Coming from a B-4200 anything that is offered today will give you better performance and results. I'd look at all from the BX and up for the options that you would like.

I knew a farmer who actually did use an old outhouse to smoke meat - with a pipe coming in from a barrel that burned wood about 25 feet away. His sons had to keep the fire going, in addition to their many other chores!

Or more to the point, can I buy some hoses and valves to add a relativly cheap, temporary remote to my L4330 using my backhoe connections? I'd only use it a few days a year, and really just need momentary forward/reverse (1 cylinder acting). <br>

Any suggestions on sources/sizes/connectors? They look remarkably like skidsteer connections. Are these just a supply and return (connections on the tractor) to the tractors secondary/aux hydraulics?<br>

I just bought a Kubota L2800 4wd with Hydo trans for $15,888 new with a loader. I love it. Very reliable and won't break, but in your case I'd go for a manual trans and more power with the L3400. My PTO hp is only 22.5 with that Hydro. With ballast in the tires my tractor weighs 4,000 pounds.

thanks i noticed one of my bolts is already missing and i tightened all the others..its where my loader mounts to the engine frame, are there engine mount bolts to check also ?

Oliver -

Just thought of what you could do to move the tractor. Take a small jack with you and jack up the loader frame from the back , behind the bucket. Once raised to a comfortable height, cut a piece of 2x4 to length and prop between bucket frame and stationary frame on tractor.

OK the nose is off the ground, now to the blade. Either disconnect it if you can, or with your ROPS set in the upright position and locked, take a 2 inch strap with ratchet and loop it around ROPS at the top and around a lifting point of the blade assembly, and crank up on the ratchet. Once lifted, your orange is ready to be moved.

While you fellow Back Hoe'ers are here, I have a question.
What is the best way to crimp them bucket teeth on? I have tried a 9 pound hammer and braced the bucket and then I got a large tap and Geez! because of the closest on the 9 inch of the two teeth, it makes it rather hard to get a good angle. My arms grow tired and the crimp is still half-ass
Any ideas? Would a 7.62mm at about 25 meters do the trick? I was afraid of trying because of the fragments from the projectile would probable severe a hydralic line.

1*Although the current versions actually have more HP than the Kubota BX24, these garden tractors don't come in 4 wheel drive and aren't strong enough for FEL and BH.

2*Anyway, the BX24 I'm looking at would come with FEL and BH. What would be a great price on this configuration from a buyer's point of view?

When the tractor don't have the Beef/ muscle to handle it you don't have much other than a high powered motor on wheels.

Judging by your posts and info that I have gained, I think I am slowly migrating towards an inverter system. For the work that I will be doing with it, I would be able to get my feet wet (so to speak) and still not put ou BIG bucks for it. Then later on down the line, IF I should need something bigger, I can always seek a larger unit, but with the knowledge and experience of the little one.

YOu are right you lost gearing! The first thing that you should know is you should be able to spin the tires in low range against a solid object! I wonder if you are using the hydro petal wrong and not allowing the hydro to do it's job. Often people will use it like a gas petal and some times you have to let off the petal to allow it to work.

Steve, you've asked for something that is hard to do. I always use the phrase that every used piece we take in trade will be new to somebody and of coarse that means the better the condition the higher the value within reason. You do have low hours but that only should help to about 10% of the value of the tractor with a maximum of 20% if it is like new. It does sound like it is in good condition and I'd be selling it possibly at 12,500 to 13,500. These are over book value but not by a lot for what you have and local markets will dictate the price. To try to sell it to someone that doesn't have the money or it is not the tractor they are looking for will only mean a lower price. The right application and the need for the tractor will give you a good sale price.

We have done many trades from the Ford 600 to the newer compacts in that size. You would be pleased with the results although if you need it for heavy pulling I'd suggest mounting a loader and rear ballast to offset the loader weight and you'd be fine. The advantage of the hydro for PTO work would be a plus and for the initial small loss on horsepower would be made up by the additional torque of the diesel. I've had no dissatified customers on this type of trade but I don't know what your purposes are for the tractor.

Could you have ground hornets there recently due to having cut trees who's stumps have rotted out giving holes for the hornets?

That is where I had them at my yard.

As to the vacumm cleaner, I have no doubt that would work but I am like you. May I suggest you don't have it on, push the hose to the mouth of the nest, RUN and then plug it in.

The BX1500 shares a lot of parts with other BX models and besides building a quality machine, Kubota stands behind their products. I'll echo Art's comment. Don't worry. If the BX1500 is the right tractor for you, get it! BTW, the package price you were quoted is very good.

I'm not into computers as to tearing them apart but I've seen some pluses for the farm tractors. The customers that they build them for put about 2500 hours a year on them, they are built for ten thousand hours. That's four years at a consistant 70-90 degree temperatures and near constant running. Now for the individual that only puts two hundred hours on in a year and wants to keep the tractor for five thousand hours with electronics? Where we are we have big temperature changes and a lot of condensation and that is the killer! I see some fail virtually instantly or in new tractors within a few weeks of delivery. The poor dealers running around trying to keep up with the break downs These are the models that don't run but a year or two vs the normal five year run. Peters, I'd like to talk to you about those boats some time as I have a Volvo powered boat that I did some extensive rebuilding on the engine last winter. I took a AQ131D to a AQ151C version. Quite a well built engine!

How often you plan to mow 50 acres? I can tell you that I mowed 10 acres a few times with the TC40 and was about spent by the time I was done. Look at my Pic 17, This was the tallest I have ever had to mow. The tc40 and woods 6ft cutter was awesome in this spot. Would not ever want to do alot of mowing in that tall of grass though.
If you have 50 acres to mow and need to mow it often I would go up in size to as big as you can afford. Sure would be nice to get a 8-10 foot mower for that large of tract.

ALL of the compact PUs have gotten heavier and heavier. I have 2 objections to my new Tacoma (vs my old 89 V6 Toyota): I don't like the Xtra cab...the turning radius is awful now. You can not get the V6 4x4 Tacoma with std cab. The second reason is that they have made the suspension softer so the cargo capacity is less than before, too. I got the TRD option (shocks and logo), and that helps the handling, but 1500lb in the bed is too much. I tried it and the suspension bottoms out easily. I am now set up to haul my custom-made dually trailer (limited to 6000 lb).

I have a front blower for my little tractor. The first time I used I realized the advantage of having multiple forward speeds (powershift trans). As the snow depth varied I was able to gear up or down to match the load. Unfortinatly, this sucked when backing up as I have to clutch to shift ranges (only one reverse speed in the range). Not being familiar with your tractor this might be something to consider.
