AV8R - What happened to the vision of an all diesel garage?

ie. Jeep Liberty Diesel is not a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

RE: downshifting from mid-range to low-range to get my FEL bucket full struck in stone crete or hard clay soil. That is by driving staight into a pile and maintaining the loader height skimming just above the ground.

In mid-range, I usually can get it only about 3/4 struck before it begins to bogg down and run out of HP. At about that time the hydro has gotten fronts and back to slightly spin and that also poos out. I've always said my tractor could use about another 5 HP. Cadet replaced my 7275 model with 7305 which went from 27 to 30 HP. My neighbor traded in the 7275 (which I got) for the 7305 through our local dealer. He said the extra 3 HP did make a difference.

I don't recommend them being plugged in other then just before use with about 2 hours needed max. There have been more fires do to the wires shorting out then I can remember with the last one being just this fall and a loss of a barn as well.

I would to but when questioning an engineer he told me that it would but not enough to matter over the cost of a clutch job. This is not a new problem but a very old one and I doubt it will go away with the newer clutch pads being more metal then ever.

Murf, I don't believe you can ever or should ever be able to beat a factory cab but I've seen it done before. Going back to the seventies when cabs were first hitting farm tractors we saw quite a few of what I'd call hack jobs to try to keep up with the competition. Deere is supposed to be working a getting there cab up to the standards of the other companies although they haven't said as to it maybe a new model or another update.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I'm especially gratefull to find that it isn't just my problem. I think I'll start with some quick connects and a second adjustable lift arm and go from there.

Doc, a flat blade or blower is n o problem on a propery crowned driveway or laneway.

You make one pass on each side of the crown with the cutting edge flush to the ground on the 'slope' portion. There is rarely ever a little strip of snow left on the top of the crown.

Bear in mind also, to be effective on flat(ish) land a crown doesn't need to be any more than about a 2-3% slope from the centerline out. On a 12' wide lane this only amounts to a drop of about 1.5" or 2" per side, that's really not going to cause you any grief.

My brother had his pole barn done with the spray foam last year. He loves it. He did say it was more expensive than the fiberglass. R-value is higher per inch of thickness if I remember correctly. It does offer some real benifits too. most important, it seals out drafts. It's also not effected by water if it gets wet, doesn't need a vapor barrier, and is supposed to deter mice that just love to burrow in fiberglass. For interior walls, he ran 2x4 purlins on the interior of the posts on 2ft centers, and covered it with some osb he found for cheap. I'd do some searching for a spray foam contractor.

That's good. I got to thinking about it and Tommy at Affordable Tractor knows more about the models than I do so when he said you have to take the top off he is right. when the pin falls out or breaks again it may be better to pull the top and use a bolt like I suggested. It will last longer than the pin.

There should be a fusible link at the starter. On the same post that the battery cable attaches, another wire attaches also that has two connectors within a foot of that terminal. The section of wire between those two connectors is the fusible link. If all connections are clean and tight, this is a good possibility.

Upadate: My 400 sportsman has given me NO problems at all in the first half year I have had it. (ok 5 months but whos counting). Exellent ride. Blows my Honda tottally out of the ball game. we fight over who gets to ride in the caddy!!!

I guess what I'm asking is: Has anyone else mounted one of these on a 1210. If so should I be looking at any safety issues? As you can tell I'm new to this equipment and the lack of any kind of documentaion makes me cautious. I see allot of experiance in these groups. Figured it would be better to ask than have troubles.

In the past i've noted that in stones the PTO units tend to throw them where the ground drive doesn't. Grass seed normall only needs 1/4 inch of loose soil so you might want to be sure you won't be doing more then needed. PTO might need more wear replacement parts because of the positive drive.

I have to retract my statement above. I don't have the new model #'s straight yet. I thought we were talking about filling the tires on the 4115 replacement, not the 2210 replacement.<br>

I think you are better off using wheel weights with 12 inch rims on the rear. If you have 15 to 16.5 inch rims it is still iffy in my book. <br>

I don't think, based on my experience with this class of tractor, that you get as much weight IN the tires as you can get ON the tires, especially if you are using Rim Guard which is not as dense as a calcium solution.
