I am having a pole barn built next week. Just today they finished with the site prep, moving dirt and putting in fill. Due to a hill side the back corner of the building will be 12 inches or so below ground level. They are using extra posts and band boards etc to support the back fill. The concern I have is that prior to them putting the fill down there was about an inch or two of water in the back corner. The water is several inches below the fill and we just had about 10 inches of snow melt last week so I know that is part of it. I am just envisioning my builder digging the holes for the poles and them begin full of water. In the county I live in they require a concrete biscuit or concrete footer in the bottom of each hole that has to be inspected before the poles are set and the holes are filled in.<br>
If there is water in the holes when they start digging is this a huge deal or am I sweating over nothing? I am assuming that depending on which part of the country you are in it is not uncommon to hit water if you dig down several feet.<br>

That happens on most tractors so should be easy to find a cover. There are places that re-cover seats but new ones may be the same price.

Back at that time and actually the mid fifties propane was choice as well as gas for tractors. Diesel fuel was the winner in the end of most tractors. With having the extra gas in this country I'd think that to restore and have one that is still propane would be a good project although I know I'd be lost with the system to work or repair it!

I know the W'stein line as they're made down the road. Costlier than the Chinese ones but work better and longer.

Diesel made from grain? Really? Care to explain that?

I can sort of see someone saying that Ethanol, which MIGHT be 15% of gasoline, being "made from grain" (corn actually) but diesel?

so today had a few ah ha moments. as in trouble shooting multiple problems can be hard to diagnose. first thing was the wire to the coil was in need of repair and the post needed cleaning. also when i went to adjust the timing and found the hold down bolt was loose. also my starting skills are at question. choking it to much . its all a learning experience. thanks for all the great advice mike tc

I installed a HST Fan Guard Kit today. Fits TZ18DA-TZ25DA. Also Case IH DX18E-DX25E. I had to replace the fan earlier. I hadn't noticed any problems. During routine maintenance changing the HST filter, I noticed the fan blades missing. I had about 100 hours on the unit. I replaced the fan and fluid (no burnt smell though). I didn't get a guard at the time, since I was using a mmm. This fall when the mmm was removed and started using the FEL, I forgot about it until I started reading about another problem. (Fender cracking under seat. Spent more time cleaning under the operators platform than installing the guard.

When i was bush hogging the tractor first <br>
killed out. Let it set for awhile then <br>
tried to restart this time it was making a<br>
metal to metal clunking above the oil pan. <br>
Drained the oil there was shavings in the <br>
bottom of the oil pan. There is a 1/8 inch <br>
of play in the bearings. The <br>
crank shaft has ware on it. Being on a <br>
limited income i need to remove the crank <br>
shaft and see what damage its done to the <br>
bearings and main journals. I don't have <br>
the engine over haul manual. Does anyone have <br>
a copy of that manual and would post that page<br>
of removing the crankshaft. It would be <br>
greatly appreciated.Thanks<br>

Oldest guy there is a way to use the bucket. I don't know if you have a dirt drive or paved but it can be done. I have paved and scrape it to make my neighbors wonder if it's heated and when I get near the edge I roll the bucket back a bit onto the heel to go onto the lawn. I'' not going to say I don't mis-judge it from time to time but it works.

Must be a small model not to have a liftpump,most(bigger) tractors do.
That being said,there should at least be an internal transfer pump in the injection pump with a small fine mess filter in or on the fuel inlet fitting or just behind it as "last ditch" stop to catch debrie.
It may be plugged.

All to often people will step on the diff lock while the tractor is spinning and that will take them out.

I emailed you on march 21 about that I could supply a parts book. I also asked "What is the engine model?" so I could see I could find an operators manual that is close to it. I should be able to supply parts also.

If you are interested in a spare starter motor for that engine, contact me. It's an American engineered aftermarket gear reduction starter that's a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock Y385 starter. New condition, it's a no longer needed spare.
