Hello Johnmw,

I have a L3430 and the electronics have been no problem at all. It has been outside since I bought it in May, 2003.
Resetting is very easy, just hold both buttons down for three seconds.

4wd is the only way to go for bucket work. If you do any digging or work in a pit you won't get back out in 2wd.

Tomorrow's the day of reckoning. I must decide whether to purchase the L35 or the L39 for the 2004 tax year. Most people would think it should be an easy decision - buy the L39. However, the L35 is a proven tractor with a great track record.<br>

Art, would you know the height of the new L39? The L35 is 95" inches, it would fit in my 8' garage door. One spec i saw would suggest it is much taller than the L35. Would you know?<br>

By the way, I am purchasing the tractor from White's Farm Supply. Best darn dealer around!!!<br>

I have a 72 inch rear discharge mower and have not had a problem.
I will add that a side discharge mower in high grass does require more hp how much more on a 84 is only a guess.

Loading the R4 tires on mine may overcome the traction problems I have, I wind up digging holes with the tires if I dig too deep.

The Speeco has two options for the top link, a u shaped bracket with an ear on it where the link pin goes through the attachment and connects it to the hitch, it has two holes for adjustment so you can draw the attachment in tight or set it back a bit. The other option is a hook that bolts to the hitch, but I found it to be useless for any of the attachments. The only one I needed to modify was the finish mower, the frame for lifting needed to be moved to the inside of the swivel arms to fit the hitch, all the other attachments fit fine, the tiller is a very snug fit, so it takes just a bit longer to hook up and I need to back into it exactly of else I would have to muscle it into place. The rough cut deck just wouldnt lift high enough for my liking and I decided I didnt want to mess around drilling new holes to lower the lift points on it, other than that all the other king kutter attachments fit fine with no mods.

Do you have the safety switch in the seat? My machine won't move sometimes when I push the pedal then I let off and push again and it goes. It is because of the switch in the seat. If you are sitting off center or on the edge of the seat or if the seat is cold and stiff it does it.I am about to jump the wires to cure it. This time of year where it is always below freezing you have to drive your knee into the center of the seat to soften it and then let your ass warm it up before the switch works. Letting off and then pressing the pedal again resets the safety,another great JD idea. Mine never creeped but I think it is beginning to now that it has a few hours on it. I always use the emegency brake anyway, habit from driving an Allis Chalmer 840 loader for years.

well thanks again for the replies, esp. bigpete that spreader is roughly what I was looking at. if you read this, may i ask what you paid and if this is a "seed" spreader or multi-use/fertilizer spreader by nature. It appears to be a seed spreader.

went to JD dealer today and a "real" sand/salt spreader for the back is about $1400. I am still thinking the seed spreader will do fine if I am careful and clean it out every time, and screen what I put in to sift out any big rocks or clumps of frozen material in the pile. (was thinking of putting a piece of expanded metal grating over the hopper when I fill with the bucket).

Hi everyone, nice to find a 'dedicated' Kubota board. Love my L35 (glide shift) after the upgrade from the B21. Whole different class of unit! So much so I sold the ATV and bought an RTV. Couple of issues with the RTV... 1st, has anyone heard of a way to upgrade the front axle to a locking diff? I don't know how many times I have had to get out the winch line ( when there was something to winch too...) cause one front wheel was dangling in midair, and of course, spinning. 2nd, has anyone tried to increase the traction on ice by using something like short hex head wood screws in the lugs of the tires. Sort of a 'do it yurself' stud job. Or is there a neater solution out there? Had lots of fun inventing stuff to cut down on the cold air inputs to the cab if anyone wants some ideas. Had a great hunting trip in New Brunswick with it! How about an upgrade on power...could use a little in the snow. Blower kits? As in turbocharging...? Great machine. <br>

I might have to sell my JD mod 400 hydrostatic tractor and have no idea of what the fair market value might be. Anyone who might be able to help me establish this would be greatly appreciated. I have a cab mounted on it, a 56 front blade, and a single stage snow thrower attachments. There are less than 400 hours showing on the meter. I have been assured that these are the original hours. I would describe the general condition as good. There is some rusting through on the floor panels due to exposure to the elements. Repairs would not be very difficult. The bare tractor the books say 4000lbs. Add about 800 for the loader and 1000 for the hoe, not getting to exact I'd say to get a 10,000 GVW 18 foot. At that you will be in good shape.
