Hi fellas, I just split my B7200 due to the clutch creeping and noise in the housing. When I took the flywheel off, I noticed that the center hole is worn eggshaped. It appears that the mounting holes and center hole is a sleeve that could be pressed in. Can I press the old one out and get a new one to press in or am I into buying a complete flywheel. Also, what would be the cause of the center hole in the flywheel wearing egg shaped ? Thanks for any replies.

Thirteen seasons on my 5' BH Squealer. Kept outside until the barn was completed four years ago, very little negative effect on it. I bought the clutch to protect the gear box, extra hundred or so at the time. Seems I paid around eight or nine hundred at the time.

Nice to hear from you all again! Yes Dennis, this has been totally consuming. Once you add in the usual chores, the wife's broken ankle and going to work to earn more $$$ to spend on her....where did the time go!! Hopefully I can re-balance my life again, yet it has been a labor of love.

Some questions:
-Is the rim factory equipment?
-Is the rim turned around making it stick out farther?
-From looking at the Kioti web sites it looks to me that the area of the rim where you say it broke is somewhat flat--correct?
-Do you do a lot of loader work that requires you to drive over large obstacles when fully loaded?
-Do you make a lot of turns when fully loaded--especially when not moving? (shouldn't matter, but I'm curious)
-Have you looked at the bearings of the failed wheel for play or damage?
-Does the tire itself show abnormal wear?
-Have one or several wheel lugs/nuts come loose before the failure?
-And the biggie: has a neighbor or brother-in-law ever borrowed it?

I believe the tach and hour meter are run buy a cable. Before buying any parts check for current at the shut off solenoid when you turn the key off to determine which part is faulty. The tail light sounds like the switch is faulty allowing current to pass when off.

I use a 5' KK rottay cutter to mow fields commercially. I always tell a new customer what to expect before I begin: for relativley tall grass most of the grass will not get mulched or cut into small pieces like a finish mower and it won't be pretty since it will leave a windrow which typically has longer grass under it since the tires pack it down which neve gets cut. I looked into flail mowers but my dealer says they require as much as 30% more HP to turn them. But the result, to me, would be worth it if you need something that looks good.

I think you'll find both to be very reliable and high quality tractors. But, you're asking a loaded question, kinda like Fords verses Chevys. Just cause your cousin says "Kubotas eat New Hollands" (or whatever) don't make it so.

You need to go to both dealers and TRY OUT both machines and see which machine fits you better, which dealership gives you a better "feel" for their services, which dealership treats you better and make your decision off of that data. In the end, your dealer relationship and their support will mean a whole lot more to you than what color the hood is painted.

This discussion points out exactly why I have the '61 IH Scout that I do. In addition to being a collector's item, it makes a great utility vehicle. I bought it with a full length cab but I ditched that in favor of an original half cab that leaves the 5' bed open. Much more handy around the acreage. I use it to haul firewood, hay bales, branches, sand and dirt, garden produce, and a lot more. And, with an 8000-lb PTO winch, it can do work that an ATV couldn't touch. Just the other week we used it to skid a 1600 bushel grain bin back on a new pad at my in-law's farm. And, like pointed out previously, it is fully street legal. All for a total investment of about $2000 which includes a complete engine rebuild, new tires, and the additional cab.
About the worst part of using this type of vehicle for an ATV is the wide turning circle. I think my extended cab F-150 can turn shorter than the Scout. Newer vehicles with open knuckle front axles (like the previously mentioned Samuri, Toyota pickup, Jeep, etc.) can turn a lot better.

The user name was actually the vanity plate when my wife got her corvette a few years back. Obviously meant to imply that once the "kids were gone" she could aford the car and didn't need the extra seats! We miss our two not being home as well, but were recently blessed with the first grandchild (luckily a boy for Pappy's sake). He already has a New Holland Pedal Tractor and a New Holland wagon. Going to get him blue blood one way or another and 10 weeks is not too early to start!

Why don't you just use the tractor hydraulics? The tractor has more GPM than the factory PTO pump does.

The frost free hydrants have a valve at the bottom as you know. When the valve is closed to water flow, a port is opened at the bottom to allow the standpipe to drain and prevent freezing. You can try lengthening the rod to push harder, but at the same time you are changing the amount that it will rise. Doing this too much will cut down on flow when open, and possibly allow the tiny port to allow drainage at the same time. Too much drainage will saturate the ground and not allow the standpipe to drain effectively and it may freeze. I have replaced 2 at my garden center recently and even new, they were out of proper adjustment.

No doubt you know what your talking about oneace. The dealer could have told me almost anything and I would not have known the difference. I have a lot to learn about tractors and the way they are built. I tried moving some dirt piles an hour ago (re-delivery was an hour before that today) and the tractor seems to be OK. For sure the shaking, vibration, etc is gone. Thanks to all for the input.

Make sure you also check the BH couplings too. I've had this problem a few times, and it was always a coupling not fully "coupled." Good luck.

I have read nearly everything on this and the other tractor sites since the rtv came out. We did buy on, with 120 hours on it now. Tooled around last night for a few hours, thinking back on the discussions, as well as 40 years of owning these types of things. Came to the realization that the rtv suites me just fine. BUT, if purchased more than 5 years ago I would have been dissatisfied. For me, the right machine has depended upon where I was at in life. Went through the dirt bike racing period, the souped up machines, the hell on wheels period. For me now the strenths and limitations of the rtv are acceptable. Thats why I did a lot of research on this machine. It's not a climber, nor speedy. But the comfort, reliability, etc. match's what I want in this stage of my life.

Hi, I'm a new member and if you would not mine,
Could you please tell me if you would think a $19,995 for an HST3130 is too high? I live in Spokane Washington State
and that is the price that was quoted to me by the dealer up here in Spokane.

I read in your email reply to Jerryb1973 that this same model had only cost you about $13,000 without a loader or any other accessories and seems like a great price.

I would have to agree with the earlier posters and say that both of these tractors are way too small for your needs. Look AT LEAST one or two chassis sizes bigger.

There are all sorts of interesting alternatives around now.

Some of them seem pretty strange at first, but I have seen them used, and if you don't know what they are you would likely be surprised to learn.

Amongst them;

Chipped up old roofing shingles, the coloured aggregate sparkles, they are treated and do not break down or attract insects or other pests. Also makes good pathway material.

Ground up car tires, it makes a nice uniform black pebble about 1/4" in size, again, no pests or deterioration. It really sets of small coloured flowers since it makes a totally black background.

Ground recycled concrete. They grind it down to whatever size is desired and then wash out the fine particles, it can even be coloured if desired during the wash process.

Ground recycled clay bricks, makes a nice 'antique' effect as mulch, also makes excellent walkways.

The big advantage to most of these products is that since they are recyled material, they are inexpensive.
