something that wide I'd have to cut on both sides of the swale and my drive goes through a cut so I can't drive where I'd need to--that might be a problem for a blade as well. The ditches I cut are more like 6" x 1", which really is just the corner of the scraper.
