Has anyone had experience repairing a 48 BH control valve? I have a small leak but all else is working fine. A full repair kit is ~$200 and a new valve $1800. Are there rebuild shops or rebuilt control valves that one can simply "replace"?<br>
Or can one work on only the valve section that needs repair without totally removing the whole valve manifold?<br>

Rural King carries it in the one gallon and spray cans. They had the best price and selection of tractor paints that I could find.

It also sounds like the valve has difficulty in the float position and it needs the kit to keep the balls in place in the control valve. I don't feel that the hydraulic line connections are the problem.

Keep in mind the chinese rate at 12 hour duty cycle not peak. a 25HP Jinma can handle a 5'light to med. duty hog (875lbs of 3 point lift remember so cant get too heavy), 5' matches up nice with the rear tires (when set to 2nd widest configuration). Of course I think a KAMA TS354C would be better suited (could be because I sell them) The 35HP will be nice if the grass gets waist high or you have a lot os saplings and brush, and you also have a 1100lb lift capaicty. but if heavy cutting is rare, you can always just go slower in the rough spots and get by with the 25.

I do not know what year the B7500 is (probably 2000 late to 2004?), the number of hours on it, condition overall including tires, etc.
I'll take a stab on it for you -

Yes, one can tell the age by the serial number. In this units case, the B6200 with s/n 10537 is a 1984 vintage.

As far as the hours go, be mindful, these units still used a three place hour meter. So, consequently, when they reached 999.9 hours, they started over at 000.0 hrs. This unit being a 1984, probably has around 1500 or more hours on it with seeing "normal" home owner use.

Amazing. Here we are in New Zealand with a problem solved by people the other side of the world! We removed, cleaned, proded and poked the oil sending unit, put new plumber's white tape back on it, put it back into the engine block and the loil warning ight now longer comes on when the engine is running. What a great idea....Would take a lot of the 'dread' out of putting on chains...And I might even be able to complete the task without getting too dirty!

I don't know about down here, but there are definitely some up there...worse comes to worse, I guess I could stop by one of their stores on the way up...

My main concern is when I get to about 150' from the drive leading into my property, there is this little hill...probably only about 12--15' high, and maybe 30'-40' long on each side..Gravel road with hard dirt...The neighbor tells me it's the only spot he has trouble with in his 2wd toyota pick up...Another neighbor complains aout it too....I guess it gets a bit slippery...If and when I get to the point where I can buy my backhoe...one of my first projects will be to knock some of the crown off that hill and use the dirt to lengthen the slopes...of course, I want to have the chains regardless, in case I ever hit heavy enough snow that they put up the chain check points...

They weren't sold here in the US but some times parts will go either way. The number you gave won't get far for finding the engine.

Ground source units aren't at all common in this area so we went with WaterFurnace because there were two dealers. We went with the dealer with the best references. Now there are no dealers and we have an orphan. Our supply air temp is nowhere near 120 degrees, last time I measured it was less than 80 degrees with the compressor running on high speed. Extremely poor. No idea who I can go to for an unbiased analysis, so I really feel like hiring a lawyer to write a letter to the installing dealer, WaterFurnace and the loop guy. But I'm whining. I'd estimate the ground temp to be in the 50's too but haven't measured.

As far as radiant heat, I was thinking of going through radiantec dot com. A friend of mine used their stuff in a garage with overhead apartment he built and he was really happy with their product and support and got great results.

Mark, if you have a decent machine shop near you, anybody with a lathe can easily cut the center out of an existing rim, then index and create a new center.

If you were closer I'd do it here for you. It's only about a 2 hours job, including the Tremclad.
