May as well laugh as to cry ! Now I have joined the ranks of having a " Two - Piece Tractor " ...Painted Blue !!! Certainly not going blue again. I have the NH loader, dealer installed on the front..... I guess I'm screwed ... Seen alot of tractors in my 54 years, this is a first. I have read several tales of woe identical to mine, I believe its movie time, YOU TUBE , We'll see what that will do for us !!

It seams that cleaning that value worked for now just wanted to say thanks guys.But i do have a question what is the big nut on the bottom of the FEL control boxs for, is that a needle value and how should it be set or what is the steps to set it.and what is its purpose.

October 7th. This past week I have put in over six hours on the L3240. Almost all of it was using the front end loader. I continue to be amazed with all that one can do with a front end loader (FEL). I am in the process of building up a section on the side of a 30 degree slope so I can install a 10X20 foot dog pen. When I started this project I had no idea that it would take so long, or require the movement of so much dirt. Please do not get me wrong! I am totally enjoying this project. The more that I do with the Kubota L3240, the more I wish that I had not have waited so long to buy one.<br>

Saturday afternoon October 6th I took a break from my current project. I spent most of the afternoon helping a neighbor, and dear friend, fix his drive way. Here in middle Georgia we have been blessed with reasonable rain fall this summer. The only problem is that when it did rain it seemed to just pour down. This has led to unpaved drive ways on hillsides being messed up pretty good. In this case we picked a section out in his pasture and used the all purpose plow to dig up the grass and soften up the dirt, and then hauled bucket after bucket of dirt over to his driveway to fill in the deep ruts that had washed out. <br>

The all purpose plow, that I was fortunate enough to purchase, has been the best single attachment that I think that I have ever bought. I use it every time I go to haul dirt. It has broken up buried tree roots three inches in diameter without any trouble. I will usually go over a section twice using the all purpose plow before I use the FEL. This process has made it so much easier to fill the FEL with dirt.

Thanks guys. Fuel doesn't seem to be getting to the injectors. Problem seems to be in the injector pump. It's actually under warranty and the dealer hasn't been able to fix it yet either, just trying to satisfy my own curiousity
and help them if I can. They think maybe a spring has gone inside or something like that, but it's now the weekend and they won't get back to it until monday. Cheers

I used to use it regularly. Years ago, belt technology was less advanced. Heat would glaze the contact surfaces of the belts, slippage ensued. Belt dressing fixed that. But I haven't had any glazed belts for years, which strongly suggests that the belt manufacturers are now providing a better product. <br>

That said, a lot of the Chinese stuff I've used in recent years demonstrates that they've still got a long way to go to achieve the same level of rubber quality. So if you've got any of that - or plan to get any - don't throw away the belt dressing.<br>

Hardwood: those "few drops of oil" actually represent (a form of) belt dressing. When used sparingly, oil can temporarily dissolve enough of the glaze to restore the rubber to metal adhesion. But if the belt continues to run hot, the oil will evaporate and the glaze will return. Belt dressing on the other hand essentially melts a new layer on top of the glaze, hence it lasts longer than the oil method.<br>

Homer check key switch wire to glow plugs my key switch was bad.And have seen wire lose and connectors with corrison at key switch.Good luck.

Thanks for the help. From some others I've learned that the lever on the transmission is the ground speed PTO (not sure but I think that one's operated by the rear wheels turning). The one in the front is for the dual speed setting on the PTO. Seems I can run it at 540 and 1000. The pull lever on the dash engages/disengages the PTO. Seems I had things backwards and thought that in was engaged and out was off....it's the other way around (which is why it didn't cut grass out in the pasture). I'm feeling a bit out of my league here. I've dove into this thing with little mechanical background (but I do tend to learn best when I'm up to my waist in alligators). Thanks again for the help.

I don't kinow what your mix of hay variteys is going to be, like here we usually went with maybe 50 -60 % alfalfa and the rest would be orchard grass, brome and maybe a dash of timothy.
Alfalfa does really good for a couple years then begins to die off from disease so it was a good plan to rotate to any non legume crop for a year then go back to the hay mix to let the diseases die off. Soybeans aren't a good choice, they are a legume too, corn is the best here, then back to alfalfa.

If it is always like this my guess is linkage issue. No idea if this tractor has any linkage out side of the tranmission or not.

Mike not sure on your question. The "shreader frame" is this on the tractor or an implement?

I think you are asking on an implement and if understand correctly they have pins turned out and in and then the other set up where there are two arms and the lift arms fit between and pins pushed in. No one is right and others wrong, depends on the implement and the tractor.

I looked on a L4330 and I didn't see anything there that would work as a dedicated breather for the rear diff which is the holding area for the hydraulic fluid. You should not have pressure in the rear and I don't know other then through oil exchange or hot and cold that you should be able to build any pressure.

As to my complaint about the BX three point system for raising or lowering the system, it is not a true "draft control" where you set the control lever to a certain point and then the system moves the three point arms to that position.

In the BX I have there is no supplemental follower device, as on most larger tractors, to keep that set of three point arms at the desired position. Instead the control is spring loaded to sit at mid position. From there you can move it down or up and let go it returns to mid point. It apparently attached to a valve with probably 4 ports. one is pressure in. Two is feed to the pistons, Three from the pistons and Four to the reservoir. (Could be ports two and three are the same port) The valve connects one and two when the lever is puled up from its spring loaded neutral position. Three and four then connected together relieve pressure on the pistons as the control lever is pushed down. Let go and arms stop. Pretty crude. The ability to gradually move the three point up or down is very touchy. Ir's almost either full on or full off for each movement (up or down). This is totally different for controlling the three point arms than for larger tractors. It's livable, but could be much nicer. My use for this three point is mostly snow removal on hard surfaces, so no big deal. Grading earth or snow removal on lawns is another matter. In that insistence I turn the blade around so it does not dig in. That works quite well, especially by backing up.

A thought hit me on your experience. If Kubota gave you the old fuel cap you may wish to place it on the tractor when not using it to help prevent theft. It stolen with it at least they will need help to find issue and mabye it gets found that way. Odd items can foil theft better than a good lock.

On fittings some are pressure fit only (machine finish to machine finish) and others are threaded only. Be sure on threaded you use teflon tape properly. Might be okay with dope if careful but I prefer tape.

If you don't have set of metric good time to be looking for them.

I found a number on the block 840222. Can you tell me anything more about the tractor with that number?

I did pull the valve cover and inside looked pretty clean. Couple of the rods were tight while others turned freely.
