Had planned to burn at least two of my piles of cut trees that are about 15 feet tall. However the just over 4 inches of rain Friday afternoon and over the night shall I say washed that out. Needed to mow the road ditch but same rain stopped that.

So I got to prove to my wife it only takes two months or is it three to get the front porch post wrapped. Well all but one, had a aluminum wrap that was bent.

Reading this brought back some memories that have been brought back to life in last few days. The damage that Hurricane Matthew brought showed itself again today as found a leak in my mother in laws house from damage to the roof from then. Twisted the loader on my tractor removing tree off that roof and replaced with upgraded loader. Have that tractor for sale, think sold it yesterday. As to the hay, decided last year I was old enough to retire from farming with the need to invest about $100,000 in barn and some hay equipment to remain in the hay business. That is reason the tractor was for sale.

Had to hire the washing of our house...too busy and has not slowed up yet. Hope you got all your task done

I know I am a little late coming to the party here but they tell me there is always one in the crowd!
Things have changed a bit since first meeting you fine folks! I learned a lot about what people wanted and needed here for compacts and I appreciate everyone's input through the years.
For me in the business I have been able to watch as the farm tractor sales by numbers drop and the horsepower go up in search of production and compact sales grow to replace them in smaller acreage and sell in even larger numbers! The business in itself has changed as we have more stores now. Third generation coming up and it is getting closer to my time to enjoy the time differently that I have. Listening to my wife i am again late by a few years as she is retired and watching her I figure it could get boring. She enjoys sitting on a beach in florida and reading a book and I still enjoy exploring! I figure we will manage as it is close to 35 years now together which is no mile stone for many lucky couples. When I first came to site I still had my parents and now i have grandchildren as life rolls on.

Two buttons next to the steering column will or should clear the codes. You do have a problem that will take more to diagnosis and that is going to take testing. With any kind of luck it will fail and become easier to chase. Have not had anything that is a yes it is this! Check all your wiring connections and the wires to be sure that it is not something simple.

I do not have a old steel bed frame now, I do have a Pallet. I have only one Tractor and 3 acres to work on.

At this point I think I will tackle the most egregious depressions that whiplash me when I hit them.

While I live with my spouse and 20 something daughter they do not help me with any outdoor project whether not there is food or beer :-( So I am on my own.

I think I will just dump these low spots and and back blade with the bucket or reverse the grader blade. And then hand rake.

Then I will have to see how much juice is left in this old battery as to whether I will do broader leveling efforts with the drags you folks recommend.

What do think of the drag I found on YT? Is it worth making?

I have a 2004 Kubota 4330 with the GST transmission. On occasion it will move but most of the time when I turn the key on to allow the glow plugs to turn on, the dash indicates "service inspect ABCDEFGH". The glow plugs do not come on but the tractor will start. Once started, the tractor will not go into any gear and move. On occasion, cycling the key will clear the service inspect message and the tractor will function as it should. The hydraulics seem to work as they should (loader, 3 point hitch, power steering). The tractor will move when the service inspect message is on and if the transmission ECU is disconnected and the emergency jumper under the seat is connected. I have replaced the battery and changed the hydraulic oil and filters. Still no change. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this issue?? It is intermittent but is more frequent as of lately.<br>

rfkuka,I loaned my Kubota B2610 to my brother and when I picked it up had problem with the mid pto lever not lining up properly. Not enough to be in gear but just a slight amount of pressure on the lever solved it. Thought when you get it home fix and on the way home thought leave it alone...a person who does not know about it will have to hunt and peck to start the tractor...has worked well.

Hello all, thanks for the replies! I was glad to hear from Hardwood in the other "Just for Fun" thread, I think of you and your farm often, hang in there. I am still at NIagara University teaching in my 5th year, lucky to still have job. The University had a ransomware attack earlier this year which shut us down for a couple of days followed by the COVID fiasco. I was used to working online due to my days at IBM so the adjustment required some work but I already had much of my courses online.<br>

Life has been good to me, I feel rejuvenated working around the house to accomplish things for my wife. I got tired of having to "borrow" my 4310 back from my son, so a couple of months ago I bought a New Holland Workmaster 25S with a backhoe which is perfect for me in my 1 acre lawn. It isn't the cadillac that the 4310 was but it's like heaven being able to just hear that little diesel come alive when I need it (which has been quite often lately). <br>

I went to Farm Days in Seneca Falls for the first time last year. It was pouring rain but I managed to find Art White's booth. Unfortunately Art wasn't there but I did ask about him. Murf, Denis - sorry I didn't respond to your comments in 2019 - I commit to checking TP more often. Ken, thanks for thinking about the old gang! I am 20 miles east of Niagara Falls, 10 miles south of Lake Ontario. There are lots of wineries here, 2 within walking distance. Arrow Head Spring Winery has some decent wine. Let me know if you are ever in the area. -Joe

Sounds like you have a crack in the block.

Had a buddy of mine with an old tractor that had a cracked block and he still wanted to run it without spending any more money, but only occasionally.

He drained the coolant and filled the radiator with engine oil, that way the motor was happy for occasional use.

I hear what you are saying.

You could put the loader in position so that all pistons are retracted, turn engine off release pressure in Control, and disconnect the quick connects from the loader, now whatever you drain can be from the tractor only. Measure and put same amount in.

Flaw with that is the last time I did hydro fluid it went allover the place :-( so measuring no so good.

If no one replies I think you could improvise by measuring the oil you drain from an oil change. Then add that amount back.<br>

You could make a Test only dip stick from something like a solid copper wire with electric tape as the stopper.<br>
<br>
When you know how long it should be you could buy a universal dipstick at an auto store for under 10 bucks and cut to the right length. But it would only be for measurement as it probably will not fit the one on your tractor.<br>

it is possible 4.3 is with filter 3.6 is without filter. But I would not bank on it.<br>

I was walking the dog down on my driveway, noting how the spots he marks right along the edge are deep green.<br>

I have known for years that snow does gather nitrogen from the atmosphere, and while modest it is been the main source of food for my lawn.<br>

What was surprising to me was I noticed one large area of the lawn was really darker green than all the others.<br>

Was it because it was i the shade? Nope. Different soil or seed? Nope.<br>

I believe the explanation is that Dark Green area is where I blow an enormous amount of snow every winter. Ans since I did not do a Spring Fertilizer treatment it is really noticeable.<br>

Well after getting the starter back in and charging the battery the tractor still did not start. So when all else fails read the manual. Starter safety switch ? one turn of the adjuster and ZOOM it started !!!! And started and started !!! So I pulled in the barn and started changing fluids .

I am reading this having the impression you have not had it long. OK the fluid is full.<br>

I am assuming you just pulled the dip stick or sight gauge on knowing the fluid is full. <br>
<br>
If that is all you did it may be full but could have issue with clogged filter or filters or even contaminated hyd oil. <br>
<br>
If you are not sure the fluid and filters have been changed recently like last 100 hours or run time change it to begin with. Would say do the same with the engine oil and all filters, air and fuel.<br>
<br>
Find out if there is a screen in the tank that needs to be cleaned also. A dealer ship should be willing to tell you. If you buy the filters there have no doubt they will. Matter of fact if you are needing to change the fluids and filters stop they and tell them what you having going on and ask them if not that any thoughts. <br>
<br>
If this is not your issue have no idea. <br>
