I don't know anything about the 7300, but 16 HP is more than enough to handle a front loader....even one much larger than would<br>ever be mounted on this tractor. So the HP is not the limitation. <br> Roger L.

Glad it was so easy! Yep, it was about what Junior and I thought.....something in the selection mechanism. Not a big problem, and cheap and <br>easy to fix. Neither of us would have picked a broken shifting fork as the problem. Shifting forks are good steel - normally cast to rough shape <br>and then hammer forged and machined to finish. I'm thinking that I've seen some that were made of a silicon bronze....but can't remember <br>which transmission for sure. They take a lot of stress, so I doubt that pot metal will fill the bill. If you think that the part is suspect` then best<br>be gentle with the lever. In the meanwhile, you might drop a spare one off at a machine shop and ask about having it copied in steel. If it is as<br>common a problem as you seem to be seeing, then you might just make a buck or two while providiing a service to other owners...<br> A couple of things to help out here: <br> 1. You got a good deal on the cost of replacing that fork. The labor was about right, maybe on the less-expensive side. <br> 2. Is this a high-pressure hydraulic filter? If so, you aren't going to save much money by going to a different brand. Pressure side filters<br>are not cheap. Mitch,<br>thanks for the input. I had a concern about the ride issue and brought it up to the Kubota dealer and then got a song and dance about the best ride in its class. I then rode a larger F2260 with a full suspension seat and had a much better ride. As far as the clogging issue the 1800 I tested was pretty good at the tall stuff and seemed to mow my lawn fairly nicely. I like to mow long too. I am also looking at a New Holland front deck mower, it is very competitively priced and it mows well. I need a 4wd for my hills but really like the size of the gf1800. You have helped, thanks Mike

After researching between Kubota and New Holland, I finally bought a New Holland TC29D. I also got the frontloader, mower, box scraper and post hole digger. This tractor is great! There was not a 33D available for months. I was going to wait, but after test driving both of them, I couldn't really tell any difference for what I am goint to be doing with it.<br>-G

I have a JD 1070 4WD tractor, and I am looking to install a backhoe attachment to it. I have talked to the<br> dealer and he has a new model 8B that fits my tractor. You might want to consider renting a power box rake (Harley) to use with your tractor for this job. This machine removes rocks as it pulverizes the soil and places the rocks in a windrow to the side. (You have to pick the rocks up by hand.) It is made specifically for turning semi-rough soil into a fine seedbed for turf. You can see one attached to a Kubota 2710 on the Kubota Source Site or Carver Site. It is also on the site www.daveheath.com under Harley or Glenmac. However, the heath site is temporarily down. Another option is the standard soil pulverizer with either one or two rollers. To see one, go to the Woods site (www.woodsonline.com) under the turf and landscape tools category.

I agree with you that this price is high. I ordered a 4400 with HST, turf tires, dual scv (hydraulics needed to hook up a loader), mid pto, tall folding rops, and 60 in commercial belly mower (4400 comes standard with MFWD and rear pto) for $18,000 (tax and all) on April 15th. The tractor has been shipped and is due in at the dealer around the 27th-28th. I'm not real sure about the price difference between a 60 and 72 in. mower, and the HST and syncreverser, but unless you really need the tractor right now, I would do some more looking around even if you have to order one to get what you really want at a decent price.
