The high-output unit seems the best solution. With 400W available you will have great night visibility. When I added extra lights, I did finally put a relay in the circuit after the fuse. This allowed a more direct run of heavy wire to the lights. Also the aftermarket toggle switches I am was using didn't seem to last (165W load). I think all we have to do is stop giving away the joint, have some real border protection, make illegal entry a crime (with punishment), punish those who hire illegals.<br>

They make it sound like it is impossible to get rid of many of the illegals. How many illegals are pulled over or stopped on the street for minor offense. A part of the normal "check" should be for status in this country. All you have to do is add another field in all of our state motor vehicle records for citizenship or date your visa expires. No status = no ticket, you just go to the local INS office and yer gone!<br>

If you committ a serious offense you go to jail and then get escorted to the border with a promise of draconian punishement if you EVER return.<br>

With these work and student visas, if we can't get rid of them at least make these folks check in once in awhile so we know where and what they're doing. If they don't check in, bang...issue a warrant.<br>

This is all a pipe dream however, our gutless politicians don't care about us because we vote independently, where the special intert vote as a block. W eget split 50-50 for both major parties while both of these parties give away the house hoping they will gain more of this flood of potential.....voters (damn it even hurts to say that)!

A note to all:
I wanted to thank everyone here for puttin up with all my generic questions. I usually have a pretty good idea of the answers but often throw a question out there because I always seem to learn a new angle or info I did not know. I dont want to make a mistake with a purchase like this (large amount of money) so I will have many more questions in the next week or so. I promise you all that in a few months I will be able to help out with my own experiances with these cuts. Right now I have only experiance with my old 8n ford and any tractoe that i may have borrowed, LOL. I do work at Case/new holland, so if anyone has any questions about the plant I work at let me know.

Thanks Tom and Mad for your comments and pictures. Your pictures have given me some good ideas. The looking backwards question is relevent, except I have a 3-point position indicator that will be mounted by the valves. Since the 7800 was robbed of postion control, I have a device that will indicate the exact postion of the 3-point without looking back. The angling position indication of the implement with the hydraulic link will take some thought, but I beieve I can solve it and include in the mount. I have too much manuvering to do, so getting the implement back to an exact position is important.

Not to be a smart a$$ but If you dont plan on towing, why are you looking at an F350?
An F150 will easily tow 5000lbs all day and occasionally 7000 to 8000lbs for a limited time.
Unless you need the four door and an 8ft bed, I would get an F150 (I like the looks of the 150s over the 250s and 350s better anyway) with 5.4 & 4.10s. The reason for the 4.10s. If you dont like the RPMs on the highway, put one or two sizes larger tire on it and it will look better and still have good power. If you start towing more often, go back to the factory sized tires and get you power back.
If youre set on an F350, get the big engine because the truck weighs quiet a bit more than the 150 and the resale on the V10 or diesel will be much better.
I have an F350 dually w/7.3PS & 4.10s (with dumpbody).
I like it for what I use it for (its a dumptruck) but I wouldnt want the diesel or 4.10s (unless I put larger tires on it)as a daily driver.

I have the opportunity to purchase a Massey Harris Pony. I think it was a '52 or '54, gas engine, original sheet metal, runs excellent, and the owner still has the original owners manual and sales receipt. A home-made loader was added many years ago, and it lifts and lowers but the dump is self dumping with a handle and cable. It is only a 24" manure style bucket with teeth.<br>

The seller has kept it indoors, it is in great shape for 50+ years, and he is asking $1500. <br>

Is this a fair price and is there a collectable aspect to this particular tractor?<br>

Golly...sometimes a thing is so obvious it gets overlooked-I'll talk to my dealer. I've read about various custom TnT installations with cylinders, valves, etc. from other sources. I think all I need is the cylinder and hoses since I already have the remotes? Does the Kubota cylinder come with check valves? Do I need this? Any idea of a list (ballpark) price? Thanks for the reminder.

imagine that it would not be enough on 3 AC.,perhaps someone<br>

I have a customer with a BX22 Kubota and he loves it. He mows about 5 acres and the rest is woods with a stream that is about 10' across which he crosses regularly except during the spring thaw or during heavy rain periods as the stream can get up to about three foot deep. The advantages of the larger tractor frames is little as you are still going to have to use a 60" deck so the BX would be the best for trimming with it's stocky wheel base. You do need to take your own measurements for ground clearance as some go off the absolut lowest point and some go from a higher point that is the full width. For the difference in the price you could maybe get the backhoe.

In all honesty, I do not live full time at the place I will keep the tractor. For the next few years anyway. So for the most part a real high percentage of the time it will be used for farm related activities. I described my uses for the tractor to a dealer last night (in person) like this, I will be using the tractor for field work for the most part disking, cutting fields, plowing (when needed) and planting along with helping pick the rocks and keeping the trails in good condition. Now would you say that sounds like farm/agriculture use? I would and he did not say one thing to me about declaration of use. Infact
he added up the $1,060 dollar tax and put it in the estimate. When I got home I recieved a call from anouther dealer I have been in contact with, he is the one that told me that my uses for the tractor was farm related and I should not pay the tax. Gee which dealer do you think I am leaning towards now? This guy even told me that if I am in the area and it is on a sunday, to call him and come over to his house to visit. Talk about friendly!! I will be the first to say that I just about never break laws (knowingly) so I was skeptical, then I began to think and told myself, "hey he is right, it will be bought for the use of my 160 acre parcel, (I think in the south west they call them ranches, just a few 1000 more acres to em!)

You can shift the pto in at full speed if you want. The shock load will hurt the mower as well as the clutches. It's your call they just give you guidelines for longevity! The same holds true for the Glideshift transmission. We do have people shifting at or near full throttle for different reasons. It really is your call. You can also start off with a gear drive car or truck at full throttle to and your tire dealer will love you!

New Holland provides support for Ford tractors. I think NH is getting a little spotty on its support for Fords but manuals may be available.

Yes, wind chill only applies to exposed skin. But I read that DennoA is concerned maybe the fluids will never warm up much with frigid temps. and a strong wind. Moving air reduces the boundary layer that insulates us, and metal too. Just disconnect your fan on a warm day.....
