I just had my new 48" Tiger Cub Z turn delivered. After the rep left I tokk it around the yard a few times before it got too dark. I noticed two things right off. The machine has a hard time engaging the PTO without stalling, and the Kohler engine at full throtle runs high/low almost constantly. What I mean is the engine revs high and then throtles back a bit, then high again. Having absolutley no experience with Scag or Kohler engines I am just wandering if this is normal, or do I need to talk to the dealer. After spending so much on a mower its not a good feeling.<br>

I know of two in the past 2 years, and the one had it happen twice. I don't recall if shatter the axle housing --I think it was the ring and pinions on both. The first one happened while using a box scraper with the scarifiers down pulling roots in wet Spring clay---a lot of tire slipping, but it still happened. The other one that it happened twice to was doing loader work which he really shouldn't have been using like a backhoe or dozer---really hard clay.

We have some Ski Resort Condo Villages that are owned by People and rented for BIG $$ for weekends and weeks at a time, they cover alot of property, need plowing, cuting, landscaping, YEs! and even some Hay Baling.

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the note on the grill gaurd. I would think that will be a pretty important addition if I'm going to be doing much in the woods like I plan. The higher end FEL's have it included and I missed that on the smaller one.

The new exhaust system didn't fly but I got other stuff though. Wife got a new dryer (drying cabinet, great for all of those woman sweaters so they aren't laying all over the house).

I got a new computer under the premise of using it to burn DVD's of the kid for the grandparents. Also got a digital camcorder out of that deal.

AND on Wednesday, I ordered the Rodenator to kill off the gophers. I've ranted on here for several years about Satan's minions (known as gophers). So I'm pulling out the big artillery. Enough is enough. Propane, oxygen and a spark should kill them off. Wife went along with it and surprised me with how quick she agreed. Course, as she put it, "I can sit here and listen to you bitch for another year about the gophers or I can say ok. One condition: I get to video tape you using it." Simple enough terms. I agreed.

If I tried Murf's line, ooh, I shudder to think what would happen. I don't know if my medical insurance would cover the damage.

I met a man who lost a foot and part of his lower leg doing exactly that.

A CUT rolls over like nothing else does. When it goes, it goes FAST because it is so relatively narrow.

If you try to jump, it will likely spin faster than you can leap and you will end up doing a belly flop on top of a rolling machine, on the next revolution you will be under it.

It happened to the fellow I met when he was 21 years old, and was at the time an avid dirt biker, accustomed to keeping his balance and reacting fast.

Like Ken said, let the ROPS & belt do the job they were intended for.

Willie, right back to what I said earlier, if the water pump isn't pumping, it won't displace any air trapped in the system either!!!

There's an old trick I've used before, CAREFULLY!!!!

When the engine is hot, and the system has a little pressure, carefully loosen the temp. sender. If there is air trapped it will hiss out past it, if not there will be coolant from the start.

If the temp. sender reads tiddly-squat (check it with a meter) when a thermometer tells you the coolant is say 175�, then you have a) air next to the sender, b) a bad sender, c) faulty wire leading to the meter, or d) your meter went south.

Dave, who ever is selling these things obviously doesn't even know what he has for sale.

They are not splitting wedges, they are FELLING wedges, there's a big difference!!

Not to say they wouldn't split a log open, they certainly would do that!

They are designed to 'push over' a tree that is so vertical it won't fall on it's own, or to help re-direct a tree if it's leaning a little the wrong way. They would be driven into a drilled hole on the opposite side to where you want the tree to go after the tree is mostly cut through. The explosion of the charge lifts the back side of the tree enough to get it off balance and going the direction you want. They would often use 3 of them on big trees, adjusting the length of the fuses such that the center would blow, then a second or two later two more closer to the 'hinge' of uncut wood in the center would blow.

They were not only expensive to use, they were obviously pretty dangerous too.

There are some right though Kubota for the front that are recommended for different options. I'm unaware of any specifically sold for that application.

We talked about this in an earlier thread. If the mineral base is fully hydro treated I am not sure there is much difference. It cost should be less than the synthetic chains.
I would like to test the Delvac synthetic, but have trouble finding it locally. I only live in Alabama. You think they would have Mobil.

the problem is usually a low voltage problem at the start wire. we at the dealership are using a relay and use voltage from the starter to excite it by a extra relay and this solves it.

Normally I agree with the new model thing. But a New Holland is doing is basically re badging what they already have and tweaking the fuel a bit. I would venture to say that the TC34 will be replacing the 33 just like the 26 replaced the 24 and so on.

Go to chase or other big credit card co. Check the specials and call them. I have a piece of property I was paying 9% on at my bank. I got a call from chase and worked a deal for 2.99% with no fees of any type It is a fixed rate till it is paid back. Payback is 2% a month. They wired $10,000 to my account and I payed off the bank
You only have to cover yourself so you do not miss any payments. Do that with auto withdraw.

I have a B2400 and noticed the same slip under load, and upon thoroughly cleaning the transfer case connection area, discovered a crack in the housing, then I immediately removed the complete front end, cleaned it more to show any more defects, discovered I was lucky enough to not have broke or worn the gears, repaired the broken housing with the aid of a buffer,grinder,& mig, reassembled, refilled with lube and tested with more rugged KABOTA typical usage, that was 2 years ago,,,, and my Bota is still performing as it should.
