Dave,<br>We also have 2 acres of yard. When our 12hp AC was showing signs of wear, we started our search. Looked at a Honda 6522, JD 4100, MF 1225, Kubota B2100,B2400. Would have looked at NH, but dealer location wasn't convenient, and held an attitude All units had good and not so good point, of which became a little confusing. So we made a list of what we needed the unit to do, what we would like the unit to do, and what we MAY do in the future. Next we listed what we liked/Disliked about each unit and put the winner of each category into each individual requirement. Amazing how this quickly eliminated a few contenders. The choice became clear,and best of all it was made based upon function, not color or bias. In our case, we ended up with the tractor that seemed least likely to win, and quickly eliminated the one thought to be a sure winner. Proving that other people's opinions aren't always the best investment. Making a list might seem a little corny, but we don't just have $15 grand sitting around, therefore I wanted to be sure I spent Our money wisely. That list is what put things in perspective, and kept the bells & whistles as only a bonus, not a deciding factor. Oh, to answer your question, we have 0 regrets about our choice on a JD4100.

Can someone help ?? I am considering trading in my JD 950 for either a JD 4600 or a Kabota 4300 with hydro.<br>I was very dissappointed in the quality of the JD 4000 series. You can never go wrong with an OEM filter! However, Fleetguard, owned by Cummins, produces very high quality filters for the aftermarket.

Guys: From another dealers standpoint: I can understand how you feel. We are disgusted too as dealers, because we have a large demand but little supply. We have sold 12 4000's this year...which is more compacts than we have sold in the last 4 years combined..and we dont have a large draw for compacts. My point is, this has been such a popular product, Deere wasnt even prepared for it! Alot of people could have had a 4000 earlier in the year if they would not have been on here trying to find out the lowest price. Now, not everyone! Yes, six months is too long to wait. And yes, Kubota has an excellent product. Everyone on here has alot of good points. I just think Deere never figured this 4000 line was going to be such a hit!!!

Let me guess your dealer just happens to <br>have a Green mower deck that costs a little<br>more than the Landpride. I have a 2560 and<br>use it with a Ford 1500 with 17 PTO hp you <br>have 20 PTO hp. I have not had a problem with<br>powering mine. I only wish I had gotten the <br>rear discharge.

Yes, I did change filter (currently uses the exact same filter # as a Ford pickup!). To increase hydraulic speed of operation I also switched to John Deere's recommended winter hydraulic oil, which I now keep in the system year around (John Deere service advisor says this is OK as long as I don't plan to take it out in hot weather conditions and work it VERY heavily for several hours unabated). This did help increase flow somewhat. A John Deere parts department employee discovered the difference in oil manifolds between early and later models (he gave me oil an filter for a later tractor thinking it would fit, but it didn't, so he looked further into the situation and discovered the difference.) John Deere evidently discovered the problem with early production models and quickly changed manifold design and filter so as to eliminate the

Seeing that the subframe is available for your tractor and is only slightly more costly than a 3 p.t. mounting kit, There shouldn't be any question about it. The subframe attaches to your tractor easier than the 3 p.t., and is much stronger. However, if for any reason you decide to get the 3 p.t., don't forget to order the heavy duty toplink bracket from kubota (order part numbers 70050-93861, 70050-94384, 70050-94385 for your tractor) good luck. I have difficluty using the rear blade without 4WD engaged. I dont know how a loader behaves on this machine, never used it.<br> 90 percent of time it is used with rotavator in rose fields. It saves a lot of labour. Its a great machine but here in PAKISTAN its parts are not available so the repairing mechanics have to improvise. A major design flaw in my opinion in these machines is that Hydraulic pump, diesel pump, water body and alternator are all integrated into engine block, making repairs difficult in some cases impossible, although I think that Kobuta engineers might say that its not a bug but a feature.<br> Can anybody tell me with which models were B6100 and B7100 replaced by Kobuta ? I use my loader just as hard as it will work. The only restriction is that I never ever ram anything with it. I just pull up<br>and use the power of the hydraulics and the traction on the tires to do whatever it can be forced to do. With digger<br>teeth on the bucket and chains on all four tires I will work that tractor in rocky soil and crumbly granite just as hard<br>as it will work. It is not unusual to hear the loader frame groan and see by the twist that it is under tremendous <br>stress. Like I say, I work it this way because that is the ground that I have. After 18 years of this, the loader frame<br>is not bent and I have not broken a single factory weld. I have had to reweld the sides of the bucket several times<br>just above where the cutting edge wraps around. The metal keeps tearing there. Probably the result of my habit of<br>prying out rocks by hooking them with one corner of the bucket and lifting with all hydraulics while inching the tractor<br>forward. If there is any harsher formula for stressing a loader I don't know what it is....Well, I do! It would be running<br>into things. As I said, I will not do that.<br> And I will say that I feel much more comfortable using a loader that has a complete subframe going from the front<br>of the tractor all the way to the rear axle housings. That series NH was manufactured by Shibura. They do have their own web site (I've been there before, but I don't recall the address.

Bob<br>I thought of that too, but I have not been able to find a nice used AG tractor for sale by an individual or on a dealers lot around here. Something has happened to cause that size tractor to be scarce in this area. The people that have them don't want to sell them. I did find some NH 3930 models, but they are priced around $15000. I wanted a new tractor, I plan to retire back to the farm next year, this will be the last tractor for me.<br>Anyway its not a problem now, I traded for a new still in the box NH 3415 this morning. Considering what I had in my Kubota, I got the 3415 for $12265 complete with canoply and the large AG tires (14.9-26), so I'm well pleased. <br>Does anyone know who makes the NH 20 series tractors? I know they are made in Japan, but not who by.<br>Thanks for the reply<br>

I'm looking at a used Kubota DT185 with loader (no ID plate visible after a repaint, so can somebody supply a model number?) and MWFD. The unit has about 750 hours, if the meter is to be believed. Tin is straight and original (repaint recently), and loader, trans and hydraulics function fine. Motor runs well, no excessive smoke. Owner is asking $8500 - is this a reasonable price for a bare tractor of this vintage (I'm guessing it's at least 15 years old) in this condition? <br>What were the years of manufacture for this model, and any serial number production tables available? Any major design or operational problems with this model?<br>Thanks!
