thanks for the input i have a .25 mile driveway
and i have lots of treetops to pull out and cut up
i want to make sure i am getting the right tractor
i have 22 acres of woodland that we cut 5 acres for our house and barn with aprx. 3 acres being pasture
(hard to get pasture to grow in woods) but we are
trying. need a tractor that is going to be my maintanance
go to machine. what attachment do you use to do
your snow removal? also the tractor i like is the
shuttle shift 7530 model, really liked it

I own one of the above mowers. When it has been used a while and gets hot, whan you kill it, it will start but the PTO will not engage and the power steering will not work. Also you can't cut it off with the key. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks James

My local dealer has located a 4210 for me from another dealer. My dealer is offering the following price on the tractor and attachements. Can someone let me know how this price stacks up?<br>

Tractor includes: 4210, Hydro 4wd, R4, block heater for 16,639 (basically loaded). 1,100 dealer incentives/rebates so the tractor is now 15,539. New 655 tiller at 1,939. 300x FEL w/Ballast at 3,313. 60"MMM at 2,450. Another 300 off due to multiple attachments. <br>
Total price w/rebates etc = 22,941 before tax.<br>

Hi again Sadmag,

Power Steering on my tractors were run from a fan-belt driven pump on the left side. A small tank held fluid above the exhaust manafold. Everything in the aftermarket kit was neatly piped to the pump and tank.

I have also seen units that used the same pump for FEL and PS. Now that must be an exciting experience lifting a full bucket and turning at the same time! For a 30+ year old designed tractor it was still better than all manual.

Where is the pump now for the FEL? Is it belt driven or from the front of the crankshaft?

I "knew" two guys that used either to seat the beads all the time. They how ever do not do it any more. The first one lost half his head when a wheel that was not welded properly blew apart. The second took tire shrapnel to the chest. Today they are worm food.

Have you considered turning part of your acreage into something
other than lawn grass? For example, you could put in a pond.
Our neighbors did this. They frequently throw "pond parties", which are a big hit. Or, you could convert some of your lawn into a meadow of warm-season tallgrass & flowers. Once the grass is established, it no longer needs frequent mowing. It also looks magnificent and makes great habitat for quail and other wildlife. You could plant a wood lot. If you're in farm country, you could grow hay and have a farmer bale it. Or fence it in and graze sheep or llamas. There are lots of interesting, more or less productive alternatives to lawn grasses. Maybe one of them would fit your neighborhood style and save a little on maintenance time.

Realizing I might sound like a pessimist, but they don't make things the way they used to. You can bet there will be something wrong with anything you buy today, if not with the product then with the salesman. (Because it was not relevant to the TC45 problem I did not mention the dealer make a big mistake on the invoice which has to be corrected before the transaction is a done deal). I'll be sure to post the probelm results here when I know myself.

I've just been looking at both brands, Zen Noh (Yanmar) 3000 and a Mitsu 3250. I'm told the YM is 35 Hp and the Mitsu is 38 Hp. Main difference is that M has 5 gears and the YM 4 gears, 4 cyl vs. 3. Anything else I'm missing on which to buy? Prices are within $100 of each other.

That's a good idea. You're right, those gearboxes look sort of puny for the job they do. Hope it holds up. One of these days I have to learn to weld.

I am looking at a Kubota L3300 Tractor with Bush Hog loader. It's got about 400 hours on it, appears to be in very good condition. It's 33 hp, Rear and mid pto, 12 Forward/12 Reverse GlideShift Transmission. The owner is offering it for $12,500. I feel like this is a reasonable price based on what I've seen for sale on the internet but was hoping someone out there might be able to let me know if this is reasonable. Thank you!

I have a Internation 434 desiel that is producing more black smoke that it used to. I don't really work it that hard but now under any load is seems to create more black smoke than usual<br>

I have owned a 23 Wellcraft, then a 32 Chris Craft with gen, air - the works. We had lots of fun on the 32 but it became too all consuming. We did have some great adventures on it (1000 mile trip out erie canal - up St Lawrence to Montreal - down to Champlain and home). <br>

I now have a 21 regal which I like the best. Pack her up at home - roll it 2 miles down hill to the hudson - crank her up to 55 MPH and have some fun - then take her back home with me. Minimal investment, no dock fees, cheaper fuel, no zebra mussels to worry about. I bought it in private deal for $14K with 60 hours on it. <br>

When we were building out a course in the islands they had made up a small screen for cleaning up a little topsoil that had been contaminated with gravel and stuff.

It was a rectangular steel frame on tall legs, like a big table with no top on it. A chain in each corner suspended a smaller rectangular frame that had a steel mesh bottom. There was a hydraulic motor attached to the hanging frame that spun an off-center cam, that caused a vibratory / shaking action depending on the speed the motor turned.

It worked well, but it sure looked like an explosion in a structural steel plant.

2ndhand - The trator has never been roller/tipped by me and I bought it new. I haven't run into anything with the ROPS either. So only issue would be at install, a manufacturing issue or an incident prior to my purchase of the unit. I should complain to the dealer and see what/if they will do anything about it.

I have a Massey 1217 backhoe I need to plumb into a PTO pump. When sitting in the hoe seat looking at the controls, there is a hose on the left and a hose on the right. Both same size. Can someone tell me which is pump side and which is return, or does it matter? My understanding is that the pump will circulate all the time and draw from the loop as necessary. I also need to know if I need a pressure relief in the system or if one of the stubs on the control valves does that function? I going to put a tank with a filter on the return side just before the tank. Is a Prince pump the best PTO pump to get 5.1 gal per minute is my need?
