The earlier Farmall tractor models Cub, A, C, H and M all had 6V batteries with positive ground. I'm not sure about the 200,300 & 400 models. I believe the 350, 450, etc. and newer had 12 volt batteries.

I understand the Cub model was also produced until much later, like up to the late 70's. Am assuming some upgrades were made along the way.

When I was real young about 5 years old, I drove our model A with hand crank start, mostly for sickle bar mowing. Dad always cranked it for me, since at that age I didn't have enough lead in my pants to do it. Besides, if it backfired during starting, allot of farmers got a broken arm as a result.

In '53 or '54 we got a model C to replace the A and H and a 400 to replace the M. Power steering wasn't on any of them. The 400 had a strong spring on the clutch. I locked my left knee and pulled with both hands on the steering wheel to dump the clutch. When I let go with my hands, I slide back in the seat and would take off smoothly. I could only steer when the tractor was moving.

Dad upgraded the C from a 6V positive ground system to 12V with negative ground. He got a Chrysler alternator, new coil and light bulbs and other stuff for the conversion. I believe he used the same starter. It sure spun fast and started much easier than before.

Yep, I had the same problem with my CC 7305, also with the industrial tires. I ended up machining 3" spacer blocks and buying new, longer bolts. Fortunately the bolts are standard metric items.

It's unlikely you have adjustable wheels although I see them in some of the manuals.

Hunt the web for 'tractor wheel spacer' and the like. Be prepared for sticker shock, as they're pretty much a made-to-order item.

For years my guys (bless their hearts) and I did commercial snow removal work on open station machines. In a big storm it would not be unusual for some of them to work 16 - 18 hours straight through.

We were as comfortable as could be dressed for snowmobiling, snowmobile suits, snowmobile helmets equipped with heated visors, heated gloves and heated insoles in snowmobile boots.

We had a nasty storm system blow through here the last 2 days, strong arctic winds, blowing snow, just terrible.

It was so nasty out I saw a lawyer walking down the street and he had his hands in his OWN pockets!!!

I think it is a good machine. It can probably run any front blower that is made for it. At least 50 inch probably more.

I have a Massey Ferguson 1020, 4x4, standard, MF Loader. So I scored this tractor for free in non running condition. Has not run in at least 10 years. Was parked because of bad hydraulic pump. Got it running after going through it, tearing apart injection pump, diagnosing and fixing clogged cooling system, new starter, used hydraulic pump, filters and fluids. <br>

Now that it starts consistently trying to figure out hydraulic problems. Loader hoses are bad. Disconnected and capped at supply and return on relief valve. Pump is moving fluid on high and low pressure side to relief valve. Pulled relief valve and inspected. Still no three point pto engaged or not. <br>

Thinking piston might be stuck in three point assembly. Help. What should I check? Do accessory outlet hoses need to be looped not capped for three point function? <br>

Hi I just finished blowing a 20 inch dump10 acre property 4 hrs. Old old McGee 6.6 ft. Open gearbox. Can�t kill them unless you pick up firewood�.. power 95 HP Kubota I don�t use shear pins on the drive shaft but keep property very clear of stuff. Pin on cross shaft for auger is only 5/16 bolt and never broke it.

Big thing is don�t push it, once snow starts to build in front, gear down. Have hydraulic adaptation or �abomination� for Shute. If using the wire crank be sure to use more than minimum turns and leave done slack. Shute likes to wobble around to work right. Check bearings on box. Bit of slop ok but likely the retainers as are just pressed steel.

I have a 1983 Ford/New Holland 4 WD tractor, the transmission did not making any sound but now when pull up to engage the 4 WD lever it will not engage. Has anyone had a problem with the slide lever under the cap where the handle is located? What other problem should I look for?

I know it has been a long while, but this afternoon my tractor was working and then the gas pedal just stopped working. I would hit it and there was just no transfer of power. It sounds like your problem. Do you remember what the issue was?

I know this is an old post but I have recently bought a 2012 DK40SE with 250 hrs. It too has an intermittent clatter ( like marbles ) at 15 - 2000 rpms. Driving me nuts. What did you finally end up doing with your tractor clatter?

I have a E204, great machine Great little machine. I have not found a manual for the E202/4 , but there are manuals for similar US models like the MF1010/1020. The E1802/4 uses the same engine, probably an updated version of the E202/4. I have also found that ALLIS-CHALMER 5020/5030 is almost the same tractor as the E202/204.
