Does anyone have any experience with adding a brush grapple to a JD 5205 with a 522 FEL? What make grapple would be recommended?

You can run a diesel on just about anything from peanut oil to used cooking oil to (so I'm told) vodka. Any "bio" additive does not have quite the punch of diesel, but you won't notice it at that dilution; it's the diesel equivalent of refiners diluting gasoline with a bit of ethanol. And if it comes from a commercial pump, you can be sure it's properly filtered and appropriate for the season. There's a better savings from searching out a supplier of off-road (meaning road-tax-free) diesel fuel.

I'm told that your machine is similar to my '02 TC33D. I have and had many electrical gremlins. I'd start--pun intended--with any electrical connectors under/near the left rear fender that could have been dislodged by a tall weed, then the seat switch, then the battery cables for good connection, then the 30 amp fuse at the lower left side on a pig tail, then the parking brake switch, and finally the ignition switch.

I've replaced my ignition swicth 4 times now ata the tune of $35 each. They are not sealed and get dirt in them.

Currently, I have a situation where I normally can't strat the engine by the switch only--I have to tunr the switch to RUN or ON then use a nail or two coins to jump the lead and the post of starter. It's like power is being siphoned off just befroe it gets to the starter if I use the key only.

Vern, I guess it all depends on how much time you have, a pickup truck will haul just as much as a semi, it just takes more trips. With the current needs you describe the 2520 would handle things but not in a hurry. I'd suggest going to a 3000 series not only for more horsepower, but also a heavier by 900 lbs. tractor with a bigger frame. You will likely have a front end loader before you know it and be using it lots more than you ever thought. I don't know the cost difference, but buying bigger now will cost less than trading up later. Enjoy your day. Frank.

I believe the biggest issue is parts availability........and for many years to come after the sale.

Kubota is one of the few tractor companies who make their own engines, drive trains, and every other component in their tractors. Therefore, Kubota has 100% control over their supply lines. There are no worries about contracts expiring, or suppliers going belly up during the middle of a production run. Kubota maintains full control over its entire production line........and, therefore, over its entire parts inventory.

With the possible exception of a few body parts, most every Kubota part is still available for most makes and models purchased within the past 25 years.......and the prices for parts on those old tractors are quite reasonable.

Few other companies can claim to have 100% control over their suppliers. This is why Kubota has such a great reputation. It means a lot to have parts available to you for years and years to come.

I did not have to pay taxes i am agricultural. I think if you buy out of your home state you do not have to pay tax. The dealer locally wanted 19800 and would not come down on the price. That was his quote and he was not budging. It was a 2008 model. I don't think the local dealer has any animosity. He could just not come close to the price i was offered. I am not sure how much i paid for delivery it was included in the price. I just put in a bid and barlow came back with the price delivered. Just go to their kubota builder page input all of the info that you want on your machine and brady will email you back with a price delivered. As far as warranty work any kubota dealer will have to do repairs it is in their contract i believe. You will not get first priority but they will perform the repairs. It is not really a big deal. Kubotas rarely need warranty work. Any more questions feel free to ask. The price for doing business here in New York state is very high and if the difference was only a few hundred i would have went local.

$Croberts26, There are a few things to consider here. First off, as the engine warms up the internal dimensions change just slightly, due to the metal expanding. This could be just enough to restrict the amount of fuel getting by the needle valve in the carb. I'm guessing that the needle valve is in need of cleaning, and then a proper adjustment. Another issue to consider is whether or not your engine dies when under a load. If so, this is usually caused by a faulty spark plug. Under normal operation, the gasoline in the cylinder produces just a bit of resistance in the spark gap. The more gasoline in the air mixture, the higher the resistance to the spark. (This is what causes pinging in a auto engine when going uphill.) Under a load, the higher gasoline mixture may be just too much for the spark to jump the gap. To correct this problem, it is necessary to clean and adjust the spark plug gap to standards. I'm guessing that the gap is just a fraction of inch too large, or that some soot has built up on the spark plug, increasing the resistance just slightly. Due to the age of your engine, I would be highly suspicious of the needle valve in the carb. Joel$ Cub Cadet RER engine stalling - need help
