It ended up being a bad ground connection. I found it after checking all of the positive side possibilities first. I appreciate your replies!

HOWEVER this pto does NOT have the regular clip end as do the farm implements...
that connect to the rear PTO...
It is a plain spline u-joing that goes into the male plain spline with no hole for safety bold or a groove for the lock pin that you describe...... did I loose something???.I was thinking of drilling a 1/4" hole in the male spline tyo match the hole in the u-joing connecting to it....

Thanks. i payed scrap price for it and hauled it away non running. worst case would be i had to scrap it myself and i would loose money but not much. i got it running after i got it home in a few hours. i figured it might need an injector pump but as it turned out the problem was just a frozen throttle cable in the off position. now that i can see it run i will have to spend some time money getting it up to snuff. mainly it has rotten air hoses and stuff like that. the previous owner told me it ran when parked but had been sitting a long time because he thought the injector pump was bad and he didn't want to spend any money on it. one mans trash is another mans treasure? I am impressed with it's simplicity and ruggedness. i think it will be a hoss in the field.

there seems to be some commonality of filters across the product range. i am currently sourcing all filters for a 1770 belarus. i have a parts book for my model but from looking online it seems that even though the part number may be different for each model the filter is the same. the mtz spares has most of the filters i need in stock and just a few that are mpdel specific to my tractor a few weeks out. i suspect that they have all of the paper element type i need in stock. i am discovering that even though the parts book identifies the filter as an element that some are a washable reusable screen.

Sir I have a tc21 that the transmission case broke and they wanted $4500 just for the case that's not including the gears it took out with it and I couldn't find a case anywhere, so I have the good front half of a tc21 without the loader on it,I bought a 1720 and put the loader on it,too bad it was a really good running nice tractor

Sir in my 56 plus year of equipment mechanic I've found that the hst systems are not really good, now that not to say that some of the big equipment manufacturers don't make good hydrostatic machines,they do. But smaller hp tractors loose pretty much 25% of there hp just on the hst, and the hst system doesn't have enough cooling Capability to make it work properly when its hot,and it's expensive to get repaired.conventional shift are more reliable and durable, and far less matenance is required. I have a friend here in FL that has a farm equipment repair shop, and he's been in it. For 55 plus years and he works on more Kubota tractors that any other,they aren't what they are blown up to be in my opinion, this is just my opinion kind regards Gary

There seems to be 3 different items that need to be adjusted when it comes to adjusting a clutch on this kind of tractor.<br>

My first tractor ever. I got it last year and started using it this year. Now the clutch seems to be slipping after I used it to pull some trees and then started using the bush hog.<br>

There are 3 items involved:<br>
1. The spring the brings the pedal back to rest<br>
2. The throw out bearing and where it should be when not in use<br>
3. The clutch pressure plate / disc.<br>

I think I got #1 & 2 figured out. Today, it wasn't raining and I was able to remove the cover located at the bottom of the bellhousing. I can see one of the fingers that needs to be adjusted. There is a screw or bolt with a lock or jam nut.<br>

I'm not sure how to adjust the pressure plate/ disc or if I need any special tools or not?<br>

Yes I know it takes time but you can handle it just do a little bit at a time and you will make it look like the original one ,then post us a pic of the before and after

Sir if you remove the exhaust manifold and start the engine you will se the cylinders that are not firing and if youbsee a port with oil on it that will either be a ring or valve seal issue. Checking the valve clearance is pretty straightforward just remove the valve cover and ise a feeler guage to get the clearance, if you give me an engine number I can give you the valve clearances

Sorry to hijack your thread. I just bought this mower model 878302 and serial number 177285, missing the belt and engine slide gadget on left rear to adjust the belt. Is this a model vp75 ?

I also have a gravel driveway that climbs 300+ ft in 2100 feet. I've had chains on the from for the past 10 years and would not do without them. They make a real difference on ice and have thought about adding some to the rears but that's pricey. Once I get through a winter I forget about adding them to the rear until the next winter.... The rears would certainly help with braking.

You may be better off buying a replacement tractor in your choice of colors that alreaady has a loader & backhoe and selling your 7260 vs. trying to find one that fits your tractor. About the only way a used backhoe will be on the market is because the tractor it's attached to is on the market or in the salvage yard.

That said, find your local Woods Equipment dealer and ask him for a quote on a new backhoe and subframe for your machine. Woods should be able to make up a subframe that fits the 7260 and the dealer can do the initial installation for you. (Woods built a lot of these Cub Cadet loaders and backhoes.)
