Steve, you've asked for something that is hard to do. I always use the phrase that every used piece we take in trade will be new to somebody and of coarse that means the better the condition the higher the value within reason. You do have low hours but that only should help to about 10% of the value of the tractor with a maximum of 20% if it is like new. It does sound like it is in good condition and I'd be selling it possibly at 12,500 to 13,500. These are over book value but not by a lot for what you have and local markets will dictate the price. To try to sell it to someone that doesn't have the money or it is not the tractor they are looking for will only mean a lower price. The right application and the need for the tractor will give you a good sale price. ....

Steve take advantage and start a little higher! You'll never get it unless you ask! I have people that I always start 500 higher then where I want to be. I watched them pay more, but the other dealer dropped the 500! Who figures, I like to do it right the first time! Don't forget, if they don't want what you have they probably won't pay no matter how low you go! ....

I would start with a high price and see what happens, I learned this the hard way. Four years ago I bought a JD 650 with a belly mower and bush hog and worked it a lot. It had 1,000 hours on it and it was the first tractor I ever owned. I paid $2,000 for it. The guy wanted the cash right then and there and I bought it. I had no idea what it was worth but I needed a tractor for some work around the house.

Last year, I needed a front loaded and bought a Kubota L2850 and put the JD up for sale for $2,500. A farmer in my area stopped to look at it and told me I could get a lot more for the JD. Well I put the JD in the paper for $5,000 the next day and the day the paper came out the first person bought the JD for the $5,000. So, if I was you, start high. You could always come down. That JD went so quick, I think I could of got more than the 5K for it if I had just advertized it higher. ....
