You didn't specify if yours is a 6v or 12v system, gas or diesel. Different wiring. Plus, 800s didn't originally have alternators. Yours was clearly added later. Good chance the regulator has been too. I'm guessing you may have what was originally a 6v generator system that's been upgraded to a 12v alternator system over the years.<br>

Can you identify for us the make/model of both the alternator the regulator? In the mean time, click the link below for a couple of OE wiring diagrams.<br>

Is the air cleaner clean? Read the manual--typically modern diesels need to be run at high RPM---2600 to 2800 which is at or near full throttle. Anything less is detrimental to the engine and efficiency.

Ever hear the saying: using a pipe wrench as a hammer? The CUTS are not designed nor built to stand up to the abuse these attachment and buckets put on the tracor and more specific the loader.

Same inconvenient flat tire problem on a hand truck and wheelbarrow. Tires on the hand truck were dry-rotted, and the air was leaking right through cracks between the tread. Poured that green slime into all 3 tires at least 3 years ago, haven't had a flat since. <br>

Another inexpensive solution is Harbor Freight. See small tire selection below. I have a pair of the $5 ten inchers on the shelf (that price is for tire AND tube AND rim), just in case I see green slime coming through the dry rot some day.<br>

Sounds like you're looking for someone to slap you upside the head. If not you should be. Run the other way. Fast. Any so-called "savings" now compared to. Comparable machine may be lost many times over on fixing those repairs.

My biggest question is why would you buy this with your eyes wide open?

For me your question is the answer. The line about your local nortrac dealer, how do you find them? Or where are they? I did a search for Nortract tractors and it did not bring up any web site for them or way to locate dealers or support. The only soucre I saw for them is Northern Tool. OK they are good company (NT) but the nearest to me is 120 or so miles and I know they don't have any service center there.

Within the 120 mile distance is probably 3 or more Kioti dealerships, at least half dozen of JD, NH, Kubota or MF. Those all have mechanics and parts departments.

Now I have never sat on a Nortrac machine, heard one run. They may be worth every bit of what they cost if the support is there.

Have you searched for a dealer? About 12 or 16 years back there were I think two in South Carolina. No idea now. Murf here probably is the best on your brand.

Is that a mirror on right side of your dash? does it work well there? Do you have a canopy on your tractor if so did you think about mounting a mirror there? I need to install as I do road mine some.

Rtyler, if bearings are the only needed parts, you may find they are available at auto parts store. The race of the bearing should have a number on the side they can use for reference.

Sorry to chime in late but I just paid $7000 straight out for an '82 1050 (see it at www.forksequipment.com until they take it down). Click on Products, Used Equipment then Compact Tractors 1 - 40 hp. It appears well taken care of and runs like a top with 1149 hours (no pst or hyd). Yours is obviously bigger but 2wd tractors are fast going the way of the dinosaurs. I wanted a small tractor to go where my 5101E can't very easily, like between parked cars in the winter to pull out snow to where the other one can get at it. I have a pair of chains that will fit this 1050 & will need to put on some front weights. John Deere now has 0% up to 36 months on used equip. so they're definitely feeling the pinch.

No, and if you operate that pedal incorrectly, something expensive can break. I'll quote from the manual:

"When one wheel starts to spin, engage differential lock by depressing pedal. Unequal traction will keep the lock engaged. When traction equalizes, lock will disengage itself by spring action. If lock does not disengage, depress one brake pedal and then the other. If tires repeatedly slip, then get traction, then slip again, hold pedal in engaged position.

"Do not operate tractor at high speed or attempt to turn with lock engaged. Do not engage lock when one wheel is spinning and the other is completely stopped.

"If pedal is not smoothly engaged, keep foot lightly on it until lock collar aligns to the grooves of ring gear. Never depress the pedal forcibly."

hello are you still looking for the turf tires for your jd 4600 i have a jd 4700 with them on it that will fit your tractor i am looking for a set of wheels and tires that are the r4 industrial tires. my rims are the factory wheels and tires i think like a 20" in rear and like 15" in front. if you are still intrested let me know i would like to swap someone for the r4 industrial setup or even the r1 set with the 28" rear wheel
