I understand that if there is nothing connected to the blocks that the caps serve as pass-thru devices. It's when a pass-thru cap is removed and the actual two port cap is put in place that the circuit is tapped, or the loop broken for hydraulic devices to be inserted into the main loop.

I use a rock rake to level the loose dirt and rake most of the rocks off and pick them up with a bucket. Then I go over the whole area again with a hand rake and shovel up the remaining smaller rocks, roots, etc. This of course does not get rocks out that are under the surface of the soil. But I imagine it would be sufficient for most homeowners.

When I was a kid my dad plowed 3 acres with a horse, then paid us kids 10 cents a pile to pick up the rocks he raked out by hand. Ended up being a beautiful lawn with swimming pond and raft. Took me 6 hours to mow it every week. I wish we had a rock rake then!

I put the clutch post on in case there is something I can share with another 7800 owner out of some recent issues. I have 115 meticulously cared for hours on my 7800 and experiencing problems that aren't easily explained. After some discussions on this forum, it has now been determined that the clutch is working properly(dealer opinion), but the pto contunues to spin when the clutch is dis-engaged. What the ...?

If I learn something worth sharing with other 7800 owners, I'll let you know. It's at the dealer now for surgery.

Just a thought but has anyone checked the air pressure? Should be under 10 lbs depend ing on your weight.

Many of the new books don't give the serial number to year conversion but being a hydro yours has to be the second generation which means it was built in the early 90's.

Duke, I'd say you would be spending a lot of money! The new hoods are nice but you would also be getting into the dash area to match the hood.

My 2210 backhoe mounts are welded to the bottom of the FEL mounting posts and stick straight down 3�. They do not interfere with the 62C MMM fully raised. Your 4110 is taller so it might clear. For comparison, my sub-frame brackets are 11 1/8� from the ground.

I thought it was just my computer acting up when I noticed tractorpoint no longer fits. I'm at 1024x768 and I have to scrrrrrrrroll to the left&right to see everything on the screen. It's been driving me nuts!

I'd like to suggest maybe consolidating the two advertising columns on the right into one to help with the scrolling/pagewidth issue.

I'd rather not see the text going to a smaller font. With so much text to read, it'll be hard for some of us if the text is made tinier.

Or maybe this is more an issue with the message board settings? Is the width of the column the board itself uses a fixed # pixels or %? Can you set it to make the message board text fill up the width not already in use by the ad columns (but never exceeding site visitor's res)?

Thanks for the info. I'll get over to the JD dealer with my serial number and see if they intend to fix the problems or not.

As far as dealers and manufacturers I think I jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire by buying an orange zero turn mower rather than a green one. ;-)

Found a 1953 MT in really nice shape. Runs great, all new tires and seat, touch o matic, single front tire, complete 3point, pto works etc... owner is asking 2500.00, is that about right. Also, any idea of the H.P. for these two cyl. gas motors for 1953?? Thanks for any info.

I've posted the latest link I can think of below. Fabricating a quick attach frame for your forks should be a relatively easy project. I need to do the same thing. The simplest way might be to buy a quick attach plate that already has the mounts cut into it. You can get them for $125 or so at larger implement dealers. They may not look as nice as a tube frame mounting system though.

It's not a real common sight, but probably a half dozen times I've saw a hawk take off with a snake in it's grasp. This spring I had several red tail hawks watch over me as I tilled ahead of the corn planter, they would pick up a mouse on a pretty regular basis. If we only had eyesight like them. Frank.

Probably in the Hinomoto forum, but I suppose there's little difference between the Japanese and Chinese charging system. Have you tested the specific gravity? the output of the alternator? If you're not sure how, it might be simpler to simply test for voltage difference at the battery. With the engine off, check the voltage between the battery's positive post and ground. Then start the engine and do it again. An increase of up to two volts means the charging system is working. No change means either the battery isn't taking the charge, or the alternator isn't providing one

About the only thing you would need for a Stihl is gas and oil! Seriously, I would be shocked if you have to touch it for a long, long time. Some of the other upper scale brands mentioned in this thread are good, solid units, but I KNOW you will be happy with a Stihl. Lots of future options you can add if you get the straight shaft...but may not be as comfortable as the curved shaft....check them both out.

Baldor had me as a life customer five seconds after I turned on my Baldor bench grinder. It was so smooth and quiet it just oozed quality. You could hardly tell it was running.

Thanks for the link, AV8R. Eastwood has a two speed buffer but it's $50 more than the Baldor. I wonder if there's a reasonably priced speed control that will work on these. It would be great to get the 3600 rpm and throttle it down as needed. Maybe that's easier said than done.

Although we don't have a barn yet, our timber-framer provided a 1st floor radiant slab and a basement slab (for my workshop). The basement slab is insulated w/ 2" blue-board beneath; the radiant tubing and components are supplied by "Wirsbo".

You should speak to a local plumber how has done this work before, has the (radiant) tools, and is comfortable in working w/ radiant. I keep the cellar at about 61 deg. - it's cool initially, but once you start working, it becomes almost hot.
