I bought a L2850D used and everything worked when I got it. It has been about 3 weeks and now I have a electrical problem and I beleive it all must be tied to the same thing. Here is what does not work:
1. Tack and hour meter does not work.
2. Tractor will not shut off with the key.
3. Rear tail light is on all the time.

Does anyone have any ideas. I am thing of replacing the timer relay for the engine shut off thinking it is somehow linked to the three problems.

I believe the tach and hour meter are run buy a cable. Before buying any parts check for current at the shut off solenoid when you turn the key off to determine which part is faulty. The tail light sounds like the switch is faulty allowing current to pass when off. ....

Thanks for the advice on the tach and hour meter. The cable did work its way loose. I reconnected and they work now.

As far as the engine shut off, both the timing relay and the solenoid where bad. I replace both and everything functions correctly now. I am guess the timing relay went first and then the solenoid. Expensive parts, relay was $60 and solenoid was $70. ....
