I guess I am not sure how the oneace knows that the shaft is CNC machined and that it is definately abuse. Many of these type of propellar shafts are cast or forged to reduce the cutting required and allow surface hardening of the bearing surfaces. Many of the splines I have seen were ground not machine cut, it is difficult to cut harden material. They were producing these shafts long before the advent of CNC, I would not guarantee that the shafts are not cut on regular mechanically controlled lathe and grinders. Routine cuts are easy to set up for repedative motions.

I do know that the new blue agracat tractors are just about the same as the long landtrac. These tractors are labled with the LG symbol.

Just mounted my new PHD onto the tractor Sunday afternoon. After a few minutes of commenting how great it looked hanging off the back of the tractor, it was time to do family stuff. I have 125 holes to poke, Ill be watching this thread closely. Hopefully we can both learn something.

I have used both and I really like the mmm on my B6200. It's much more maneuverable, the overall machine length is shorter, and deck removal is not all that bad. I take the deck off in winters for added clearance and use my back blade for snow. Regarding quality of cut, I have absolutely no problem getting the deck level-when I'm done mowing the finished jod looks great! Before I go, Chief mentioned something about blade tip speed on a rear mower. I believe the tip speed in RPM is the same as shaft speed. Whats different is the angular velocity (distance per unit time). However, a slow blade is still a slow blade, meaning ground speed of tractor is important.

Rear blade with tilt will do a decent job. Sounds like your soil is sandy gravel which would be perfect soil to cut with a tilted grader blade. Added drainage to a couple of 200 ft drives at the vacation home that way, worked great. If you have hydraulic tilt ( I don't ), would make the work even easier. Would allow you to contour the swale just the way you want it. Have fun.

I have owned Landpride and Bulher (FarmKing) in finish mowers. I have a BushHog brush cutter. There are a number of years difference in the age of the Bulher and Landpride, but I looked at the new Landpride but went with the Bulher. My BH dealer does not carry the finish mowers?

the brand new tz 24 is the comparabel size. but value for the money and return on your investment I would go with a class 1 tractor like the nh tc 21, or 24 the 0 , or .5 class depending on manufature are a new class of tractor and resale is not yet that predictable

I've been very happy with my CK. I've pushed some snow, bush hogged with both a 4' and 5' cutter, done some grading with a rear blade and rake, some front end loader work and some mowing. I've got 32 hours on it to date. It has done everything well that I've wanted to do with it. The only problem I've had and it was minor was one hydraulic fitting dripped a little. Half a turn with a wrench fixed that. I'm glad I got it.

Ok, now I am worried. I've settled on the BX23 and am looking forward to using the BH on my clay soil (trying to save my back). I've run heavy equipment and I know this is not the same but I was hoping that I could dig some h20 trenches etc.

most dealers are between 58 and 62 dollars an hour. depending on how nice your salesman is is how much your going to pay for anything when a sales man cuts a deal it comes out of his/her commission.

i was quoted 13,600 for 3130hst ,r4 tires. loader about 4000 more i think. bought a L3830HST, r4, folding rop from CORRIHER (they have a kubota, jd store also) delt with montey over the phone, great people to deal with, they deliverd to my door. for 16,250 plus 1.00 a mile (only 75 for me) the only thing they forgot was my new hats to keep the sun out of my eyes. ran accross this site linked, best prices quoted was real close to this.

It is hard to tell what she meant, but one thing is for sure. She didn't mean she doesn't care. :-) When my lady says something like that it usually implies "...as long as you buy me some jewelry."

Just made an internet deal on a Super C today. Will go to inspect it and perhaps finalize the deal on Friday. Will be looking at a few cheap parts, clean-up and spray can paint job real soon. This will be my plowing tractor for spring. Next year, a full restoration, if things go well.

Good luck on the 8/9 N. For some odd reason, old tractors make me happy.

Everyone who responded here has a valid point. Money drives technology as much as technology advances society. Many American's who think of the man who owns a tractor, thinks of that man as a stereotype. Perhaps, at best, a hayseed, lacking in intellect and earning his pay through drudgery. As those who posted here prove, that image is false. I am proud to tell my friends about this site because of the depth of the discourse, and the quality of the people who share this forum.

Education of the buying public will, I am afraid, come too late. So long as the products that are sub-standard, shoddy, ill-fitting, or just plain wrong continue to be purchased in sufficient quanities, the cycle will continue.

The suffering brought home by the events of Setember 11, 2001, should have been sufficient to awaken America's resolve. But it has not. ENRON, and the others that failed, should have been sufficient to put into motion the wheel of change. That has not happened to any great extent that I am aware of. So the public keeps on spending that shrinking paycheck on, well, for lack of a better word, garbage.

It is always dangerous to speak for others, however, the others I am speaking for now have gone on record in this forum as being dollar wise, acutely aware of the work required to earn a day's pay, and how easy it is to lose that pay if not careful. Our fellow North American's included, it is the person who wants to be an educated buyer, a person who wants to be efficient in work, a person who want's to be safe, that is the person who comes here. A far more enlightened bunch than the porker filling up on super-size meals or the latte slurping narcisus who thinks freedom is free for the taking.

Rear blade will work fine for snow etc. front blade, if available, is preferred because you do not have to keep looking back. The Jinma tractors hp is generally rated at the PTO. Japanese tractors give the horspower rating in the name, for example a Hinomoto E222 is 22 hp at the PTO, with the third 2 representing that it is a 2 wheel drive. So if the third number were a 4 the tractor would be a 4 wheel drive. Minimum for bailer is 30hp, go larger is you can afford it. With parts readily available for these tractors, recommend that you shop for best price, as they are all the same, and lowest cost shipping. Have fun

Blizzard, great link. Thanks! ACZO, thanks for keeping me straight on perforated vs solid pipe. TomG and Hardwood - thanks for the additional info on slope. I will be working closely on the pitch and may not backfill over the pipe until I watch the flow during some storms. I have time to play with this. I like the 1/2 bubble on a four foot level rule of thumb. Nice and simple.
