First let me say that my house is wired correctly for a generator, and not that anyone should do an improper generator hookup, but if you are in a pinch, there is an easy and almost safe way. Make sure you switch off your main 100, 200, or more amp service disconnect first, this protects the power company. Then, just make a double male extention cord that plugs into your generator 240 outlet and also to a 240 welder, compressor, etc. outlet. Make sure the generator output from it's 240 socket is less than or equal to the amp breaker you are back feeding. This lets you choose any circuit in the house to run and isolates you from the power company. It also keeps you from any "rewiring". I use this method at times when I am renovating a house that is not connected to the power company at all.

Since you are in Vermont you should be able to find some snowplow/cutting edge faily easy. I went to the local Fisher<br>
snowplow supply and bought a piece of Hardened cutting edge<br>
for $10.00 per foot, 1/2 in thick. Had the Machine shop punch holes every 8" or so. Sq. holes, then tapered to receive the recessed cutting edge bolt with a sq. shoulder.<br>
I too thought the factory edge was going to be tough to drill as Frank said, but to my surprise I sailed right through with a new 1/2 " bit and a 3/4 drill, and some oil. I did drill a 1/4" pilot hole first.<br>
I clamped the edge on the bucket first to punch mark my holes.<br>
Simple job really,I also let the new edge extend beyond the bucket an inch on both ends to take the abuse.<br>
Try a snowplow repair shop.<br>

I appreciate all your responses. I have learned a lot on this and other tractor sites. I am narrowing my purchase options and want to attempt to get it right the first time. So far I believe I have my choices narrowed to either JD or Kubota (4310 or 3130 but waiting to read more about the new John Deeres) with loader and MMM. When I order I either am going to also order a back hoe or snowblower (can't afford both right now) just can't make up my mind yet and am trying to gain some knowledge first. I think I have a good understanding about the blowers now even though I am still weighing front mount and 3ph. Again- Gracias for your help.

We "express" the glands ourselves when needed. If you have ever done it, you know it isn't a task to look forwrd to. I should say my wife "expresses" the glands as necessary, if we can get to it before they take care of business themselves. I don't have the stomach for it. It took me three diapers to change one.

I ordered a rear work light too, gets dark early. Couple of thoughts. 55 watts seems higher than needed, you are not going 65MPH like a car. My 35 watt factory lights are plenty bright if the fel didn't block them. Anyone ever hear of Billy Worx light brackets. A local dealer sells them and they come in 2"x2" and 2"x3" to mount on roll bars. You add you own lights. I have not seen them yet and was wondering if they are worth the $26 or whatever they cost?

We have just recieved confirmation that we will recieve EPA approved engines in our order of 300 series Jinma Y-395 Tractors,which is due in the USA at the end of January.We are hoping that the Y-385 engine is not far behind.We knew that they had the certification and just was not sure when they would be putting them in the tractors,this engine is a up charge but with all the EPA/customs problems it will be well worth the difference.We will keep you posted on the changes and how they engines run once we recieve them<br>

I remember seeing someone posting a note about adding a temp gauge to the 2210. I would appreciate hearing from individuals that did this and how that they did it, because I would like to add this feature to my machine. If wanted, you can simply email me on the side.

Here in SE Michigan, my dealer wouldn't take my reconditioned 9N for trade for several reasons: Many Ford employees in area who get A-plan discount on tractors drive the cost of used prices way down (On A-plan I saved $3200 on my '03 NH TC33D). He said the "reasonable prices" of new tractors makes them "affordable" so why go with used?. He offered to sell mine on consignment holding back 10%, but siad I would be lucky to get no more than $1800 retail. I sold it later for $2400 (I paid $800 and put $800 into it and used it heavily for a year)

Its even easier on a concrete floor and even without the loader with 10 ton pump jack under the front axle.

Another thing to note is that the BX series are real low to the ground compared to a B series. To use the loader for mulch or other quick projects pinning the loader up is a snap and gives vastly more clearance than a BX.

I have a buddy from another forum who lives quite close to TomG, although they don't know each other it is a very small community, I'll see what I can find out.

Normally just nailing into 7/16" OSB is not going to be enough to hold vinyl siding on or at least not very long especially if you have strong winds. I would think that you would need a little additional framing on the inside of the pole barn. Technically you are suppose to use aluminum nails for vinyl siding as the galvanized will eventually rust and sometimes leave rust streaks down your siding. Everyone uses galvanized nails because the aluminum bend too easy. Just some extra info. I used to sell vinyl siding and windows a while back for Norandex (now owned by Owenings Corning).

I would not scrape any top soil off if you dont need it.
I just done about exactly what you are talking about (Maybe even a pic in my archive I think pic 9 and pic 12) I started with a load or two of pit run (pit gravel about as cheap as it gets for gravel) After leveling it off, Top dress it with some crushed road gravel. As time goes on you will need to re-level but after a season goes past you should be set. One spot was really wet and it worked just fine there.. If its like a quargmire your in for alot of work do what the rest were saying

I had the same thing happen last winter. The oil has to work its way through from the left to the right side and this takes some time, especially if it's cold out and the fluid is thick. You may even have to move it about a bit to help the process. A filler and level plug on both sides would help this.
