I have a BX22 for over a year know and love it. I have just under three acres, and if I had a hundred I wouldn't consider it to be big enough. 7800 or 2910 at the very least.

Thanks Ardician, Hey did you weld the chain hooks on? How? I have seen that b4 and they are handy. Can you put a hitch ball on the front of these tractors as well? Pushing boat trailer's around is alot easier as well.

I often like to look at all manufacturers of a given product while initial shopping. When looking at the different makes I do camparisions of specifications that are important to the operation of it for my needs. The numbers here are goals for the best performance overall. Many lawn and garden tractors are in the 30 to 40 lbs per horsepower range. Most compacts run from 60 to 100lbs maximum depending on purpose of use. Large ag far tractors are at 120 to 140 lbs per horsepower and most factory TLB's today are about 150 to 160lbs per horsepower maximum.

The safe operating amperage rating for the welder should be easy to get. Just divide the output of the generator in watts by the output votage for the availabe amperage at either voltage. For instance, a 6500 continuous watt generator will put out 54 amps at 120 volts and 27 amps at 240 volts. Check that against the welder input amperage required.

The output of the welder is rectified into DC voltage. Don't use the amp output of the welder to determine the input current required unless you know the output voltage rating.

Also make sure you know the continuous watt output of the generator. Often, the surge wattage is advertised as the generator capacity. Continuous wattage will be about 75% of surge.

Must be "that time of year" as I also just bought rear lights to install on my 2210 this weekend! Winter is here in Wisconsin and my snowblower got install today at the dealer. Rear lights are a plus at times.

Sounds like I might also find a "pigtail" somewhere under the seat to tie into. I was going to mount two 55 watt lights however now I'm concerned about the current draw from the above posts. Is the alternator on the 2210 big enough to handle both lights or should I cut back to one?

Is there an empty fuse in the panel to link to if I can't find, or don't have, a "pigtail" connection? If not, can I use a in-line fuse with a switch?

Horsepower is never an overriding consideration and IMO should be the last element in your decision!!

Yes I am very pleased with the 7510 I have the rear wheels spread as wide as possible for stability, easy on kubota not so on kioti.

I too have a steep bank to the lakefront see web page, The wide stance is important and I usually turn my hoe arm and bucket uphill while crossing lateraly!!

I just think when you compare all things important you ultimately will go with Kubota! At least I did and am very pleased that I did!! there are some pics under my name which I invite you to see!

I bought a reference book before I purchased my tractor it's called the "Hotline Farm Equipment Guide 2003". It's published annualy by Heartland Ag-Business group so my copy is now dated by 3 years. I have contact info if anyone wants a copy of their own (approx $50.00). It's a 2 volume compendium of tractor specs for all brands and all makes from the 1940's to 2003 together with serial numbers by year and auction prices for used equipment. It also lists info for combines, planters and skid steers amongst others. Its exhaustive, on a particular entry some information is ocasionally absent for whatever reason but generally it's pretty complete, as a FYI the information listed for my JD is as follows (verbatum):

Thanks for the reply. I understand that Orange came out with a smaller hoe attachment this past year...supposedly for the smaller 'B' units, I believe a BH6000 is the model, but don't quote me - suppose to have a 6'(?) reach.
Any word on these as to how they are, remembering that I used to have a BL4520 and a 6500. Do they have the ability for self contained hydraulics off the pto, or are they plumbed off the tractor?

I had the same problem on my BX1500 before the first 50 hr service. The dealer indicated that it was a known problem and took care of it under warrenty. Jimbrown, I wouldn't leave the bracket broken. The vibration of the engine will surely cause fatigue or abrasion failures elsewhere if the air cleaner is not secured. Besides, it should be under warrenty and even if it isn't, any reputable dealer should agree to fix it for free since it is a known design defect. Kubota is very aware of their reputation for quality, they don't want a $5 problem to sour customer relations.

Will they have a floating 60" and 72" mmm, position control on all models, better lighting, electronic cruise control with speed match, and the big question...is the hydro pedal and the brake still on the same side? Just wondering because this is what turned me away from buying orange. They make a great and durable product at a fairly reasonable price. If they have done these few things, they could really capture the market I think. (I was glad to hear that they discontinued the cross-bar on the loader above the fuel cap.)
