Yes. And the fact that it has to work the hydraulics is why it's a 30W equivalent. On a dual sump tractor, tractor hydraulics use anywhere between AW5 to AW100 (5W to 30W), depending upon ambient temperature. Similarly, dual sump tractor gear oil can vary anywhere between 75W and 140W.<br>

I would like to say that I hope Earthwrks is correcting everyone's use of the English language and fixing all that mechanically needs fixing in heaven. I still miss his sense of humor and knowledge of all things, especially New Holland.

For me, given how rarely I need flashers/turns, I'd forget them. If I needed them, there are double light-sets designed to clip onto vehicles that are one-time towed (every tow operater has a set in his truck). You provide power (some have their own battery, others get connected to the tow or towed battery) and just turn them on or off. Maybe you can get kinds that flash either and/or both sides, or can add the flash component to them. That way, for a few bucks, you can attach them the odd time you need them, and not worry about trouble-shooting and paying for Kubota components.

Good luck with the project. I would bet you could advertise it for say $500-$750 or so and get a little more than scrap.

You could also part it out and get a lot more than scrap. I would buy it at that price if I lived closer. NC<here.

In the past I've had mice/rats ruin the woring harness and also chew thru the radiator hoses on my combine. After a sort of pricey repair I would dump a couple boxes of moth balls around in the engine compartment and under the cab where lots of wiring and hydraulic hoses are. That seemed to work for me.
On another occasion we had bought a new travel trailer but didn't have a shed to winter it in and never had a mouse problem so long as it sat outside. After a couple years we put up a shed to store the trailer, then the mice moved in. A campground owner told me afterwards that anytime an RV is stored inside for the winter the rodents will move in, but they seldom bother if the unit is left outside. OK, he was right after that we left it outside and no rodents, so go figure.

G'day rgondeck.
A couple of questions,Have you recently been using the tractor three point hitch and caused a shock or jar to the linkage??

When did the tractor last have a hydraulic oil and filter change??

and how old is the tractor the serial number will tell me what pump the tractor has fitted, if you cannot find the serial number standing at the back of the tractor looking forward where the cast axle housing joins the transmission housing there will be four semicircular groves cut out on the flange OR look at the linkage hydraulic control levers and the bolts that hold the two semicircular quadrants to the tractor ARE THE HELD ON BY HEXAGONAL TUBES OR ROUND TUBES??.

G'day cliftyhick.
Without seeing or hearing the tractor running it is pretty difficult But let me make a few suggestions .
These are things to consider when diagnosing a hard to start engine, the injectors are not operating properly? or the cylinder head requires service, Leaking inlet and exhaust valves will reduce engine compression? or worn or broken piston rings,worn or damaged cylinder liners.
I am not sure how Mechanical you are but if you are able to you can check the injectors on the tractor to do this,Remove the fuel tank ,this will give you more room The next step is to Completely clean the engine especially around the injector area don,t forget to slide the rubber injector body sleeves up and blast out with compressed air this done remove the injector spill rail ,the small line that runs along the top of the injectors there are small copper washers under the banjo bolts, next undo the injector lines at the injectors, next remove the hold down nuts 1/2 " a/f and use a hooked pry bar UNDER THE INJECTOR BODY and lever the injector out making sure the copper washer either comes out with the injector OR remove it from the injector hole then blow out the holes with compressed air just to make sure there is no debris in there do this to the four injectors and refit them onto the injector pipes WITH THE NOZZLES FACING UP AND AT 45 DEGREES just loose then when all are fitted rig up a fuel can or the tank on a block of wood to give you fuel supply with this done Make sure the engine stop is in the RUN position ,(Be aware that when you crank the engine there will be a rush of air comes out of the injector holes so dont stand directly in front ), crank the engine until fuel dribbles out of the loosened pipe and at this point stop cranking and tighten the pipe nut put a rag over the injector tip and do the same to the other three.
At this point you must use extreme caution and keep all hands and body parts well clear of the injector nozzles ,the finely atomised fuel spray is capable of penetrating skin and causing severe injury so only expose the injector you are priming and keep the other three covered carefully watch the exposed injector tip and crank the engine you should see a fine even fan shaped spray of fuel and the nozzle end should be reasonably dry like no unatomised fuel should drip out of the end of the injector nozzle ,do the other three .
This test will give you a good idea as to how the injectors are performing ,it will not necessarily tell what the injector atomising,POP pressure is but it will at least tell how well they are performing.
All done reassemble using new copper washers ,if you dont have new washers clean up the old injector seat washers and put them on the gas stove and GENTLY HEAT till they are JUST RED and let them cool ,give the another clean and refit making sure you tighten the injector nuts even ,dont over tighten or you could damage the injector internals.

To check the overall condition of the Inlet and exhaust valves .

Remove the air filter element or elements set the tractor on a fairly steep driveway or loading ramp select top gear fourth High range and with the engine STOPPED AND THE STOP KEPT OUT IN THE NO RUN POSITION let the clutch out and the brakes of and let the weight of the tractor roll down hill holding it back so that the engine JUST turns over and at the same time listen via the air inlet filter housing ,you will hear how well the inlet valves are sealing or otherwise do the same with the exhaust removing the muffler first again this will give you an idea of the general condition of the inlet /exhaust valves.

Piston/ Liner wear.

Run the engine and when up to working temperature and with the engine set around 900/1000 RPM remove the dipstick There should be no or very little engine oil being pushed out of the dipstick hole if there is ,this is an indication of PISTON RING OR LINER WEAR.
Thats all I can offer..
Please do not use starting fluid perkins engines do not need it I have found it to be excellent for cleaning hydraulic parts or carburetors but personnaly i would not use it on any engine.

Art is right,I've moved ring gears on older tractors with bad spots. On the old H and M Farmalls with four cylinder engines just move the ring gear a quarter turn from where it is on the flywheel, if someone ahead of you hasn't already did it. Then a new ring gear is needed.
I'm prertty sure a MF 1030 is a six cylinder engine, I don't remember turning a ring gear on a six cylinder so I'm not sure how far you would turn it, I'd just mark where it is on the flywheel then turn it far enough to get good teeth there.

Try raising and lowering the hitch arms on the dial. I'd be changing the fluids if the filter was clogged.

I have acquired a John Deere 3365 fairway mower that has been striped of its cutting reels.<br>
It runs great and has lots of hydraulic flow I would imagine.<br>
I want to add a loader and a small backhoe to be for my property.I will need hydraulic remotes to supply a snow blower and a brush cutting to be hooked on the front loader arms as well. <br>
Can anyone help me decipher the hydraulic system on this machine so I know how and where to tap into?<br>
The engine is a 38hp Yanmar, 2 wheel drive with hyrdrostatic hi/low transmission and power steering.<br>
The engine drive shaft powers the tranny and also drives three pumps that are bolted to the front. Two of the pumps are stacked and seem to be self contained with their own reservoir,filter and supply & return lines.(These pumps are 10.9gpm each)They each have their own "out" or pressurized ports. Can I plump these both into one valve to double the flow?<br>
The third pump sits just above them (also driven from the main gearbox) but is part of the main drive system meaning it uses the hydro drives fluid and the pressurized line coming out of the pump goes right back into a manifold that seems to be part of the main transmission.<br>
I know this pump supplies the power steering because one of the lines out of the manifold goes directly to the steering column. <br>
The other port from this manifold is capped off?? <br>
Can anyone help tell me what this port would of supplied & how much usable flow I might expect to get from it? It looks to be like a 3/8 ORFS fitting...just like the steering hoses.<br>
I cant imagine the one steering cylinder using too much flow and this third pump looks to be the same size as the two stacked pumps that I know are 10.9gpm each!<br>
And if I can use this capped port, would I just tap the return line back in with the steering return?<br>
I would like to keep the two self contained stacked pumps working together for a total of 21.8gpm auxilliary to run my backhoe and other inpliments.<br>
This means I still need to supply enough flow for the loader arms.<br>
And what on this machine activates these pumps (a levered cluch)or are they always just pressurized and the relief valve lets it feed back to the tank??<br>

First issue, 3 point stopped working, raised up and would not go back down. There is an outside lever which can also raise the 3 point, but not lower it. Off the back linkage of the outside lever there is an electrical motor attached to this, this motor runs off a switch inside the cab.
The motor which runs off an electrical switch in the cab, went bad not allowing the hydraulics to release. Pulled motor, and put linkage down. 3 Point functions from inside the cab now off the regular lever. The motor also runs the depth control.

Good choice. I went with Liberty this year as well. But my situation was different; excessive premium for insufficient coverage. I was with Shelter for years, but finally got tired of the CPS (creeping premium syndrome). They were charging what I considered to be an excess premium for coverage what was nearly half market value. Their car insurance was similarly out of line.<br>

Switched to Liberty for house, Geico for car. Liberty and Geico are affiliated, so each policy benefited from a multi-policy discount. Liberty tripled the Shelter coverage, lowered my deductible, and reduced the premium by nearly half. Geico beat the crap outa Shelter with car coverage too.<br>

Thank you I checked the pressure with a gage and it was fine. I bought the tractor this way. The cooler was not bolted to anything just sitting out front, I welded a bracketto it an bolted it back onto the clutch in front seems to be working also changed the fluid looks like maybe it had the wrong fluid in it seemed thicker then the ford fluid thanks for the reply'
