Ok, I am in for the 20 questions, logic double check.
#1 Did you pull the thermostat and check that it was opening at the proper temperature? Usually #2 or 3 on the hit parade.

Ahh, gotcha. Except it won't do that in practice.

In 1) the pull on the linkage will keep it almost perfectly flat, besides, for the top link point on the implement to move towards the tractor, the blade would have to lift up in the air. The 3pth will not drop below it's set point.

In 2)same as above.

In 3) correct, if the tractor side of the linkage lifts. If not tractor stops, suddenly.

In 4) no arguement, per se.

Overall though you have to remember the upper link doesn't affect the actions of the lower two arms, they will not lift more often or less whether the upper link is there or not, flexible or not. The lower arms are ALWAYS free to float up, and will never drop below the set point, regardless.

But you're right, a rear blade is a poor choice for snow removal in any case.

I was told, by a state trooper, that tractors have a hidden identification number.

No serial number is a good sign it is stolen. If you buy a stolen tractor and get a Bill of Sale, the only thing the Bill of Sale will do is keep you out of jail. It still belongs to the rightful owner.

I had an instance once where we transfer a piece of equipment to a Canadian dealer. I happened to be off that day, well who ever was doing my job messed up and put the wrong piece on the truck. By the time I got to work the next day the damage was done. They got to the border and were not aloud to enter. Wrong serial number. They had to turn around and come back.

Good question: I was working on this problem on the post concerning PTO and HST. My 955 will move a 6 ft HD in regular grass, but it is 32 HP and 27 PTO, but I would not want to do it all the time or in the woods. Therefore I was looking for something a little stouter. <br>
Like the BushHog the Woods mowers increase HP requirement with heavier mowers. The 5' light is 25HP and the 5ft medium is 30 HP requirements. I assume that is gross HP not PTO. You need a good 25 PTO for the medium duty cutter. Deere recommends only the light unit.<br>
This is what started the other post. The older hydrostat drives you lost about 5 HP on the PTO. The newer designs are more like 8 HP. This means you can not run a 5' medium duty rotory mower on the 30 HP tractors (according to specs). With the pounding a mower takes I would not go to a light 5 ft unit unless you have no brush only grass.

Peters, if you are talking about the adjustable scaffold braces sold for Insulated Concrete Form construction, you should not have trouble selling them and recouping your $100 or so per-unit cost. If you don't find a local ICF distributor willing to buy them, check out the forums on the icfweb.com.

I was involved in a couple dozen ICF projects, including 4 of my own.

Been saving up to buy a Kubota B3030. I have the opportunity to get a Cub Cadet 7532 with loader and backhoe. Any input on one vs. the other? Can buy the Cub now (less $) Must wait on the 3030 for another 6 months or more. I' m concerned about parts availability on the Cub and the turbo 32 hp mitsu engine makes me wonder if it's less durable compared to the non-turbo Kubota 30 hp engine. IF I want the Cub, I've gotta move quick. ANY input would be greatly appreciated THANKS GUYS.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I do 10,500 sf of driveway with my 2210/46 single stage combo, and it takes around 30 minutes to do it all. While you may get more snow in your neck of the woods, I have yet to find a situation this set up wasn't good at.

If you only have an ac machine, 6011 will do the job also. You may want to cover the weld with 6013 after.

Harvey, going to a 5" cylinder will also slow it down a little since there is considerably more space for fluid in the bigger cylinder.

The shape of the wedge also makes a HUGE difference in the splitters performance. The ideal splitting wedge has a very narrow section at the front edge, then widens out further back. The lead edge should also NOT be perpendicular to the beam, it should be leading by about 15�, that is the part furthest from the beam should contact the wood first.

That way you are forcing the wood down into the beam, not up off of it, and the part starting into the wood is smaller, and therefore takes less force to get started.

Ann, debating is NOT the same as insulting by any stretch of the definitions.

I would not insult ANY other person without very great provocation, and it would certainly be followed by regret on my part. I do not believe you are a stupid person, and would not stoop to baseless accusations merely for the sake of blowing off steam, I DO get steamed at times, but thankfully was blessed with a goodly share of patience to temper it.

We do agree then on one point at least, there is no place in a forum such as this for personal attacks.

Hello, Seems to be you may be running your front wheel gear boxes dry or water is getting in the box ,check the oil in them and if any of these conditions are there , rebuild them with new bearings and seals ,and maybe jiffey sleeves on seal contack surfaces ,thats what i did with mine and i learned a lessen to look for leakage on the seals and to check the oil level in the boxes every once in a while , hope this helps you , Angelo
