This is the description in the add

One owner, Kubota L3830 4x4, Hydrostatic transmission, with a Quick Attach LA723 Kubota loader. Also comes with a electric over hydraulic clam sell front bucket and with a flip of a switch on the loader control stick, the front bucket opens or shuts on command.The tractor has a 3 point hitch and PTO. Every function on this tractor works great except the digital hour meter which shows 200.5 hours.This is wrong. The tractor actually should have around 231 hours. For more info please email-me!!!

There should be a pictogram (symbol) in the red light itself, describe what it looks like.

If there isn't a pictogram, or you can't make it out or describe it, at least tell us where it is in the instrument cluster it is as exactly as possible.

This may sound being smart but only critial if they are out of tolerance would be my thoughts.

So how do you know if they are out of tolerance, check them. Since you have to get to them to check them, then adjusting while there should make sense.

My thought is very simple, they probably are fine but if not sure hate the damage that could come of it. I paid to have mine checked and adjusted. Did not asked if they neede it or not.

As I said in a prior post I likely change oil too often to catch the problem if I do have it.
I've been greener than a tree hugger for the past 20-25 yrs. more because of the dealership than to make the Deere quarterly report look good. But as has been said this isn't a cheap Chineese POS knock off, Deere is supposed to be somewhat of a standard of quality, which they have been in most but not all things they have built.
From as many reports as I have seen and heard about with this problem Deere does need to approach this as something of a their fault issue rather than always a customer fault issue. I don't feel real happy with a 12 grand supposed to be a standard of the industry machine in my shed that may need an engine at 300 hours.
You guys with the known problem I urge to put the squirm on Deere and keep us up to speed.

Comotoes are actually in Gladwin? - I used to ride offroad in that area and Rose City back in the '90's--are those area still open to "us"?

Anywho, never heard of side hilling--sounds like a cheap way to get a thrill LOL

With a loader unloaded I prefer to drive straight down as Auer says like a ball goes--only with the bucket just skimming the hill if need be and hand on the control to tip the bucket and use it to brake. Unloaded still, go back in reverse ---in case of poor footing or loss of traction the bucket can be used to push yourself back up.

Loaded, going downward drive in reverse; loaded going upward drive with load ahead.

With a backhoe on---all this changes; I climbed and decended hillsides that were either so slick or steep I fully extended the hoe to get better counterbalance---and lived to tell the story.

IT turned out to be the seal in the hydrualic pump was leaking into the crank case. thanks for your help.

I'm having a lot of trouble identifying the exact year of my tractor. No one is recognizing the serial number: 5469000130. They keep saying "too many digits" or "it's supposed to start w/ a letter". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know the PTO safety switch is inside the housing, that's the 'normal' spot for it, but it may be somewhere else though, I'm not up on the JD products much.

Does your machine have seat and clutch/brake safety switches also?

Finally, maybe knowing what you were doing the last time you ran it before the problem arose might offer a clue as to the culprit also.

Homier has sold that tractor with at least 2-3 engines. Which one do you need the specs on? FWIW, you should have gotten 4 manuals with that tractor; Operations & Maintenance for the tractor, Operations & Maintenance for the engine, Tractor Parts, Engine parts. Head bolt sequence and torque specs should be in the 2nd. If you don't have the manuals, I strongly suggest ordering a set.<br>

Thanks for your response. Actually that was exactly my plan of attack if no one had a better suggestion. I will post what I find. I actually have 2 of the tractors just alike except one has power steering and one does not. What I have learned about these tractors is that there are little tricks that if you know then you can save a lot of time. I was hoping someone had this happen to them and had input that would save me some time. Based on the size of the engine it should not take long to tear it down.

NOt smart enough to say injector or filter by no means but just cause you replaced a filter four hours ago does not mean it could not be clogged. Realize it probably is not but hit a tank of fuel (transport tank) that required a filter change about every 10 t0 20 gallons. Had no problem understanding why they closed the pumps right after I pumped my tank. Matter of fact closed the whole station.
