I purchased a King Kutter II, 60" tiller from TSC about 4 years ago.
Price was around $1050, tills excellant, no problems so far and any and all parts are easy to get through TSC or order through the King Kutter web site and have them mailed to your front door.

I think the most sensitive 'beaver battlers' have migrated to another board, the ones that remain have taken successfully completed their sensitivity training.

We are now only sensitive about certain types of bears and tractors, some odd variety of colour-blindness....LOL.

1725 is very like the tc29 with no adjustable seat or steering wheel.No rear wheel lock. It is the year before they changed to the tc name. I have one and love it.I have FEL and BH for $12500

That was certainly a selling point for me to go to above the entry level tractor.... I really like the position control on my 4115.

When I had the stop/drop system like yours on the BX22 I was working on a guide rod for the 3 point that would function like the rod on Deere FEL's. I didn't get too far with it before I decided to sell the tractor.

I think a visual gauge is a better way to go than a limiting chain.

I remember when I was in college, they used to use John Deere gators with plows and salt spreaders on the back to clear and salt the side walks. They worked pretty well until the snow got too deep. I like the compact tractor as I can push snow with the FEL or pull with the blade on the back. We don't really get enough snow where I live (maybe 70 or 80 inches a year) to justify a blower. We did get a nice snow last year (about 30") but the little B-7200 I had pushed it out of the way, although the going was slow.

I think I would go with the 60" deck for trailering reasons as well as versatility getting around things. Hydrostat is a given as it reduces mowing time. I think 4wd would be a nice addition since you are going to use it for things other than mowing. I had a B-7200 and tried to pull a tree in 2wd and it would just spin with the turfs, but put it in 4wd and it didn't even break traction. I think I would stick with diesel too as the mileage seems to be much better.

When I bought my B-7800, I also purchased tire chains for my R-4 tires. The cross chains are every two links to prevent them from going into the tread of the tire and rendering the chains useless. I noticed that I didn't get any tightners with the chains. On my B-7200 they sold me tightners with the chains. Do I need to use tightners and if so, what type of tightner should I use? It doesn't seem like the tightners used on cars are heavy enough. On my old man's Massey Ferguson we took a large washer and drilled holes around it and used old trampoline springs for tightners and they worked pretty good. I may just use the same type setup on mine as Huricane Isabel destroyed my little girl's trampoline and thus I have extra springs!!!

We build our own from a standard hydraulic cylinder with 'tang-style' ends and a couple of hoses and couplers, powered from the tractors remote.

They're not rocket science.

They should cost about $100 each, maybe more if you don't know where to buy the parts at the right price I guess.

I don't understand why they're not standard equipment, there is very few implements their NOT really handy with, almost everything I use is connected to one.

That was exactly my point Murf. If you cause enough ripples in a polite manner, policies have a mysterious way changing a little. The key is to be nice and use words as opposed to being angry. If you go to the dealer and stay very persistent out where the other customers can see you, they may fix the part instead of risk losing potential customers.

What is my 1958 MF 50 with newer loader and box scraper worth? It runs and starts great but governor doesn't work and 3 point falls slowly after engine is off. Paint is bad.

A common trick that is the norm around here is to pack the first few inches of snow by driving over it and packing it into a layer an inch or so deep. After a short time this will freeze into a thin layer of ice. A little light coloured sand (dark sand warms up in the sun and melts the ice) on top will help if it gets too slick.

This does two things, it keeps the aggregate on your driveway and off your lawn, and it prevents the freeze/thaw cycle that can cause a LOT of heaving and damage, not to mention mud, in your driveway.

Besides, a little bit of ice goes a LONG way to preventing wear on the parts of the plow or blower that run against the ground.

Chuckles, you won't be sorry. It will be love at first drive. Get some wheel weights for the rear tires to help with the snowblowing traction.
