Did this just suddenly happen or was there a problem before. Does it make any difference if you are in high or low range and do you have any problems with forward movement in either range ....

Hi loghouse95....Thanks for your responce....I dont have any problem, moving forward in any range....it feels like something is slipping in reverse...Is there a separate reverse clutch? Thanks for any help in this problem...leftyc ....

Make sure that your hydraulic fluid is at the proper level.
this can be checked using the dip stick at the rear of the tractor. If it is low it may go forward but not reverse. ....

You did not indicate there was any noise prior to this problem, The comment about slippage has me confused as the transmission has no clutches, I think you have a bent or broken shifting fork or the pin has come off the rail.. You can check this by removing the cover, be careful and do not tear the gasket, raise it up just a couple of inches and you should be able to tell...good luck ....

I'll mention a warning that is in my manual that may be relevant. It says to be careful when removing the TX top-cover because part of the safety switch can fall off and into the TX case. It'd likely be hard to retrieve it and the same for a missing fork pin. It's good to have a manual even when doing simple things. I've never had much luck saving gaskets that have been there awhile and something like 'Form a Gasket' might be good to have around. I've also put in many hours cleaning gasket surfaces. They leak if they're aren't put back together clean. Maybe it's old style but I also wipe the surfaces with grease before reassembling.
I'm curious about the TX. From the description it sort of sounds like a HST that uses gearing rather than hydraulics for reversing. In some linkages, a worn detent ball could prevent shifting into reverse but I think they more often tend to pop out of gear. ....
