yes, safety swtiches as anyother kind of switches can and do go bad but if it is turning over doubt that is the issue.

I don't know a simple one beats the other all the time answer. But I have two Kubotas, one 27 hp and the other 68. Will admit they have a reasonable easy life. Had a great to loose a tooth the transmission of the 68 hp that disappointed me but with that being said would buy both again. Had the 68 about 13 years and the 27 about 10 years. Bot have little less than 1,000 hours on them. No experience on cabs.

Kubota as far as am aware still makes all their machines NH does not. The smaller ones are made for them but not sure if the 50 hp falls in the one they make or contracted out.

You also need to compare dealerships. Do some scanning of threads here on some complaints of frame issues with NH, not sure the model but I would want to skip that one.

Malphurs,

Belts are easily obtainable from most any source. You do not need a part number.

You will need to know the width ("A" "B" etc), length (in inches), and style (classic or notched) of the belt, but even these things are not truly important. Simply take the old belt with you to any parts house.

My only advice to you is to stay away from the cheaper, imported belts. Go with a quality belt made by Gates, or Goodyear (for example).

If you need help identifying a belt, the internet is packed full of free help. Surplus Center has pictures of belts, making it easy to help you identify a belt, which will allow you to use proper terminology when calling a parts house.

I've had pretty good luck buying from local farmers, they know what needs fixing right off, and what can wait till a free day out of busy season.

Ask around too, local dealers especially have a good handle on both who looks after their stuff, and who has something for sale.

Word of caution regarding radiator caps on this tractor. It's actually a very low pressure system; about 4 psi. If your OE cap has a .3 or a 0.3 stamped on it, that's the metric pressure rating in Bar or Atmosphere - which converts to 4.3 psi. Owners unaware of this fact often make things worse by installing a standard auto cap, typically 15 psi. Pretty soon coolant is weeping everywhere it can find a way out.

4 psi aftermarket caps are hard to find. But 7 psi caps are not. If you replace the cap, my recommendation is to fit one that is rated at 7 psi or less.

We have not had to many hoses break on other then a few Kubota machines. Those in question for the most part wanted thee machines relief vavles set up.. Yes they can lift more, not that as with many that lift more then they should or are rated for. Chaffing a hose is the main reason for failure of hoses and is tied with pinching for blow outs. We have seen flaws in the way the hoses were made. To short, to long or just not the right elbows used originally. Weather will also take its toll with age.
with the different brands we sell as well as repair it is rare to find one brand that breaks more, other then there are more of them out there!

You will have to split the tractor & replace the clutch. Throwout bearing & pressure plate are probably both bad.

Just bought 2 500's both d-60 motors. One doesn't have the lift cylinder or hoses and bars that goes to it. Anyone out there partingo out a 500?<br>

Finally some rain and cooler temps here yesterday.

The rain was a bit spotty, not a general rain, but most of eastern Iowa got some. We had an inch and six tenths in about a half hour, I don't think a drop ran off.
The corn that hadn't shut down will probably benfit some. The soybeans and pasture/hay ground will benefit the most.

I've owned my new B2920 for nearly a year now. I now have 149 hours on it. In general terms, I love it. There are a few things I would like to see changed, but this is always the case.

I sold my little B2100HST to my neighbor. The move up to the B2920HST was far better than I had even hoped for.

The things that impress me most with the new Kubota.......

1. Folding ROPS. This is fantastic when mowing around the younger trees and low-hanging branches. It's also great when hauling the tractor on a trailer, as I no longer have to worry much about overhead clearance issues.

2. Two-speed rear PTO. The rear PTO shaft has a 2-speed option. Run it at 540 rpm and full throttle when operating the tiller, snowblower, etc. Switch it over to the PTO generator and suddenly I can power most of my electrical requirements with the 960 rpm option, running the tractor and just above idle while keeping the generator at 540 rpm.......saving lots of fuel. I routinely use this option when using my welder, or my electric hammermill. Should I ever need the full output capability of my 12.5 kw PTO generator, I'd need to switch back to 540 rpm and full throttle, but this would be rare.

3. Floating mower deck. The new B2920 has a floating mower deck, which keeps the deck off the ground. The deck is now suspended under the tractor, rather than having the mid-mount mower riding on the ground as my B2100 had. There is much less wear and tear on the mower deck, and far fewer things to keep greased up. Additionally, the deck height adjustment can be performed from the operator's seat, rather than by adjusting the guide wheels on the mower deck.....which was a real pain.

4. 3-speed hydro transmission. The new B2920 offers three speed ranges, versus the two range, Hi-Lo option on the B2100. This is a big improvement, allowing for much better power and speed control options.

5. The new loader. Kubota redesigned the loader on the new tractors, eliminating the overhead support that once spanned across the top of the tractor, just behind the fuel cap on the B2100. With the cross-member now gone, the tractor looks and feels a whole lot better.

6. The cup holder. I know.....I know......a cup holder isn't a big deal, but I've learned to really like it, as it gives me a handy place to put my hitch pins when changing implements. I've used it as a cup holder just a couple of times, but honestly I'd rather just keep a thermos in the truck. It's not easy to take a drink while on the go. I'd rather get off and sit in the shade with my cold drink.

7. Loader valve location. The new B2920 has a relocated loader valve, which I really appreciate. Rather than mounted to the loader support, the new valve is located right next to my right knee. This is much more convenient, and far less work for my right arm during a long day of loader work. 8 hours of loader work no longer even seems like work to me. I love this improvement.

8. Operator's seat. The new seat is so comfortable that I don't even notice it anymore. What an improvement! Wow. I can't say enough about this upgrade.

9. Engine power. Needless to say, moving up 8 additional horses is bound to provide more power. I'm impressed. The new 29 horse engine is far more powerful than I even imagined. This was the primary reason for the purchase, but the power gain is far greater than I thought it might have been.

10. Improved headlights. The headlights on the new B2920 far exceed the quality and performance of the headlights on the B2100 I had. For the most part, the B2100's headlights were totally useless for anything. The new headlights on the B2920 are truly fantastic, and the tractor looks great too.

On the downside.........

The mower deck height adjustment system is a joke. I don't like it. It's a piece of junk and needs to be redesigned. Taking the task on myself, I've re-engineered it to actually work as it is supposed to. It's not an easy fix, but I'm glad I went through the trouble. It works perfectly now, and the retrofit was just the ticket. I'm very happy with the deck adjustment system now.

I miss the Bi-Speed turn feature that my B2100 had. The Bi-Speed feature increased the speed of the front tires when turning, which actually pulled the tractor around the trees. Mowing the grass isn't quite as easy as it used to be. I now have to go much slower around the trees, or the front tires will tear up the sod.

Maybe it's not terribly important, but the new Kubota tractors no longer have the option of adjusting the rear wheel spacing. The new Kubota tractors now have a fixed wheel stance. I miss being able to space the wheels out when logging, or when mowing steep ditches.

Overall.........the new B2920 is a dream machine. I simply love it. I'm very happy with my purchase. The frame size is basically identical to my old tractor, but it is far more capable with the increased power, loader controls, easier steering, and speed selections on the transmission. It's a great little tractor.

Update, I found the washer witch is about 3/16" thick and about 2" diameter, that came out with my telescoping magnet. I couldn't reach the bolt so I ventured to Tractor supply and bought a (PrecisionCraft) a division of STANLEY, bendable magnet and proceeded to fish away when the magnet came up missing. Now I have a magnet stuck to a bolt head stuck to a gear in my transmission...Thanks STANLEY. I don't recomend this tool.

Have you checked to see if fuel is coming out the tank when it cuts off? through the filter? Could be trash in the fuel tank.

You may well need a pump but can tell you from experience if water is in the hyd oil will also perform poorly it at all when hot.

To my thinking unless you are certain the hyd oil and filters are clean then you should first do as condoarms suggested. At least drain the hyd oil looking at it for contamination and the filters for their condition.
