There may be someone here with a crystal ball but the only way I know to be 100% of no cash out of your pocket for any time is a warranty and then what does it cover and who stands behind it. Even if no cash out of pocket you still can have problems.

If buying a used cutter, I would want to hear it run. Rather be able to cut a little with it. On my tractor if possible as you know your tractor's noises. Look for signs of leakage under the gear box and check the oil level on the gear box to try and be sure it has not be run dry. Don't really know how to test a slip clutch other than hitting stump or such with cutter, not something I do on purpose. kt

I'm having some difficulty identifying the manufacturing information.

Your tractor's serial number should start with either the letter "C" (U.S. produced), or the letter "B" (built in Basildon, England)

I see nothing referring to serial numbers beginning with the letter "A".

It takes quite a bit to learn all there is about the tractors. I myself find I enjoy learning the quirks and find many just listening to the people that come through the front door.
To sound knowledgeable is a good thing for a salesmen and it is hard to find someone that is well versed about tractors and there are many things that are learned here that is more then any sales class or multiple of them that I've attended.

The tractor has about 100 hours a year which is about right for normal use. Was it used commercial or for someone developing their own property? The price of the tractor alone for a new demo and your getting a free loader and backhoe.

Unhook the 1 or 2 small wires at the solenoid (maybe yellow) if it turn over when you hook the battery up, it's the solenoid. If not it's the switch or a hot wire shorted to the (maybe yellow) small wire that goes to the solenoid.

Cutter, if you look at my blade setup and think back to how your Curtis was you will see one big difference.

My blade is free to pivot at the point of attachment just like it is on a truck.

This doesn't seem like much, but in fact it's huge, it means the only weight on the balde is the blade itself, and the entire weight of the FEL is still on the front wheels.

I talked to somone who had a SSL angle blade mounted on the FEL of a CUT, it too was a PITA, in fact they were rather astounded when they saw how well mine worked compared to theirs.

With all the past posts I feel you are still searching for the best answer for your job.
Let's look at the way the wind blows, is it the same way your driveway runs? If it is then drifting isn't a problem in the driveway and lighter cleaning equipment will very well work!
For the driveway to run the other way you will need the best of everything to keep up!! Drifting would definitely be a problem with this and a front blower is the best!

A loader is a year around tool no doubt but sometimes they make more work! With a hydro in in the middle range you would be at the best of speed and RPM with a blower.
The best blower I've seen is a four paddle and they were cupped with a good amount of built in features.

Dear friends,

The Tructor website now lists the price at $35,000....no implements included. (New Dealers must order a minimum of five units.)

Still too steep for me....by a long shot. However, I would consider a used one in good condition.

RFD-TV is one of my favorites.

I had the same problem with my B2100. The hydraulic line worked loose and eventually cracked. When I replaced the line, I discovered the reason for it breaking.

The hydraulic unit (power steering valve) had worked its way loose from the frame. The play in the steering valve caused the line to crack.

The unit is self-contained. It bolts directly to the frame. If I'm not mistaken, you'll need a 21mm wrench to tighten the bolts.

Open the engine hood.

Remove both side covers.

Remove the pin holding the throttle lever in place.

Slide the throttle lever off of its shaft.

Remove the single screw in the top of the instrument panel.

Carefully Lift the instrument panel off JUST AN INCH OR THREE.

Remove the tachometer cable from the rear of the instrument panel.

Carefully set the instrument panel aside, with all wiring still attached.

Slide the Steering column cover up, and then outward toward the seat. It's held on with four plastic hooks.

You can now get to the bolts that hold the steering valve to the frame.

If you can, install some lock-Tite or other thread locker onto the bolt threads. The bolts go directly into the frame through ears on the valve. Be careful not to tighten the bolts so tight that you crack or break the ears. I do not have any torque specs to go by.

It's not identified in my parts diagram specifically, I'm just going from the graphic rendition. But having taken Chinese gear trains apart before, I'm pretty sure it's a circlip.
