Here I thought is was some clever Swedish design of ultra-modern tractor that was kind of lumpy to sit on but folded out into a sort of bed if you had overnight guests that you didn't want to be *too* comfortable.

Bet they'd be popular with college kids though, they might not miss the old farm so much.....

Ann, they are a neat unit. I've had a 430 that came with the first 4300 tractor I bought. I've since added a 4 in 1 bucket for it, and so far no problems. I don't like to use it more than a big half day without greasing it especialy the lower bucket pivots just to keep the dirt pushed out of them. Just as the biggest bulldozer has it's limits so does your new loader, give it good care and it will last you a long time. Enjoy you new machine. Frank.

Jim' I'm a bit far away to know about auctions in your aeria but here in Iowa the major consignment auctions are held about this time of the year just prior to harvest and again in late winter ahead of planting season. The phone book is probably your best source of auction firms and I'm sure most of them are on the internet also. You have a good piece of equipment and it should bring top dollar.Best of luck. Just a clarification on cylinder capacities. The "push" capacity of a cylinder is based on the area of the 'bore', not necessarily the rod size. The "pull" on a double acting cylinder is the area of the 'bore area minus the rod area'. For force is either direction, it's the area described above times the system pressure.

To really get a feel of how much push you need to get the box started into the dump position, you need to multiply the gross weight of the box and contents by the difference in the dump moment arm and the center of gravity of the load. In other words, if the center of gravity of the box is 4 feet from the hinge pin, and the lift cylinder pivot pin is 1 foot from the hinge pin, you need 4 times the lifted weight to move the box. In addtion, and maybe more important is the angle and orientation of the cylinder under the box. If the cylinder is on a 30 degree angle, and the cylinder pin is at the same level as the pivot pin, the vertical lift component of the cylinder is only 40% of the cylinder "push capacity".

These are rough examples, but you can see that to lift 4000lbs from the examples above, you would need (4000 x 4)/.4, = 40,000 lbs. The orientation of the upper cylinder pin to the box pivot pin can change these numbers, but these are the things to look at to determine the size cylinder you need.

We use 4" cylinders at 1500psi for our 2 ton dumps.

I thought it was a speed sensor due to the need for it for the ABS and the speedo. Turns out it was the rear axle speed sensor. I didn't get time to hit an auto parts store for a diagnosis due to job interview call-backs (good for me). So I dropped it off this morning and they found which one it was and replaced it. Everything works now.

Something is missing from this equation.

Unless the tractor is equipped with position control, or the 3pth control lever is being moved, where is the fluid to keep raising the arms coming from?

All of the hydraulics for the 3pth are internal, there is nothing to examine without some degree of surgery.

It does however sound like fluid is bypassing a seal in at least one place, the cylinder or valve, causing the settling, and also in the lift control circuit, causing the lift back up.

If it is the 3pth control valve, it would explain both.

This is a known problem on the L2800 and L3400. A replacement 3pt control valve will be done under warranty which smooths out the operation considerably.

New models now come with the updated valve from the factory.

(I had my L3400 done right away.)

Hi Art,

I gave some thought to the BX24, and could easily be made to reconsider, but I thought it would be too small for the logging I wanted to do, and the PTO horsepower too small for the other various things I want to add on. If the B3030 is also going to be too small, I might as well get the BX24 for the same money and get the backhoe I'd love to have but have trouble justifying... Is the BX24 more stable on hills do you think?

Same worked on stuck remote hyd valve. Decided it was not working, so..

There was a theme in heavy equipment company I worked for, if it don't fit, get a bigger hammer. Boy did they have some big hammers. No, I am not joking. They did use lead head and other types to prevent maring.

Make sure to check to tractor point classifieds - there are ususally reasonable choices, and think it through on obtaining a newer machine and a loader - which is the most useful implement beyond a mow deck. I do personally have a Kubota BX2200 (22HP) for sale, listed with the classifieds here (FS: BX2200 w FEL and MMM) and on Austin Craig's List. Good Luck, Scott.

Mine was going all the way forward so I figured it was still good even though it wouldn't lock. I sprayed the top end of the strut where the release handle goes into it with Liquid Wrench, let it set for awhile. Meantime, I tried to hammer out the small pin that holds the release handle. Before I could even get the pin out or move, all that shaking apparently loosened up the plunger that goes into the strut. Now it works fine.

I bought a b7200 from a local dealer. It was to have had new filters and injecter pump. I blows black smoke when you start it and when rev it up. After it runs for a while if it dies it will not start till it sets for 20 min. It is not getting hot. <br>

I checked the fuel filter today it looked 5 years old not new. I changed and it seemed to smoke more under the same cond. <br>

I checked the injector pump timing and it looks like it is timed a TDC. not F/1 I checked all three cyl. They would overflow at the top of the pump at TDC. <br>

I do not see any shims under the pump. It seems to me you would have to lower the pump to get it timed a F/1. <br>
can someone help?<br>

PS the salesman and mech. who told me what had been done have both left.
