I have had mine for 7 months now with about 400 hours on it. I have used it to dig utility trenches, spread loom & gravel, install lawns, brush hog, lots of loader work loading my trucks with material, snow plowing (plows like a champ!), Pile brush with the grapple, Dig out 12" - 15" stumps, dig & bury 500 gallon propane tanks & the list goes on & on. It is a work horse & I have had no disapionts. I have the GST & have absolutly no regrets & would no change a thing if i was able to. I had a JD prior that I traded in & the only thing I slightly miss is the joystick location for the loader but I am looking into modifying that now. The reach capacity & lift wieght is awsome, the engine is nice & smooth & quiet which I am not sure I would appreciate if I hadnt owned the JD prior & the Quick attach(skid steer mount) bucket is priceless...if i need an attachment on a job but dont have the money to buy it at that time I just go to the nearest Bobcat dealer & rent the attachment! I rate it 9.5 because nothing is perfect.

Thats fine as long as my name is not brought up again. My dialog with you is over and has been for some time. I dont like that another party brought up my name again as some excuse to ramble along with you. Neither of you actually kept with the topic of this thread, which is fine as long as I'm not brought up again. Since I clearly stated I do not want dialogue, I will see as a direct conflict and will act accordingly.
Believe me I dont walk around playing victim, and I suspect the amount of time you devote to responses and subject matter makes me believe you have zero social skills outside a tractor forum. i purchased A jd 7 BACKHOE brand new in 01' for my 99' JD790 & when I decided it was time to upgrade to a larger tractor, I traded the whole TLB in & they gave me a good trade in value. they told me they would have givin me $5000 less with no backhoe & this was just this last summer so it did make a large difference sell it as a package.

I am sorry I took so long to get back to you all. I see some really good advice and information Will try and cover all that has happened. When checking the back brakes last time I only pulled off one side and did not inspect thouroughly (My stupidity). The outside on the pass. side was decent at that time. Wrong!!! I just tore everything apart 3 weeks ago. (what an easy job!!) Love those 4wl disk. I think Av8R called alot of what was going on (he must have had one LOL) Back brakes were wore un evenly and corrosion and crud had built up on both the top and bottom of the uneven wear points. On one side I had only about 1/2"-5/8" of solid contact. The drivers side was a bit better but only on the outside. The rotors probably could of been turned. I know when I turned the front they only have enough for ONE turning on them since I did it myself and took the bare min. off and am at the low limits. Only took about .030 off (total of both sides). I made a executive decision! Re-place with new ones and clean up the old ones when I get back to work and sell on e-bay. This will eliminate any doubt I may have if further problems occur. TRY $92.75 a piece!!! Pads were a decent average price. What a easy job on those back brakes! So I was hoping I had the problem fixed. After further review NOT!! BUT with out a dought, the backs were helping next to nothing for stopping and the fronts were taking the load. This was part of the cause for early anti lock kicking in. I do believe I have a combination of problems and many of the posts here have hit a bit on the causes. The brakes definately are helpng now cause on dry pavement I dont feel like I am being thrown thru the front window anymore my just the fronts working properly. The anti's do not kick in as often or as soon as before but they still are not right. I think I mentioned in the first post that the dealer (on my complaints after the accident) said he changed a computer code or setting to try and help with this. Although you would think (if there really is such a thing!) it would be set harder to go off and not easier? I wonder if I should not go talk to the dealer, bring in the back rotors and show him them! Tell him to look up my last complaint about the brakes and what they DONE to fix them! Then politely ask him if after observing the rotors if he thinks I should of been told of this problem? Or if he even see's this as a problem? Then I would have him between a rock. I would think he would have to talk to his mechanics and ask why the hell they did not pull off the tires to check this basic function? I can't believe they did or they would of suggested this to be fixed also? What do you think? Then I would nicely say that my brakes are still acting up badly and would like them to switch back what ever they done to the factory settings? FOR FREE since apparently they never checked a basic component of the braking system. My conplaint read,
"Customer. say's anti-locks are activating early and often" Would you say that they should of atleast notified me? I think I also have the pads still, maybe I should bring them in also. Untill this time the dealer in question has been outstanding! In the service department. Even though I did not buy the truck from them they have been outstanding with my service and will more than likely buy from them if they can compete even remotely in price the next time.
Anyway you all had real great answers and many of you may of hit it on the edge of a few problems going on with it. Thanks alot guys. BTW. Just a bit of "411" When performing the removal of the calipers, there are 2 bolts that need to be removed on each caliper. That is it! Here is something that took me awhile to figure out. There is a rubber boot on this bolt. you need to slip a open end wrench in between the boot and the retainer. This bolt has a slip nut that it goes into and you really cant see it cause of the rubber boot. You will be turning that bolt for ever wondering why it dont come out all the way. One of them came out but that was because it was salted together. After looking at the book I found this out. After that (I shit you not) the other side took me all of 20 min. to remove the tire and all components, replace and put the tire back on 20 min. !!!! Awesome system the 4wl disks have on that chevy, now if I can just get them to work right.
So what do you think? Should I go talk to the dealer like I said, or do you think it is futile to try and get them to switch this back to a factory setting (If they really done this at all?)

I just wired a few more outlest and ran a new dedicated line out to the garage to service the table saw and a few other short term use items. Although I have never had a mouse in my home I live in all the time, I do have a woods behind me and a field one house over. My dads house next to has mice problems and he was right next to the field.
Point I am getting at is I crawled all thru the rafters of the garage and moved just about evrything that was around the edges of the walls. NO mice dung! This amazes me. How can the house on either side of me have problems and mine does not. (I am not bragging dont get me wrong) What I do think is that mice have a very small travel corridor after the snow fly's. (No real facts just what I think). Around my house I am talking about, I poison heavy in the fall and thru the winter outside my garage as well as in the garage. Just your typical mouse/rat poison that comes in a bucket and is in pellet form. whether this has anything to do with no mice I could not tell you. But for sure they do eat it. Just checked the bags/bait stations in the garage. They have not been touched since Nov. From Sept. 1 till Nov.1 I had to refill the bait stations I made about twice. I know the tree rats in my neighborhood are flourishing so I know they can not and are not eating the poison. (besides they have so much garbage in the cans to eat, I have one that I swear is 5-6 pounds the kids named him. he is a regular feasting in my garbage and I can walk up to him and talk to him) Back on track! When I get a chance to get back up north to my garage and house up there I will check the poison in that garage. This is thie first winter I have had the garage that I have monitered the poison (in and out) If that garage is void of many mice and there is poison still left then I will have to say that the poison right before winter does the job! I will report back in a month or so. (right now its irking me I cant run up there but it is 312 miles one way and I can't justify going up just to go like in years gone by) Believe it or not, this talk about mice has got me waiting with anticipation to check! LOL
(I better get back to work soon or take anouther job! If this is what is exciting me now a day you know I am getting bored) Contract talks just resumed and they are actually speaking to one anouther now! There is a news black out on this but we were told they are taking a 5 day break to regroup (both sides) Sounds like this may be a good thing but who knows?

The reason I installed the temp gauge was when I started using the tractor last winter I was disappointed with the cab heat and wanted to see what the coolant temp was running. The idi engine uses a 160� thermostat but I found the coolant only runs at 138� to 142� in the winter even under load. During the summer it runs at the 160� thermostat setting. This tells me that the radiator fan is supercooling the engine block. This year I cut a piece of aluminum the same size as the rad screen and punched some holes in it to block off the rad and get the coolant temp up. It now runs at 173� gets much better heat and still gets coolant flow through the cylinder head at 160�.
The temp gauge and sensor is a cyberdyne from jc-whitney. it was around $50.00. You can�t read an analog gauge from the seat so I had to go with the digital..
The sensor is 1/8 X 27 NPT using an �R� drill bit.

Just to add more confusion to the mix... My BX starts fine down to near zero temps with being plugged in. However, it does crank a bit slower. BTW, I run Mobil-1 full synthetic 10W30 and I let the glow plugs go for close to 30sec when it is that cold. Thankfully, the temps don't go that low very often or for very long here in N.Va.

I'm going to buy a 7610 hst with a 60" mmm, and turf tread tires. I live in East Tennessee my dealer has quoted a price of 12,500 is this a fair price?<br>
I noticed on some of the other questions that a 60" mmm is going for about $1850.00. Is that what it should sell for?<br>
What should a front end loader for this tractor cost?<br>

Mower has turf tread tires 19.5 hp engine, 5 ft. belly mower, front and rear hyd., and 3 point hitch.<br>
Mower is also in very good shape, run's good, and has good paint. <br>

Keith, any experience with Kubota diesels? I'd like to get a Steiner with a diesel, but i've heard some conflicting viewpoints. The 420 Steiners used 16 h.p. Kubota's that were dogs. Great engine, wrong application. The 430s use a 21 h.p Kubota that some say are great, others say not so great. It's a wonderful engine, but the way it's used in the Steiner robs it of its power for some reason explained to me by an experienced Steiner guy.

By the way, you were right. Both Steiner and Ventrac recommend operating their machines wide open whether it's gas or diesel.

Thanks, well as you said it wasn't to bad , had to remove seat and right fender in order to get lines off the scv valves. I got valve apart and found no broken springs. there are a few little balls that go into the spool shaft that are worn into egg shapes and sorta chewed. and I believe that is my problem. while I got it apart I'm going to check into rebuilds for both the regenerative and float valves as I'm going to need new seals as they both are always a bit damp. hopefully a kit will have all o rings and seals in it. I think I'm going to get power beyond also while it's all apart as the end cap for the set up is already there.

The oriented strandboard board used to be called chip board around here. The difference now (one of many) is they call it oreiented strand because NOW they "orient" the strands or(wood shavings/chips). This gives it a sheet like effect of plywood but enables the use of smaller new growth trees. Along with glue improvements and others it has come a long way. I am learning alot from new searches and found the area of the country the trees come from (specie) makes a big difference also. Sorry go to go, take a kid to a band concert.

Yes, I agree with what you are saying. It is the same here in Texas, I know of several people that vote straight democrat, just because.
