I'm sorry to hear that Chief, those 4 legged critters sure do seem to have a way of getting into your heart don't they? Young or old, its hard to lose a pet, I think their inocence and unconditional love just naturaly endear them to us in a really special way.

For years I bred Jack Russell Terriers, or as we called them Jack Russell TERRORS, I finally came to my senses and sold all my dogs off except my one prize stud (and best friend). At the age of 12 and a full, happy life he succumbed to skin cancer. I was VERY upset.

After my health problems last year my good lady heard that one of his grand-daughters had recently had a litter of pups. When she explained to the owner why she wanted one of those pups the owner offered to contact all the prospective buyers and ask if one would volunteer to be 'bumped' off the waiting list.

The breeder drove 3 hours round-trip one evening to personally deliver my new little buddy.

Now if I could only get my favourite chair back, darned dog......

Chin up, life goes on, soon enough another dog will appear in your life. Not the same dog, but unique in it's own way into our hearts.

I like to see what is NEAR me as well as my work area. Multiple lights eliminates the black shadow cast by an implement that is brightly lit with a brite white lite. Plus, the wide angle fog lamps also light all around the rear of the tractor so I don't hit other things/people. I use high quality lights with even beam spreads to eliminate hot spots in the light patterns.

Many implements do NOT work with the various quick hitches, including i-Match. If you have all NEW JD implements they all should work, except for a Post Hole Digger. PHD's only work with the Pat's Easy Change system, Pat's Easy Change is also the only one that works with different pin widths.

Not to much of a problem, we have gotten all of our blowers we have ordered during appropriate program periods. I'm waiting for some that weren't and yes I will be getting them later this month at the earliest. They were ordered at least a month before he would have known about the BX2230.

There will be one big problem with using a FEL as winch as described above.

When you exert upward force with the FEL against a cable, which then ran down a pulley under the front end and out to at close to a 90 degree angle to an anchor of some form there will be a tendancy for the cable to want to pull in a straight line.

In this case, if it is easier to lift the front end (maybe weighing 1500 pounds) than it is for the tractor to roll out of the situation it's in, that is exactly what will happen. You will then have created a 'wheelie machine' not a winch.

Thanks everyone for the responses. On Saturday my dealer quoted me $600 and $650 depending on whether I want float control. I don't think I should need any of this to run a backhoe or splitter. As TomG discussed, all I should need are a couple of fittings two lengths of hose and a couple of quick attach hydraulic fittings at the end so that I have a pressure line and a return line to the back of the tractor. I have all the valving I need on the backhoe. The main hydraulic block on the tractor has three fittings to the loader. Can I tap into two of these to run the lines?

I've seen them before, what will it cost to paint it in your area if you desire to have a good looking tractor? The tractor depending as to if it is on it's frist engine or second might have 3500 to 4000 hours or up to 7000 hours to 8000 hours. The sheet metal tells the story. The tractor should be worth between the 3000, rough to 6500 in good looking condition. A fresh motor in a rough looking vehicle means someone might have made a poor investment if looking for resale.

Most flow control knobs adjust the rate of lowering but don't affect the lift speed. Adjusting the flow control prevents heavy implements from crashing to the ground when lowered and also how some implements work over rough terrain.

I'm not familiar with shut-offs other than solenoids and the tank valve. I don't know if Yanmars have fuel shut-off solenoids like some tractors but I'd check fuses. I guess that if you bled the fuel lines then you know fuel is getting to the pump. Usually there's a bled port on the pump itself. If fuel comes out there then there's fuel to the pump. Most pumps have a throttle lever. The lever should move freely when the hand throttle is operated. If it doesn't then the pump may be in a shut off position.

If you loosened an injector line fitting and cranked the engine when the throttle was open fuel should come out. If it doesn't then air locks in the line isn't the problem. If fuel does come out bleeding the lines can be a problem and it may have to be repeated several times. Take a lot of care loosening injector lines. There can be high-pressure even when the tractor is off and serious injuries can result.

There are other possibilities but I'd check through these ideas first. Just on the off-chance that it's not a fuel problem I'd see if the tractor has a compression release and that it's not released.
