I currently have a MF 135 gas model. Would like to move up to a new Kubota with FEL.Here is my question. The new tractor needs to be in the 48-60 HP. range more or less.There are so many letters and numbers to choose from I am getting confused about the features . This tractor would be used for moving snow and square baling hay, pulling firewood logs, feeding 4x4 round bales to a half dozen beef cattle ,etc. I prefer the gear drive with reverser and no cab. Which is the best for the money?

Any one tell me how to replace brake shoes on the tractor ? I took the 4 bolts out that holds the brake housing on but I cant get the housing off .What do I need to do to get it off? Thanks

My hydraulic control system seems to be about 90 degrees out of where it should be. One is supposed to lower the unit by pushing the handle forward and up by pulling it back. Nothing happens. To lower I have to push to the right and then even harder to get it to lower the last 2 inches. To raise one has to move the lever to the left. I have check the hoses and they are correct. Difficult to drive with one hand because I have to keep one hand on the lever or the blower will raise to the 2 inch level. Any suggestions.

When I was a teenager I was cutting some wood to nail to the back of 4 shutters we were hanging with hinges on my parents house. I did a quick measure of about 11 inches. So I cut all the the eight pieces 10.5 inches. While it was only the back of the shutters, the gap was quite large. My Dad and Brother referred to me as "Ten and a Half" for many years after that and occasionally mention it to this day LOL !

Hi Guys!
Thanks for the advise-- ended up pulling out all the safety switches and testing them with ohm-meter. At first I did not recognize the rear-PTO and range safety switches--they are actually screwed into the side of the transmission. When I went to remove the rear-PTO switch, one of the wire terminals fell apart. I pushed it back together and it fired right up!

I am glad it was so simple (but I feel stupid!)--but think of all the experience I have now! :) I will invest in one of those push button starters though.

Hi!

I know this is an old post--but I'm having starting problems. I have a NH T2210 (aka TC31DA). I am hoping it is just a weak battery. Any help would be appreciated--I have not had to trouble shoot this before. I have read most of the old posts regarding starting and need some more direction.

I checked the repair manual (which I find fairly useless!) It talks about the "pinion meshing but motor fails to turn" vs. "pinion shaft fails to advance." When I turn the ignition key to "on", all of the dash lights come on, the glow plug indicator lights and goes out. There is a faint click when I first turn the key and when the glow plug goes out--I figured it was the glow plug relay. How do I know if the pinion is meshing? When the key is turned to "crank" nothing happens--except my heart sinks. The battery was reading 13V at rest; 14-14.5 with a trickle charger on. I have read that a battery can test OK but really needs to be tested under load. I do not have a jumper box--yet.

It is cold and dark out now, I have not checked the fuses--the book lists a 15A fuse for "neutral start"--is that the one to check first?

We had weird weather here--52 one day and 5 over night; things got damp then a quick freeze. I read something about water getting in the starter selenoid--how common is that?

The way I have the tractor parked in the barn, I can't get my car in to jump start it (the car BTW is at the bottom of a snow and ice covered drive...:( ).

I have read about directly jumping the starter (to by pass the safety switches which may be stuck open) but I am a bit hesitant to do that without a little more direction or clarification of what that means. Is that jumping a cable from the POS pole on the battery to which--the starter or selenoid?

Sorry this is so wordy. Thanks for any thoughts. I am trying to get a game plan together so I can work on this in the morning.......I am hoping it is just the battery. Is 2-1/2 years old really that old for a tractor battery?

I have a Kubota 4610 with a 9000 woods backhoe. Not to difficult to put on ( one man job ) My backhoe has it's oun hydralic pump. Back over the backhoe and install the front pin. Then connect the pump to PTO, then position the backhoe so you can lift the rear bracket to rest on the bar ( 2" X 16" X 1/4" thick ) that you have inserted into the tractor drawbar space. Now you can lift the backhoe up with the hydraulics and insert the 3 point hitch pins. I use a mirrior when lineing up pins. Takes some patience but do-able

Thanks everyone for the info Ifound a seat that will work. Sorry about the delay between messages I work a full time job raise about 100 cattle & raise and sell dogs Not much time for the computer. No i did not post about a problem before. I just bought the tractor about 6 months ago and love it. I have a larger International cab tractor And use the Kioti more often Once again thanks

New coil and new throttle cable solved the problem. It now runs.
Will not run slow as it bucks. Feels like it is turning on and off. As you press the throttle down thing seem to smooth out and it runs fine.
When you stop it will backfire. (Something new)
Coil didn't have an adjustment but might be the new throttle cable.
Runs pretty bad when trying to go slow.

i have a noise in the front of my motor i was told its the fly weight i have new rods crank oil pump ,i done a inline rebuilt job runs great well under load the noise is about gone sitting in one spot in sounds like a tap it but it,s not had the cover off bought all new.<br>
i have never touched the front cover on the motor with my stealth o scope it sounds like its in the cover.<br>
any info on what i am in for. i was told they all sound like that when they are warn ....

I'm almost positive kero is more hygroscopic than "cheap oil". Plus, kero splashes better - which means it will clean sump walls better than cheap oil. Clearly you want to get as much kero out as possible before adding the new hydro. But that's not the end of a competent kero flush. Kero and hydro have different specific gravities, and after a short period of inactivity the kero will settle to the bottom of the sump. At that point you remove the drain plug, let the residual kero out, close up again. <br>

Given that you're in the business Art, perhaps the labor involved doesn't make this method cost-effective. But for the do-it-yourself guys, kero only makes economic sense. Five gallons of kero at the pump = $20. Five gallons of cheap (and thick) TSC oil = $30<br>

The gear is available new from dealers for 177. You might find a used one but it may only be a little bit better then yours after thirty years of use.

Your 12V sprayer: I got the identical one (except different label and a black hose) at a sell-out for $50. Carry it in my tractor bucket. Worked so well (better than my other with a higher-rated pump) that I got two more for different sprays.

Close the drain plug tight and learn where the wand's filter is. The directions aren't the best.

My experience has been with a solenoid that clicks either it is bad or there is not sufficient current to turn the starter. Bad cables or connections could be the issue preventing the current (you installed new battery) a good path.

Be 100% the tractor is not in gear but have you tried jumper cables direct from battery to starter bypassing solenoid and cables? If that works then use a cable and bypass the solenoid to determine if the solenoid is okay. If it is then probably with battery cable ends.
