Hi my 2000 gator slows down when has traveled about six ks to 2kph , Fuel cap has been tested , all fuel filters have been replaced , even the one in the tank , fuel pump been replaced , Is their a heat sensor on this machine that could be faulty. Its the deisel modle.

I recently purchased a Topro (bushog type) mower at Atwoods. When I tried to connect it to my Ferguson TO-30 tractor I discovered that the drive shaft on the mower has an 4.0 metric connection. This, of course will not fit to the S. A. E. overriding clutch on my tractor power take off. Does anyone know where I might get an adapter that will make this connection. I think Topro is made in China or Italy. The people at Atwood's were no help at all. Thanks.

I agree. Don't rebuild the starter until you're sure the starter is bad. In most cases the starter isn't the culprit.

Very few people ever take the time to check the ground connection, at the frame of the tractor. This connection is just as critical as the battery terminal connections.

Tractors sit outdoors a great deal of the time. Additionally, they operate in rain, snow, mud, and even cattle urine.

It's a good idea to take that ground connection loose from the tractor every year or so, and then use a wire brush on both the tractor and the ground wire terminal. If you haven't done that yet, it's a great place to start. This will cure most electrical problems relating to poor starter performance.

If you still have problems with the starter, even after doing everything you're capable of.....then follow Kwschumm's advice. A starter rebuild is the LAST item on that list.

I've looked at the manual and parts book and it seems that there is no screen...as for the pickup tube the inlet line starts at the bottom of the transmission below rear axle and elbows up about an inch or so where it enters the filter housing the continues to run along the bottom of the transmission to just in front of the floor boards where it makes a 90 degree turn upwards. It rises approx. 6 - 8 inches, this is where it goes above the level in the reservoir (its a common reservoir for transmission and hydralics). After it rises it turns 90 degrees again and runs along side the engine to the inlet of the pump. I have tried adding to the inlet side but it just uns back to the filter and reservoir. I think my next step is to drain it again and take all of that run of pipe off and make sure there is no blockages but I was hoping I would have to do that.

Having problems starting tractor!!! Is the starter suppose to have 12 or 24 volts to it? I have two batteries in the tractor and it only has 12 volts to the starter and when i try to crank it drops voltage alot and seems to drag when it does barely turn over. both batteries have 12.8 volts and they are wired up correctly so i am stumped...

I agree with Harvey. Try a toilet snake first. And make sure you have maximum length on the toilet snake. About 6 months ago I had the same problem. I bought a toilet snake from Home Depot. It didn't fix the problem. I called a plumber and his toilet snake went about 1 foot further and fixed the problem. <br>

Another (expensive) solution for a poor flush is to get a high pressure flush toilet with internal bladder. It cost me a fortune, but when my son was continuously plugging the toilet I was thinking of his safety. The wife was ready to kill him! The high pressure toilet fixed the problem. (Geez, he was a little kid too!)

Further to Marklugo's excellent suggestion on the 'no lift ' problem. I took off the football shaped flat plate, about 2" wide. Under it was an aluminum( could be steel) disc. This disc has a hole in it, the hole should be threaded, mine was not. I threaded that aluminum disc the same size as the hold down bolt for the plate. Now, I had a look at another 250 it had a steel plug that was threaded to accept one of the hold down bolts to help pull out this disc, it is hard to get out but will come. Once that disc is out, you will have a compression spring, pull it out. Then a machined piece that should pull out. That machined piece should slide up and down free. Then, do the decompression lever thing and use the starter to pump oil up and out the open hole. Messy as mark says. Re assemble and I hope it solves your problem like it solved mine.

HAVINF THE SAME PROBLEM MYSELF. APPEARS YOU NEED A JD TOOL TO PULL THE CLUTCH OFF. DOERSN'T LOOK HARD, BUT THE TOOL APPEARS TO BE A MUST. PART# for tool is jdg813-1.

Got back to this today. It would start and run for a few seconds on ether but wouldn't stay running. Pulled the carburetor and dropped the float bowl. It all looked clean, orifices and jets seemed to be fine but I sprayed it all out with carb cleaner anyway. Put it back together, same problems starting. So I replaced the Honda carburetor with a Chinese made STENS carburetor. Two pulls and it started right up. I'll see how it starts cold tomorrow when I pressure wash the deck.

Yeah, I realize that cost for the haying equipment might not be totally cost effective, but as I said, trying to get someone here to bother with such a small job might be hard. I was thinking that maybe I can find decent usedequipment for a compact tractor. If so, I would give it a shot maybe.

I actually dont have any problems with my clutch... I was just trying to follow the checklist for the 50 hour. Once I've finally located the darn thing, I think I can handle it... but I may not be doing it quite as often as prescribed since it looks to be a little bit of a PITA.

I've been all over the net looking for a manual for you.

No luck.

The closest I've come is a manual printed in Japanese.....which wouldn't do ME any good at all.

If you're able to read and understand the Japanese language, one of these manuals might work for you, but I highly doubt that you'll be able to acquire parts for your E222 from any source in the U.S., since your tractor was not approved for export to the United States.

You have a "grey market" tractor.......meaning that your tractor was imported into the U.S. without factory support. For the most part, you're on your own.

You might want to give best-used-tractors a phone call. They list several Hinomoto manuals, but none for the E222. They may have a manual, in English, that comes closest to your tractor.
