clean and re-grease the shafts. re-assemble and install with tiller on tractor. carefully, very carefully, raise and lower the tiller and watch for the shaft bottoming out (running out of travel). make sure the shaft never fully collapses. if it does, cut more off. major damage to tractor if you don't.

We are moving lock, stock, and barrel to the ranch in 6 weeks. Been busy moving stuff the movers won't take and fixing up the house and ranch to move into. Had to deal with a few minor disasters such as the septic tank banking up, and the well running dry. Also been putting up "Posted" no trespassing signs which is incredibly time consuming but the getting out and hiking is great. Rescued a fantastic little pup (Max) from death row at the animal shelter and been training him. Until I sell the place we are currently living in; I have 2, 2 acre yards to keep mowed and trimmed, not to mention that the ranch house yard has been neglected for about 6 years and the trees needed big time pruning and trimming. I still have to get fences repaired and live stock watering systems back up and running after MANY years of neglect. The previous owner was injured and later died and the place just sat. It is a beautiful place but needs lots of TLC.

Thanks for the input. I have loaded R4s and a FEL. I'll have to check the width of my tires -- I thought a 48" box blade would cover the tracks -- if not, I'll definitely have to go bigger.

I like the extra weight of the 60" unit, but am concerned that the extra volme might be too much.

I have a 2 wheel drive L2350 with 324 hours in good condition. It has 5 ft. brush hog, box blade, spear, and post hole attachments. Want to sell and replace with a 4 wheel drive with a front end loader. Need to know a fair price for the tractor with and without attachments. Thanks, Bob

If you're not using it anymore, get rid of it... end of problem. To discourage them from messing with your new grill, consider one of those tight fitting covers.

Re: chimney birds. They may be chimney swifts (a protected species). Instead of pulling out a gun next time you see an animal in the house, try a net instead. If you have an ongoing problem with these birds, have a cap put on the chimney.

It is decision time and I had come to the conclusion that the Kubota L3430 would best suit my needs - but while visiting a couple dealers over the weekend, 1 of them mentioned that I could not run a 72" midmount mower deck with industrial tires. This is the first time I had heard of this - any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!<br>

Ouch! That is expensive! I'll just use my B7610 in my garden instead. Don't understand why they (Cub) doesn't make a $200 sleeve hitch like Sears does for their "Garden Tractors" so you can use light duty garden inplements at a reasonable price. Thanks Art.

Mother Nature got me too! Didn't get my yard waste taken care of either. The week before I started my sprinkler system up North at the condo. Was staying down state, so my sprinklers were running water on top of 6 inches of snow. We got together with another couple last night. They live on a dirt road. My car nor anything I've ever owned has been this dirty. Anyway, the girls went to see Elton John at the Palace in Auburn Hills. Bob and I went to the bar and got blasted. My head hurts today. Does anybody know if Elton likes to be the engine or caboose? The girls said the concert was good. The beer and hotwings were also good.

Spartan a TC33 does have cruise control and also a 3 year warranty. I have had work done at my house by people who have JD and kubota tractors. These are contractors and landscapers who are also friends so instead of hauling their machines to my house I let them use mine. To my suprise all three thought my NH performed better espeacially the backhoe. There was no reason for them to say this and before they used my tractor they all ribbed me for buying a NH. These are guys that make their living being on their machines all day long. All three said they would look at NH when buying their next machine.

How is that 300cx loader? My 4410 is going in to get one tomorrow...I opted for the HD 73" loader for an extra $268. I am looking forward to begin to use it immediately. Do you use additional rear weight (blade, weight box, wheel weights, or loaded tires) or have you been going with just the wieght of the tractor. My next purchase is the RB 1172 rear blade (505 pounds I believe)for grading and counter weight. I'll have to be careful until then I guess.

Steel prices.......

I just went to one of my steel suppliers, SIMS/Metal. They cost more than PDM, but I do not have to buy full sized pieces. A36 bar stock was about $0.62/lb. It was about $0.38 at PDM about a year ago. Cold-rolled was over buck, however.

I recently picked up my new trailer (made to my specs, 6x12 with steel deck, 2 axle, sides, brakes, etc) and they did not put ANY paint underneath! Just raw steel, exposed to the elements. BTW, this unit cost $1750 out the door, with license, tax, etc. The paint on top was just crappy, but at least there was paint!

I see how much my loaders have twisted when I lift heavy things (800+ lb) with hooks on the sides. I now only lift with centrally-mounted grabber hooks welded the center of the BACK of the loader or fork. The best setup, IMHO, is the chunk of 1/2" steel with MULTIPLE 3/8" slots cut into it for a choice of positions, again welded to the back center of the loader, not the top. Easier to weld on, too, as AC5Z0 says.

I also have the chain grabber mentioned by ScooterMagee. I use it to hoist engines and such.....very easy to reposition. It could work well on a loader, too.

I picked up this digger at an auction, with a 10" and 18" auger for $200. Its really heavy duty,and need some input. 1/2 of the "FORD" id tag is gone,but the numbers "22 BU 2103" are still there. The gearbox is huge compared to a KK,any ideas?
