A quick look on the internet for Texas Lemon Law it does not cover a tractor. But public opinion is worth a lot. Had a friend a few years back which took his auto and painted a few lemons on it and parked it in front of his business which was on a reasonable major road along with some info about the issue. No idea how well that worked for him. But if you take such action be sure you are within the law so you don't end up being sued.

Now hopefully it will not get to such as that rather have you tried in very even tone to talk with the owner of the dealership where you purchased it? Also having everything in written form for them should be a big help as it shows the full story rather than a short conversation. If you have a good conversation with them send them email or fax or letter (I like the first two as you have simple proof of sending it) thanking them for their time and concern and (hopefully) their agreement the issues need to be solved.

To me there are a few other things to consider between a tractor and 12 foot cutter or a ZTR than just the purchase price.
Will the weight of the tractor be any issue as to ruts? Does storage of the cutter or ZTR work best for you? Do you have any other areas to cut and if so which would work best for that or you buying only for this field? How about transportation if needed or for service or repairs? Will all the extra wheels on the tractor and cutter be any issue on the grass? One I have no idea on is turning the tractor with the size mower does it have any issue with skidding and tearing turf?

I have a Bushog Brand RFM and Bushog ZTR mower. The RFM is 20 wider than the ZTR and in my 2 1/2 acre lawn which has about 30 trees and shrubs along with house and shop I cut it in 30 minutes less with the ZTR than the RFM and by far the ZTR is the better ride than my CUT. I like both and really purchased the ZTR for trim work but after cutting the full lawn with it the RFM has largly been parked unless both my wife and I are cutting together. Now if I had total open space and my tractor had air not sure which I would use.;-)

I was on fresh non compacted "gravel", (crushed limestone).
On compacted gravel you are correct, and I wouldn't have needed the pipe rollers, the 4 X 6 skids would have slid fine.

OK, now just to clarify a point. I think "gravel" is a loosely used term to describe most any form of aggregate spread on a road.
Here the loose term "gravel" usually means crushed limestone. But before crushed limestone was so readily available the old timers did use red gravel from gravel pits on the roads here that was a mix of non screened small round pebbles with red soil mixed in. The crushed limestone wa a big improvement because it does interlock as you say to make a more firm road when it rains, the red gravel just went to mush in a rainy spell.

The last time I retrofitted an electric fuel pump to anything was 20 years ago. But all they need is 12 volts and either a built in or external regulator to limit the fuel pressure. Doesn't have to be fancy, just fit it between the fuel tank and the carburetor inlet and you can fuse it and install an dedicated switch to turn it on and off. Sometimes it's a lot harder to retrofit depending on piping, etc.

Gutters are a maintenance problem by nature. The closer trees are to your house and the more of them you have the worse it gets.

On my prior home I tried putting a do it yourself shield on. At best it just elongated the time between cleanings, at worst it made the the cleaning process so difficult that I removed them.

IMHO any type of gutter shield is an attempt to make the best of a bad situation, and as such is not going to be a complete home run, hopefully an improvement in lengthening the gutter maintenance interval.

Any gutter company will probably have lots of complaints as well because home owners that buy them, do it as the result of having intense tree problems. Add a little over selling of how good they will be and you have complaints.

I have seen homes in the south where they have overhangs with no gutters, allowing the water to flow off the roof into stone aqueducts around the house. I noticed in northern Vermont many homes don't have gutters but have what looks like a 2 foot slide zone of metal sheeting along the bottom edge of the roof. As icicles become more likely in southern Vermont you have to switch to the dreaded gutter, though it only works if the gutters are clear and not frozen.

Anyway, color me skeptical that any gutter cure product will be fully satisfying.

This past weekend I experienced a problem with my 2001 gator 4X2. I am not a mechanic so excuse me if I use the incorrect terminology. Essentially, whenever I give the gator gas it either does not want to accelerate or if I'm accelerating it gets stuck and it won't idle back down. I inspected the cable which is connected to the gas pedal (at the carburetor) and as I step on the gas the cable appears to stick. I can pull on the cable lever with my fingers and it moves like it is supposed to after a slight stickiness. <br>

If I drive the gator for a while with the gas pedal fully depressed, the opposite happens. The gator gets stuck in the wide open position and I can barely stop the vehicle. I had to put it in neutral a couple of times to stop it! Again, I can move the lever with my fingers and it will idle back down. <br>

I removed the carburetor and moved the flaps back and forth manually. The one which controls air flow seemed ok but the one which controls gas flow felt a little sticky. I cleaned it with solvent and sprayed lubricant on the OUTSIDE of the carburetor. This seemed to help but after I reattached the cable to the flap it started acting up again. <br>

Just thought I would let you know that I have a DF 354 that I have been using since 2003 (almost 500 hours). It's been a great little tractor. Biggest issue was reacing the clutch plate that wore out at approx. 400 hrs.
Thought I had to break the tractor in half to do it (heavy work) it was very, very simple to do. It was the first time I had ever done anything like that and was quite fun to do. Other than that nothing much has ever went wrong with it. The electronics and lights are typical cheap chineese stuff. But I keep fiddling with them and they keep working! I get my oil and fuel filters from Eagle Tractors in Kentucky. They also sold me the new clutch plate I installed.

I thought I would give an update to the status of my problem in this thread. I have confirmed that like earth and kdsrgone, my late model tc29d had a relay and timer for the glow plugs. I did a little testing and concluded the relay was bad. Not too bad given it was only about $12. The only problem was, I was wrong. The relay was fine, the new one didn't fix the problem. I did a little more digging and found a test procedure for the timer on another website. I took the timer out and tested it today and it tested bad. So I'm in for another $71 including shipping. If I can figure out how to post a jpg file here, I'll post the test procedure in this thread in hopes that It will help others.

The fact something outside the steering sub-circuit can be made to work by turning the steering wheel - is a classic symptom of a problem in the priority valve. When there's no steering input, the PV is supposed to close - which routes all fluid around the main circuit (loop), which in your case runs the loader and rear hitch. But a malfunctioning PV can stick open - or partially open - unnecessarily feeding the steering circuit at the expense of the main circuit. Turning the steering wheel of a PV that's malfunctioning (dirty) in this manner has the effect of (temporarily) returning some flow back to the main loop.

When this happens - and your loader will lift but not curl - gives evidence that the curl valve is dirty too. Your loader and control valve types remain unknown, but typically there is no additional priority valve associated. More common is a controller that consists of (a) lift valve, (b) curl valve, and (c) relief valve. Two out of those three appear to be ok, but only when provided fluid by turning the steering wheel.

Make more sense now?

I dont think thats it. Its a square box unless its a diffent style. The box that i took off had a wire harness with alot of wires on it with a big plastic connector its the brain to your tractor. The solienoid problem you are having was the same problem i had but my solienoid over heated twice cause of that box and ended up burning mine. If theres a metal panel under your seat look underneath to see if its not mounted under there. I know what your going through because i would put my finger in where that solienoid was at also a the tractor would start too but a wrang out the wires to that box according to the wiring diagrams JD sent me and it would tell that solienoid when to engage and disengage. Spudster, I have a Belarus 800 and can not find the wiring diagram you said you have. Could you be so kind as to share that? my email is mrinkspot@windstream.net Or any one here on the forum that has manuals on a 800. I have wiring problems. I don't know how to operate the polarity switch located on the rear right side of the seat. It is a large push button switch that hooks to the battery terminal. Thanks

Need a wiring diagram of the back of the start switch (pencil sketch would be fine).My 310 doesn't show the glowplug light after main switch on but shows 12 volt at the glowplug at any switch position with the main on. I changed the ignition switch a year or so ago and have had problems keeping the batteries up. I use the tractor for snow removal and I need it the most when conditions are the worst.

I have my thoughs on how long this will run on a charge but the air powered hammers are very good for certain jobs. The biggest one I have seen them on are where you have to place a nail in the metal hanger and use short heavy nails. Also great between rafters on already built houses.

Im having problems starting my tractor ive already disconnected the fuel rails and i am getting fuel,does any one have any other suggestions. One thing i also notice is i guess its a heater which is mounted behind the fuel pump well i think its a heater not sure but i do remember at times it did use to get hot but now its not could this be causing my promblem. I sure could use a little more troubleshooting skills if any ones able to help please. THANK YOU.
