I HAVE A A&B EAGLE 72 INCH BOX SCRAPER ON MY 790.
I HAVE RIM GUARD IN MY R-4'S AND ON A FLAT GRADE I CAN PULL
A FULL UNIT OF ITEM 4 (PEA STONE)WITH NO PROBLEM IN LOW 1/2. ON THE DRIVE WAY SLOPE 40% GRADE I GO DOWN IT INSTEAD.

My father has a 4310 HST. He recently replaced all the fluids and filters. Since then the tractor is very slow when moving forward, reverse seems to be a bit faster than before the oil change. The FEL, 3 point hitch operate correctly. The oil and filters are factory approved. Has anybody has similar problems?

I'd like to know where that engineer thought too much stress would be put, on the blade or the 3 point arms. I can't believe either since both of my blades can be manually tilted in either direction to dig the tip in to make a shallow trench, much like you could do with a T&T. they can also be angled in either direction and one can be offset.

I am thinking of buying an 855 4wd. My question is will it have enough HP to pull a 6 foot bush hog that is just used to clip pasture? Also, it comes with a 5' belly mower and a front end loader and the price is $5000. It is owned by a friend of mine and I know it has been taken care of. I don't know the hours yet, but it has been used as a lawn mower primarily.<br>

This is a pretty common practice. My father has a 1970 Buick that is fully restored and we just had a friend who is a master rebuilder for a place in stratford CT who rebuilds and maintains vintage race cars. He told us point blan that all his engines hit the dyno and the ero ones especially are brough up to 10k rpm for the break in. He has yet seen one fail after this due to wear. This isn';t a great example because they are race cars and aren't out there for 100,000 miles but he told us to pound on it from day one and change the oil a few times in the first 1,000 miles and it is better to break it in faster because of the same reasons in this website.

Let's get real what new tractor owner is 1/2 throttle for 50 hours? You try to then inch it along before you know it you are at 4/5ths! Lots of old rental machines out there with 4,000 hours still running and they get pounded from day one. I guess it's preference. I don't pound on new stuff but I do change the oil a lot in the early life so I guess I'm on both sides of the fence on this one. AFTER READING THIS LINK AND TALKING TO MY BUDDY WHO IS THE REBUILDER YOU KNOW I'LL BE A LITTLE HIGHER IN THE RPMS WIT THE NEXT ONE! Why not, i'm getting older, why keep it good for the next guy if it does blow up too soon!

I started this thread with a concern of slow response time and now as some threads sometimes do, it has taken on a life of it's own with interesting but unrelated issues.

I feel badly for Dennis the administrator of this site because when everyone posts to this thread the topic of "slow response time...." appears and give TPC a bad image. I rec'd a good response from Dennis and I would like to see this thread die a decent death!

May I make a suggestion? If those posting as to cable speed vs. wireless etc. and all of the interesting technogeek stuff that very few folks on this earth would understand much less care about, start a seperate thread and give Dennis a break?

I hesitated even to post this message, but let's hope this is the last post to this thread.

After a good many Alaskan winters, I would agree that the tank type heaters are the best thing made to warm an engine. Next best are the freeze plug heaters followed by the magnetic/contact heaters.

A magnetic heater coupled with a battery blanket would serve very nicely in the horse latitudes.

I remember you mentioned this a while ago, so I did my homework and found the green mfg to be a perfect fit for 4100-4110 models...no clearance issues at all!!

Found the site through google, and it wasn't working but is now. Nice looking stuff, need to find a dealer local and some pricing. I used a Cat skid steer the other day for a while and then jumped out and got on my machine to finish what I was trying to do with it. I told a friend of mine who was hauling gravel to the job at the time, what a useless piece of steel, no wonder they sell so cheap used, he said yah!!! a motorized dust pan. I think he covered it right there. He does have quit a sence of humor, the other night he called just as my microwave was done cooking and it was beeping. He said, what are you in your truck? I said no it's the microwave, he said what do they put back up alarms on microwaves for?

BA, from someone who is not loyal to any brand, just form and function. I seriously considered NH and demoed several. I know supersteer gives a tighter inside diameter, superior for mowing, even field work, but it adds considerable length to the machine with a loader on. I would be curious to see the OUTSIDE diameter of a supersteer with loader, turning without brakes, compared to the other big 2. NH by far has the worst specs online and in their literature. I have even spoken to NH corporate about it. I couldn't even find the weight of any compact machine, let alone other figures like dimensions. They acknowledged the lack of info but had no idea why it wasn't available and couldn't give it to me. My dealer did have some in his dealer books. I have a suspicion that some or all of the advantage on the inside is eaten up on the outside by the added length.

I have a 2004 model JD for sale on E Bay. It has a backhoe box scraper, brush hog, land scape rake. only has 125 hours on it. Check it out!!! Item number: 3862143323. I been reading the posts on this page for a long time , never thought I would be selling my trusty 790. I am moving to Salem Oregon and will not have any use for the tractor.<br>

tractordata.com is trying but it is best for older models, 1990 and back. They do encourage submissions/corrections I believe

I am taking delivery on a new L3830 in January and spoke with the dealer about the hours on it and he told me to expect about 6 hours on it to accommodate set-up with FEL 753, BH90, and then some testing including a dyno test. Because I live about 110 miles away from this dealer, he wants to make sure everything is to spec to avoid any problems. How many hours are considered normal for a "new" tractor? Being new to larger tractors, I have don't know what to expect for hours. Thanks for the help!

If you are considering doing it yourself or with a local contractor, check out Miracle Truss, and Kentucky Steel buildings, they used a system of trusses rather than I beams and may be easier for the average person. I chose I-beam for price and had local guy build it. I went with a high pitch to match house and garage, not low pitch like an industrial warehouse.
