Brian, it's not uncommon for bolts to loosen up on any machine. Are you going around and tightening up bolts on a regular basis?

thanks for your reply oneace there are two pins i think that hold it place, i can work out how to take the loader off but i wondered how it is supported once removed.
(back to the two long brackets that are clipped to the loader approx 1m long by 1" squrare. three inch from the bottom they are bent over at 45 degrees) i and numorous other people can,t work out what they are for we can,t see anywhere they would fit. i could send a photo if it possible

I'm a contractor. I don't want to be an alarmist but anyone when it comes to topsoil, mulch or even concrete should be wary of those who sell and/or truck it. Around here, short-loading is a HUGE problem. What they do is they say they are selling/delivering 30 yards---in a 24-yd truck no less! But when you get it you're lucky if you get 20yds. Even if they do deliver the volume they say they will, you are buying a "fluffy yard", not a "compacted yard" which your computations are based on. I tell my customers 1.)They deal directly with the top soil seller, that way they aren't mad at me when they are shorted. 2.) Figure on losing at least a third to half of the original volume. So as the saying goes "figure on how much you need then double it". To keep your topsoil guy honest go to a manager/owner and give them the dimensions you are working with that you want to fill. Let them tell you how much you need and what it will cost for the whole job. An honest guy will tell you about compaction loss and figure that in (or at least remind them of it). So tell them that since they are the professional you are relying on their professional input to determine the amount. One way or another get them to commit to not the yardage but the price---the job isn't done until, ALL the dirt is there---regardless of how much soil is needed the price will not change. And they will need to keep bringing in soil until your expectations which is what you agreed upon are met. Before I had my customers buy the topsoil I saw my jobs taking 2-3 times what I figured on ($2000-$4000 more) all due to short-loading. And the guys I bought from were friends so I thought. <br>

A dishonest guy will him-haw around and be non-committal about the yardage---they figure you are at their mercy so you will---and have to---pay anything to get the job done and overwith.<br>

By the way, concrete redi-mix suppliers will try this same thing if they can get away with it. A friend was a party once and was talking with a concrete supply owner---he boasted that he makes $250,000 over and above his regular sales just because of short-loading--the last time this happened to me it cost me $250 for a 1/4 yard and they were literally next door. <br>

If you are wondering if you got what you paid for and you are using a loader, count how many level or "struck" buckets you get from each load then multiply that by the "struck" cubic foot or yard capacity which may be stamped on your bucket or you can have your dealer tell you. Then if there is a problem, you have solid evidence you have been ripped off, or rest assured you got your money's worth.<br>

I replaced the stock feed belt with a longer one which places the transmission at the back of the slotted holes. The further back you go the less angle you have on the square knuckle drive.

I hope this is the right place. If I've entered questions about this topic in the wrong forum, please accept my apologies. I'm trying to find some reviews on field and brush mowers and have been looking at the Billy Goat Outback, the DR Field and Brush mowers and I hear Simpliciy/Snapper make one as well. I was hoping someone could stear my in the right direction to determine which might be a better machine...longevity, durability, reliability, etc. I sincerely appreciate your time.<br>

a whole turbo is around $600. A factory seat is about $125. I would say a fair price would be about $5500 to $6000 trade and $7000 - $8000 private sale as is. Fully repaired $12,500 to $13,500 private sale.

Depends how bad you run it out of fuel. If it starts to sputter and you shut it down right away most times you will be able to get a way with just adding more fuel to the tank. If not you better have a wrench available.

Art, Thanks for the prompt reply. You read my mind. I contacted my dealer and it will take 4 days to get the parts and the parts depot is less than 50 miles away. There is NO kit, all parts are ordered individually and my dealer only stocks 1 "O" ring. What a way to do business. This simple pump has a "main shaft seal" which is a "weak link" in the system. In addition to that seal, there are 4 identical "O" rings for the 4 gear shaft ends, a cover "O" ring and a pressure port "O" ring. This pump is not complicated, but why Kubota did not make a repair kit for it is beyond common sense.

She is only part of the problem. The bigger issue is the people who let her get away with it. Such behaviors never get better on their own. They only get worse with age.

The parents in this case need to invite her out of their house and you must lay the law down that she can only visit if she can act in a rational manner, otherwise she will find herself on the doorstep with her things.

If your wife refuses to draw the line in her own house, then you can arrange to stay somewhere else during the visit. Take the kids with you. Let the ones who deserve her the most deal with her behavior.

My favorite description of police work is: Cops go to places where there are people who have NO internal controls and apply external controls to them. Most everything carried on a policeman's belt is some sort of external control device.

The miscreants get to choose how much external control they will need. The level of force spans a huge range: from forceful words to shooting.

If it helps, three of my six siblings are not allowed over my threshold and another is working hard to achieve that status. If he can't keep a civil tongue in his head, he will be dis-invited too.

So my Sis-in-law hates me and will be visiting

Denwood: Last year I removed (28) dead trees from a subdivison development that were 3-5 years old. All had baskets, and all had burlap still around the ball. The natural burlap wasn't decomposed at all. In another case I removed six trees that were 10 years old and the same thing--wire baskets and good burlap.<br>

Crunch: Yep I have broken a few basket wires but I just find another one, or two close to each other. Don't stand the tree up---you lay the tree on its side and pick up and transport it to the hole that way. You can also use the backhoe to reach behind and under the root ball too. Takes some practice, and you'll probably grab some surrounding dirt when you dig under it---no biggie. <br>

As far as removing the basket (if the customer wants it that way) I use a cordless circular saw with a DeWalt or Ryobi carbide blade (other brands don't hold up). I have cut through hardened Master locks on vacated storage facility doors in a matter of 2-3 seconds---no joke (try it sometime). Use eye and hand protection as the flying chips really hurt!

Broken, this issue of retirement is a difficult one. I have started to think lately that maybe I should just plan on "downsizing" my job to fewer and fewer hours per week but I'd better have money coming in forever. Maybe its better for our health to keep moving in our older years and always have something going on.

I think the most important thing is whether we are living a healthy life in our later years and to not be bed-ridden. (And for those who have seen my beer gut in pic 13, I can happily report that I have lost 30 lbs and have been on the treadmill almost every day since beginning of year.)

I just bought a NEW HOLLAND TC-30 Compact tractor. It is Hydrostat drive with high , medium, and low range.
It is also 4 wheel drive.
I had a 60 inch Front end loader installed ,
And a 60 inch mid mount loader installed .
Also had them put a block heater on it.
I had the R4 Industrial tires put on it.
Ive looked at a lot of tractors, red, green . blue, orange etc. but price, quality , and service are on top of eveyones list.
The only problem I had in the end to decide was between the TC-24 OR TC-30.
I went with the TC-30 because I brush hog abought 8-10 acers of land and want to try to use a tiller to plant a couple food plots. (I have a 5 ft. brush hog.)
So far I,ve mowed the lawn and brush (mostly hay ) cut around 4 acers of land .
I love the tractor its like driving a cadilac compared to some I,ve driven.
Tractor has great power and the turning radius is great.
Make sure you compare all the options before you decide.
One nice extra was they just extended the Hew Holland 0 % financing to 5 yrs.

Sears was having Ryobi make their cordless drills. I don't know who is making the Ridgid drills.
I also have a Ridgid table saw which I believe is good quality. It has had 5 years of steady use. Craftman professional was selling the same saw. I did see it branded with another name, which was a quality maker but can not recall now. When Home Depot bought Ridgid they only made had tools and most were for plumbing. The only other ridgid tools I have owned are the pipe cutters, benders and flaring tools.
I think any of the manufactures can have a clunker in the pot. For example no one has mentioned Porter Cable which has a good reputation. I have a 6" sander that has many hours of use with no problems. I also have a hammer drill that was repaired once. The used Hilti was a suburb drill which I am sorry I sold.

In general if the system is sucking even a little air it will aerate the fluid which will cause the pump to cavitate (and will cause rapid pump wear).

The above will also happen if the reservoir is too low, so check it.

Either check the system reservoir for foamy oil (by the dip stick) or slightly crack open a larger volume hydraulic line and check for foamy oil spurting/spraying out (if you're not familar with doing this---take it to a dealer as you may injure yourself with high pressure fluid which can rupture or even cut flesh or get in your eyes)

Also the wrong fluid---even from the factory--will cause aeration. For example my NH skid steer uses 10W-30 motor oil for hyraulic fluid, but my NH TC33D uses something like very thin motor oil but it's not. Yet my backhoe uses automatic trans fluid.

I have recenty installed a bush hog brand loader on my JD 6400. Where is the best place to connect to the hydraulic supply and return? I am currently using one of the remote outlets which is not satisfactory. I also have a problem with the 3PH lift arms. They will not move with any setting change. I suspect an electrical problem. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
