Howdy, folks. I've been doing the 50-hour service on my L3130. The stated capacity of the front axle caseis 6.9 US quarts. I put in precisely 56 ounces of Super UDT and it started coming out of the check port.
What's up with this? I'm doing the service on a level surface, my garage. Is the value in the manual incorrect? How much oil should I expect to put in? Am I missing something here?
thanks, bws

Do what you did and trust it. Don't hesitate to re-check it after operating the first time. ....

I had the same thing happen last winter. The oil has to work its way through from the left to the right side and this takes some time, especially if it's cold out and the fluid is thick. You may even have to move it about a bit to help the process. A filler and level plug on both sides would help this.

Ah, so I drove the tractor around and then parked it cross slope so the right wheel was down hill. Left it a while, moved to a level area and added another 102 ounces, for a grand total of 4 qt, 30 oz. So far, anyway.
Thanks, guys. ....
