You need to find the source of the fleas. ie, Are they in your yard? Any form of Pyrethrin-based insecticide will kill the fleas. Pyrethrin is derived from Chrysanthemum flowers, and is non-toxic to warm-blooded animals/humans. Spray a zone around your home, and then treat the inside of your home with a Pyrethrin bug bomb.

The biggest problem will be with the water sitting against gears, bearings and pumps causing corrosion. You might also notice some decreased hydraulic action since water does not pump/compress the same way that hydraulic fluid does. I have seen older tractors with water in the hydraulic oil before. It can get in there from rain as in your case or by condensation.

I would use some gasoline antifreeze (methanol) in the hydraulic fluid. The way that I would do this is by pouring in perhaps a quart of methanol followed by the hydraulic fluid into the drained transmission housing. That way the methanol will get the best shot at capturing the water. I would get it warm under light/no load with actuation of the hydraulic cylinders and then drain the hydraulic fluid and throw it away. Eventually any residual methanol will evaporate away.

Methanol will disolve in both petroleum and water based compounds and will pick up any water that generally won't mix with the oil. By running the tractor, you will mechanically mix the fluid and will make the water come in contact with the methanol/oil. The methanol should grab and hold the water in solution so that most of it can be drained out with the oil. With the hydraulic hoses and cylinders, I would take them apart and dump them out to make sure that there is not trapped water in there.

I would also like to mention that often nothing is done with this problem and if the tractor is heated up and used enough, it can also drive much of the water out of the system. If the tractor sits a lot, I think cleaning out the water is prudent.

That's called the clutch interlock. Pull the connector, and put a jumper wire between the two female terminals. If your tractor starts now, it's the interlock. From that point, it's your choice whether or not you want to replace the switch - or keep the bypass.

Deere says that a drift of 6 inches or even more is within specs.

I have found that you can lessen the drift by draining the Low-Vis and replacing it with regular Hy-Gard or similar viscosity fluid.

To clarify a misconception.<br>
BioDeisel:<br>
BioDiesel is generated from biologically generated oil. The easiest are Rapeseed, Canola, and Soybean. In the US, and Europe, this is the basis of most BioDiesel. This is refered to as "SVO."<br>

Burning Oils/Grease directly:<br>
This is feasible in a diesel engine, (but it is NOT BioDiesel). You can mix SVO or WVO(well strained) directly into the Diesel. If you use it straight, normally you start with the "dino" diesel, then switch after the engine is warmed up. Normally, even in summer, you need to heat the SVO/WVO in the tank and maybe in the line to keep it liquid. I do not have specific info on this as it never interested my. Do a web search under "geasemobile" or "svo diesel".<br>

Your description of your sister-in-law sounds like some of the college-age people I know. Wait...it sounds like ALL of the college age people I know. They don't realize that their parents had to work for 25 years to have the lifestyle that they have; the kids want it now, by golly, no waiting. But they don't want to work for it. I know in some cases it is drugs that kills their ambition.

I was talking to a customer the other day and he was talking about how few hours that he is currently putting on his BX23 now that he is done with his excavating for a while. He was at 100 plus hours a year on his prior machines and liked to trade every other year but he is having trouble getting the hours on his with just mowing.

The more openings normally two is the most the better. Bottom open is the most common on more pro units and adjustable spinners help to contain spread.

Such a dilemma! The only thing that might happen from this is the ground gets extrememly compacted and of coarse the grass doesn't grow. I'd be taking it off even with it being a bit intimitaing initially. I certainly after having the option of both mowers find it really hard to beat the cut of the belly mower. The thought that you can operate the hoe with the belly mower on and that you only need to remove the hoe and you don't need to add the three point hitch makes me happy. I would remove the deck for heavy excavation but otherwise happy digging!

12 to 18" should be plenty. You don't want to go too steep or it will clog with leaves, etc. Any grade shallow enough to only flow slowly is adequate.

I have a 2520, diesel, syncro-range tractor w/ a pto problem. It started out not turning off completely. Now it runs fine for 1 hr, then slows down but never stops. Sounds like a clutch, right? My dealer tells me that it doesn't have a pto clutch. I've changed filters and fluid. I would love to talk w/someone that really knows this model. I'm planning on rebuilding the pto clutch valve just because I can easily reach and don't have any other ideas.<br>
