Wouldn't a posthole auger serve you better than a hoe?

It's better to have a bit too big than too small, but for fencing, do you really need that big?

I'd talk with local dealers to start.

Problem solved. I was talking to another dealer and it appears that I implied that i already had two remotes and needed one more. I just have the joystick currently and wanted to add another remote to operate a grapple. $743 + labor. Thats more along the lines i was thinking.

Sorry, I forgot to mention getting a compact with four wheel drive is pretty imoportant. You can buy two wheel drives pretty cheap, but you won't be happy esopecially with loader work. In my first post I really meant to say that you had the livestock, not the dealer. guess I was still sleepy. Frank.

Hey my latest setup is to have two short hoses now on my hydro clyinders on the Fisher plow and I leave the hoses I had first right on the loader arms and just QD right off the end of them so I dont have to remove the hoses when I want to put the bucket on! I have a lead on a nice snowblower for the rear very reasonable so am kicking that around how that would be to have the snowblower on the back and Fisher on the front????? Any ideas you have on hooking up better I am always interested in better ideas as I have no doubt that there is lots about all this that I dont know..................... ;-)
Got a set of Landpride Harrowing Discs on the rear right now Model is 1572 I think,[borrowed from a friend] weight is like 715lbs; and ground around here is just dry enough to drag up some dirt, to get ready to get some "Deer Plots" in for this coming fall! I feed about 30 Whitetail here all winter and am going to try some kinda mixture to see if I can keep a few interested in my back fields all summer!

The reverse has stopped working on my Dad's E-gator. I took it to the John Deere Dealorship, but they were not familiar with it. After keeping it several weeks they think it is the Motor Controller, but were not sure enough to install it as it costs about $1200. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Air compressor is an option, but it's not related to the tractor brakes. It's to connect on to towed devices (trailers presumably) that are air-brake equipped. The option should also include a behind-the-seat storage tank so you can use it like a portable air compressor as well.

I don't know what to tellya about the 8 spline PTO stub though. You must have received a tractor that was originally intended for the Japanese market. I suppose an 8 to 6 adapter could be found. But my own tendency would lean toward removing the 8 and replacing it with a 6.

Kits are available, but it takes a little work to track down the various sources. I've seen them for fuel and for engine oil and for hydraulic fluid. The link below is just one example of a conversion kit source. Another option is to install a relocation kit. They use mainstream replacement filters as well.<br>

It's not a 2520 but the 4310 I bought around 2003 hasn't had any out of the ordinary problems. The battery was replaced this year and a couple of years ago it had some battery corrosion around the radiator (not the best location for a wet cell battery). In your case it could simply have been a bad seal or it was nicked somehow during assembly. Burnt smell? I dunno, it all sort of smells burnt to me.

Thanks to all for the advice. I do have a FEL and she is 4WD. I want to put in a food plot for deer and was looking at the S.Bottom 12" and 14" plows advertised in Northern Hyd., but was unsure if I would be wasting money and then thought about buying a set of chains. I could use the chains in the winter anyway.

Hey does anyone know if the Diff Lock can be adjusted cause it used to only slip and click in reverse but lately its doing it in forward as well and sometimes that diff is all you need to get off the ice or trough the snow.<br>

Hi! We rent few times last summer a kubota B-21 to do landscaping. We have to remove stumps and large rocks to install a wall, etc... We want our own tractor, cause the job still not finish but budget is tight. The best price here is for the Massey. Also, Massey has 0% on 60 months financing. <br>

Some Kubota dealers recommand us bigger than Massey GC2310 or their BX-24 but we can't pay more... Do you thing that the Massey will be able to respond to our needs?

We received 5 inches of snow overnight. It's April 24th, so this is to be expected this far North.

Last year we got three inches on Memorial Day weekend. I hope that doesn't happen again this year.

OK, that's 20 years older than mine - and a completely different engine. So I'm wingin' it here. Mine has no external spin-on, instead using an inline 80x80 brass mesh inside a flow-through housing that's bolted to the side of the lift box. I only clean or replace the wire screen itself. So I'm wondering if this spin-on rig wasn't an aftermarket addition. That could explain why the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction.<br>

I can't find a FRAM with that number, but CarQuest has an 85259. It crosses to a Wix 51259, which is spec'd as a 10 micron transmission filter, so that may explain part of your problem - flow restriction. So the first thing I'd try is replacing that filter with a strainer. Contact Northern to verify if their replacement strainers have the right thread count and diameter. The 149 micron replacement spin-on suction side strainer is their part #4015. If you're actually on the RETURN side, they also have 20gpm and 35gpm replacement spin-on filters. Both almost certainly present less restriction than your current filter.<br>

That silver box you describe is almost certainly the divertor/priority valve. It's on the pressure side of the pump. Track the line from the box back to the pump. The line on the OTHER side of the pump will be the supply.<br>

If in fact flow restriction IS your problem, then I would think ALL hydraulics would show degraded performance.<br>

His wife, Donna, recently held a farm retirement auction. I was present for the auction just long enough to purchase one of the pickups. It's a 1997 Ford F-250, with the big 460 gas engine. It's got 4wd, a manual 5 speed transmission, extended cab, long box, off road package, towing package, soft-plug heater, cruise control, tilt wheel, a goose-neck trailer hitch system, class III receiver hitch, and an electric brake controller installed. Sale price was 1400 dollars. This truck retails for around 7 grand. <br>

I've never owned a truck with this much power. In 4-low, and in first gear, at full RPM, it will get me going at about 3 miles per hour........or 6 gallons to the mile. hehehe. This thing is simply awesome when it comes to pulling a heavy load. It doesn't even know my Kubota, tiller, cultivator, plow, etc, is behind it.<br>

I spent 800 dollars on a complete new set of brakes.....rotors and pads up front.....and new shoes and drums in the rear. Used trucks often need some sort of work in order to make them operate like new again. But, for a total of less than 2300 dollars, I've now got myself a real truck.<br>

If you're looking for a good pickup, but don't want to spend the money on a new one, shop in farm country. With grain prices as high as they are right now, farmers are rolling in cash. And, of course, they're spending a good deal of it too. Many farmers now own new trucks, and the used lots are packed to the gills with good, used trucks, which are now available at tremendous cost savings.<br>

I purchased my pickup at auction, with little bidding competition, because many farmers simply don't want, or need, another pickup right now. Forget the new trucks. The prices are ridiculous. <br>

Joel; Back in my heyday when I thought I was a bigtimer we farmed/custom farmed/ran a fulltime furniture plant/and did landscaping work with two Deere compacts and the equipment to compliment them. I did all this with the help and encouragement of the Mrs., one son who worked for us fulltime and some part time workers. Today here I sit with a worn out body, still somewhat sane eating pain killers like they are candy, and enjoying our retirement more than I ever though I could. I still am building some furniture, working around the farm with the "Baby Deere" on my terms not trying to meet someone elses terms, and for the first time in my life I don't owe a banker a D*** dime. While we were in the "Fire Ball Days" so to speak I never gave a thought to insurance, then I had the same awakeining as EW, being informed that I had to have every kind of high dollar insurance known to man to still be in business in our lawsuit happy world. Anyhow the reason for all this gut spilling blabbering is to kind of soften my prior statement of "AINT FOR HIRE" You do as you have planned and enjoy it. As a friend of mine who has now passed on used to say,"You want to work real hard, save every dime you can so your widdow's secon husband can really live it up". Oh, by the way, you think Cando is small, my home trown is 1/4 that size. Frank.
