R4s are about the hardest tires there are. You could let most of the air out of them and the stiff sidewalls would still be standing tall.

I have one of those roofer torches (I think it's 250,000 BTU).I tried it on the weeds we have. It takes more time effort and gas than it's worth. And it burns off only the growth that was exposed to direct and intense flame. Otherwise the weeds continue unaffected. Within a week they were growing back.

Murf, if flame-singing grass stunted growth, I wonder if the principle could be adapted to a wide, towbehind boom affair that would horizontally produce a controlled flame for golf courses greens.

My understanding is that Tilapia eat it, which are a fish commonly grown for restaurants, etc.

I agree with Murf- its dealing with fertilizers, fish waste, septic leaching, any other excess nutrients in the pond in one of the best ways you can.

I like the idea of some fountains to keep it clear from certain places.

I guess I'm less concerned about the hydraulic fluids than the grease. (Which does get everywhere!)

Anybody paying with the non-petroleum grease?

I had kept it secret till now but I won 150 million worth of British pound in a lottey that I didn't even enter, I turned it down being I'm already a multi millionaire.
Just yesterday I was on a ladder, paintbrush in hand, blankety blank cell phone rings, I fumble around getting the phone out of my pocket, some yoyo tells me I'm an instant winner of a thousand dollar Wally World shopping spree. I asked the kid if he thoyght I really was dumb enough to believe that and where did you get my cell number? He hung up.

I'll mention my research on the Kioti line for current readers who are interested in this issue. The entire extensive line has advances over the competition (sub-frame, modern styling and step-through design, hyd fluid cooler, PS, choice of transmission, especially versatile hitch, and more), as well as dedicated FELs and hoes, all for a remarkably low price. But my impression is that while most of them work fine, a few show troublesome problems for a new unit.

The South Koreans are taking lessons from the Japanese in car quality. As soon as this spreads to their tractors, I think the Kioti will take a lot of business.

Jeff, you mostly nailed it.

The part Art was talking about was the point I made too, the 'extension' part. You push the bucket (or whatever) forward by something between ~3" (about the smallest I've seen) and 6" which seems to be about the norm. Of course farther forward cuts into your lift capability.

The big advantage that a lot of people find with the QD setup like I have is it took about 5 minues (no kidding) to install it, and it requires no modification to any 'standard' 'Bota bucket. It also only cost about $250 if memory serves too.

The part you didn't quite nail was the ANSI type mount implements. I'm not that ambitious, I usually just one of the ANSI mount tractors from the fleet. LOL

Seriously, I have most of what I need now, new stuff will just be sourced (bought or fabricated) as 'Bota OEM 'standard mount' size and style which works with my QD hook-up. The one thing I am doing this summer (I hope) is a heavier set of forks with a hydraulic grapple above.

this is year 2 for my 850d is their any belt cover if not any ideas. love this gator have mud lites 27-12-12 on the back and 27-10-12 on the front. as have made snow plow to mount on 2"

The ignitor is on top of the motor. It is about one inch square and has one black wire plugged into it. It is the wire that comes from the coil. Ignitor part number is M119146 and costs around 75.00. Tech manual you want is TM1516, I believe.

With a 72" deck mowing at 5 MPH you should be covering about 3 acres an hour at 80% cutting width leaving 20% overlap.

This is good time for a tractor as they are meant to be run!

Most people when doing mowing work with the cruise on love the Kubota dual speed hydro as you can slow down a bit in rough or deeper grass and not have to reset the cruise control.

That's one way. Buuuut since I know the Ford discounts are out there and this is Ford country (GM and Chrysler) too, I'm a little bolder than most and simply be up-front and tell them about the discounts--if they want to "dance" I ask them what they have to make on it (usually the come clean, because they know what comes next--the books... or the door), and then tell them to show me the FACTORY invoice ("Dealer invoice" is contrived number). It's done all the time when we buy cars in this area. In fact salesmen ask if you get a discount, and if you say you do, they literally open their books to you!

BTW, the local New Holland dealer has a 40' banner draped across his storefront offering the same Ford employee discounts to GM employees--something that was NEVER allowed or done in my life anyway. And oddly, there are no GM plants nearby (they're a bit north), but Chrysler has a few plants here.

If you look in the fine print on the left, just under your name there is the words "edit | Delete" if you click on the 'Delete' word you can remove the double.

Funny thing about the Creosote, it's only banned for us regular folks, the railways aren't affected by the ban. Something tells me they have a bunch more of it in use than we do!!

That green-treated stuff is junk. One of my friends has a big fence & deck company near here. He says they have to leave the wood strapped in a bundle until the moment they are ready to use it or it turns into a pile of twisted crap. He has the lumber yard band it into 3 groups, the framing, the decking, and the stairs and railings, that way he can leave all but what he needs right then securely bound up.

I read an article about it and the results of a study were that they were treating it when it was way to wet, as a result the soggy wood couldn't absorb much treatment, pressure or no pressure.

- Possibly owner abuse and neglect with maintenance? I'd think a lady would use a tractor like this. Start it, use, put it in garage until the next use. Hope I'm not speaking out of line but that is what comes to mind for me. When was the last time the tranny filter was replaced?
