My Kubota manual says to change engine oil, filter, transmission oil and filter at 50 hours. It is an HST (2710).

Ken,<br>Thanks for putting me in my place, I don't normally write from home, due to slow net connections, but I really felt like a jerk driving home tonight. I deeply apologies for my message to anyone who read it, and especially Mr.C.W.<br>My boss had a bad day, and.....you know the rest. But I had no right to take it out on all of you. so again my apologies. Not that it matters to anyone, but no the Acura was never garaged, opened (minus valve adjustments), or leaks.<br>What I meant to say is that Synthetics IMHO are well worth the extra money. It<br>fine that many people don't feel the same. My initial reason for switching was<br>for extended drain intervals. I drive 90-125 miles per day, thus changing oil quite a bit. After switching to synthetic, I noticed an average of 2 MPG increase, and temp gauge ran one dash lower(Approx 20-30 Degrees). I unfortunately share a similar story as your leaking truck did. My 82' Jeep scrambler started to leak really bad after switching to synthetic, To the point that it ended up in the shop. My mechanic felt that the synthetics ate at the sludge, because the oil filter was filled solid. Sure enough I had to replace every seal. Afterwards, same results as the Acura. 98'Dodge Ram 24v diesel started hard in the winter, not after synthetics. Plus the oil pressure gauge read normal MUCH quicker. 90' Mustang GT Dyno'ed 5.3 more horsepower with nothing changed but regular Valvoline 10-40 to AMSOIL synthetic 10-40. I could go on and on, but my point was to convey only a small portion of my experiences with synthetics and what I found to be a few of their benefits. I'm sorry I could't write it the first time.

At a JD dealer this weekend I saw a 950 with 219 hours (very clean) listed for $8250. I got the feeling that they would come off that price but I only looked momentarily before I was off test driving a 4200 (which is not a good thing to do if your intention was to look at a 950!)<br>

I have an older kubota with a loader and belly mower. In my case, the mower <br>was designed to be taken off/put on by sliding it out to the side. <br>It's a pain. I too use the loader to get the front end off the ground then <br>pull the mower out to the side. Without a loader I would jack it up then <br>pull it out. The newer mowers are actually designed to be driven over to <br>attach and remove and some folks say they can get them on in 10-15 minutes.<br>As far as the brakes on same side as hydro pedal. I agree that there is no <br>practical way that you can use single wheel braking to improve turn radius. <br>But if you put it on the other side you have it on top of the clutch to <br>engage/disengage implements.<br>Post about the backhoe is right on target. JD has a problem with the 4100 there.<br>I personally prefer the kubota because there are 3 dealers within 10 miles. <br>All of them are helpful. There is one deere dealer left in the area <br>(another closed recently) who hasen't got the time of day for me with <br>my 265 questions but assures me that I can trade it in and he'll give me a <br>great deal on a new machine. No thank you.<br>Go with the best dealer! Machine color is secondary.

I am getting ready to purchase an 84 L275DT w/loader and back-hoe(12 and 24 in bucket),1014 hrs, and 14ft dual axle trailer for 13K.This tractor is immaculate and always well maintained.This tractor has live PTO w/2 step clutch.If the tractor is in good shape you're probably getting a decent deal.

Kevin, before you buy one make sure it will pull good in high range. I test drove two at different lots and both were dogs in high range. One driveway had a slight incline and it really sucked the rpm down to 1500rpm quickly. The 2710 and 3710 I drove would not do this as a comparison. Seems like the hst and weight combo bogs it down to a certain degree and is'nt effected on the 3710 and 2710 as much. I would like to know if anyone else noticed this on the 3010hst??. Maybe it was all in my head but it should pull 2600rpm on level ground but won't.

I'm selling a Ford 8N with a front loader, wheel weights and 6 foot rear blade. Everything is in good condition and I'm asking $4,000. Paint looks good (original colors) and it starts right up. Everything is straight even the loader.<br>Is this a fair price? I'm selling it because I'd like to move up to a NH 1920 or similar tractor and I think I need the FWD as well as rear Hydraulics.<br>I appreciate any help I can get on this one, as I don't know tractor prices very well.<br>John

I've found the TC18 to be a very easy to use machine with plenty of power. It
runs my 60" King Kutter tiller with no problems at all. Compared to the Kubota
7300 and Deere 790 and 4100, I thought the New Holland offered the most tractor

There is some talk about this up top also, but I'll reply down here. When I started shopping for a new compact, I asked the same question to NH, bota, and other dealers. They all said that with a hydro, I wouldn't really need or use brake assists. I was skeptical because I used to do blade, loader and mowing work for a neighbor with tons of scattered trees. I was always stomping a brake to make the sharp turns. Well, I got my Boomer, and lo and behold, I ain't missed a step. Tried it a couple times in the beginning (old habits) and just swung my left foot over to help with pedal (left turns were just as easy to do with one foot.)<br>Just another point of view.

You will find both have their good and bad points. I've always found the rear <br>angle blades to be too light to do any serious work. But are good for moving <br>loose material. The box blade doesn't angle but does do an excelent job leveling<br>drives or yards. I recomend the box blade.

I have a Kubota B2710 only a month old and there are some things I would like to do with expensive implements that I don't need to use often enough to justify purchasing. Particularly I would like to do some backhoe work, but $6,000 is awful steep for something I would use only occasionally. I also need to use a tiller and post hole digger on rare occasions.<br>My question is, can you rent this stuff? If so, where should I look to find them to rent, and how much for a day would I expect to pay?<br>I know you can rent a tractor, and would hope an implement would be a lot less since I already have the tractor.<br>I already own a loader, shredder, finish mower, and box blade.

Larry, We got a 1725 about 6 wks ago and it runs fine. We've put about 200 hrs on it so far<br>and the rental returns are so cheap I think I'll buy a couple more. Good luck.<br>

I am preparing to buy a 4200 collar shift or a 4300 shuttle shift and then I read about some occasional clutch problem that requires major surgery to fix. Does anyone really know how much of a widespread problem this is? I plan on discussing this with the dealer tomorrow. I realize that talk of a problem with any brand of tractor spreads like wild fire while the happy satisfied customer may not be heard from. I just want to know if I am taking too much of a known risk with a lot of money.
