Hey can you send me your information again I am sorry I cleared it out of my inbox by mistake and I do want to chat with you sometime about the 850D. I should be getting mine at the dealer April 8th.

On your spinning issue I have a gator video with John Deere Tecs demonstrating when the machine needs more traction when it is slipping that all four wheels will engage in automatic 4 x 4. To me it sounds like your machine is doing what it is supposed to do. In the video they say the machine wont stop doing that untill it regains traction. Since your on Ice and It can't regain traction it will keep spinning. If I am understanding you correctly just my two cents. The manual for my tractor shows three options.
1) Mid PTO
2) Mid & Rear PTO
3) Rear PTO
There's a lever on the left side of the seat to chose this.
You can get off seat and leave Rear PTO going but not the Mid PTO. If you get off the seat the tractor shuts off. I'm not saying every tractor is like that though.

Have you used your pump yet hardwood? I'm curious if 2000 RPM is way too fast for them as most pto's only run 1000 max.

Gatoraider, I got it apart and the tips of the forward gear are rounded off just on the tip and the shift collar is the same way. I would have thought they would make these parts to engage a little deeper. He did say that if the engine is cold, it is rev'd up a little, choke I guess, and grinds getting into gear. no doubt because the belt is turning. everything else is very clean. I guess it will take a forward gear and a shift collar to fix it, can you check to see if you have these parts? Also, if you have a reverse gear/sprocket, I may just replace it because I am in there. It has not been slipping so I didn't really look at it.

Yeah, I had thought of that too. It's warped pretty badly, although they might be able to fix it.

The skid-steer will allow me to find other implements that will fit easily, like pallet forks, or any of the other multitude of attachments that they make.

I'm not aware of a mid mount shredder either, but I'm guessing by the letters in the model number and mostly by the price of 1299., that he means a rear mount rotary cutter. Any mid mount mowers I've looked at for a compact from Deere were nearly three times that money, unless it is a used one.

Update, they came and picked up my tractor yesterday. Mechanic called me to report that he drained hyd. oil and pulled the filter cartridge and found some powdered metal caught by the magnet in the filter. The oil was not burned. He drove it around before draining the oil and the noise I was hearing he thinks is coming form the metal tube covering the front drive shaft, but was planning to pull the cover where it connects to the front and check it, but wanted my permission to do that. He did not think that there was anything to worry about. I asked him to replace all fluids while he had her there. Hopefully get her back today. I had lined up two used tractors to check on Saturday, got the bank approval to purchase, but looks like I won't need to worry about that for now and hopefully have a long time before I will. I'm 62 so hope my tractor out lives me:)

I am in BelleRiver, Ontario and have just ordered a 2010 850D. At first I ordered the 620i but then on a whim called and changed it to the Diesel. I hope I made the rite move. I would like your email or something so I chat with you time to time based on your experience with yours. You metion off road lighting here..do I need to buy that john deere electrical kit to add my own lights? or can I just put in my own accesories fuse block off of the battery and add my own lights? My machine is axpected to arrive April 8th can't wait.

I will examine the 504 bucket to see how it compares to the 402 bucket in dimensions. This was by no way a slam on Kubota, I own two. Just bringing to light some differences I found. The cross brace brought a lot of negative commentary because of the difficulty in refueling, I do not have that problem. I like both my tractors and they both have their strengths. I won't discuss that here cause it would be a different thread!

What you're calling "[i]a backstop[/i]" is the pedal stop to which I referred above. What you're calling "[i]a linkage extension[/i]" is where you adjust for the specified gap between the clutch release fingers and the throwout bearing face.

I recently purchased a used 9011 and need to adjust the PTO Clutch but can't seem to find where and how to adjust...If anyone has any info that will help I appreciate it..A little history....The previous owner had to replace the clutch on the PTO after burning one up..After he replaced it he said that they didn't adjust it and it was then being used only to pull a Water Wagon. I believe him since I am still working to free up the 3 point hitch as it wasn't moved in 3 or 4 years.

I have a B2710 and there is no neutral to the 4 wheel 2 wheel shift on mine. It is either in 2 or 4 wheel. On mine the shifter is on the right side and lower level right below lift lever if memory is correct.

I would follow Art's suggestion and check the fuel filter(s). All it takes is a little trash or water. Have had same results you describe due to water in the fuel and also a wasp in the fuel tank. If your fuel filter is clear look carefully for water. Why not just take it off and drain to see if any water in it or trash for that mater.

hi yes i have had this tractor for 9 years it as done all the work around are place i have done work for the peak national park . we do alot of work mowing between chritmas tree rows to keep the wweds down this little tractor has not let me down. its just the job .
