I do not recall seeing post on this being a problem but may have missed it. Why will they not replace it? Is it out of warranty by time (not sure how long they warrant in months or even years) or hours either for that matter.

Check with an automotive parts store. Many of them all carry assortments of such type of connections. Do take your current one with you.

FIRST PART HERE: VERY IMPORTANT you could be bypassing safety switch when running jumper wires: you can not be too carefully to be sure tractor is NOT in gear when doing so. Verify and verify again, there have been those killed when any power machine cranks in gear with no one is the seat.

Tombar, in running wire to the starter are you bypassing the starter solenoid? If you are think it is the solenoid.
But to basics: you have check fuses and verified they are fine. So lets begin in the beginning, the battery. Know the battery is fine for running second cable it cranks the engine. But how about the cable connections on the batter itself? The cable you are running how does it connect to the batter, if over the cable clamps that should mean good connection there, but if not then check the clamp you are bypassing.

Now the positive cable, the one you are running jumper for take it loose from the solenoid and clean that connection and oh back to the clamp on the battery end and this end be sure that cable is good inside those ends also.

Battery cables do fail and their connections do corrode and the problem can be hard to see, so remove and look carefully. On any battery cable clamps or ends you remove clean then with wire brush or medium sandpaper. They can glaze off and break the connection.

If not in that be sure power is coming back to the solenoid from the key switch to engage the solenoid. That is easy to test if you do not have any test light or meter, run a hot jumper to that post on the solenoid, if it work then you know.

IF no power is going the post to engage the solenoid from the key switch check all safety switches. If you have meter or test light see if power is to them and through them, check both terminals to see if both have power with key in start position. If one end does and the other does not bad switch or it needs adjusting.

Be careful and relax you will find it. kt

I have experience with your brand of tractor but my guess is the cover plate is either stuck due to sealant or rust or with the wear of it there is groove cut in it the shaft is worn into. Have you tried using smile screw driver or such to run around the shaft to check for clearance?

No idea why I thought your tractor might be gas, brain freeze I guess. My manual does give decent details on priming but I always fill the fuel filters as full as I can, crank and then run it at least say 1500 rpms and it often will keep on running through any air left in there. A good note to know is WD 40 is very good starting fluid for a gas or diesel engine. Remove air filter and use burst of WD 40 while cranking it. Even if air in fuel system it will crank on it and keep using short burst while it is running till it runs steady.
What oil the manual says to use in front end not sure but if had option to use the same as in trans I would. I have a super duty manual transmission in Ford pickup and it uses ATF fluid. The clearance on machined parts is much tighter than years ago.

Do want to share a warning with you or two: hyd oil is running under say about 2,000 psi, be very careful with leaking injecting oil into your skin and cutting you. Also if you have a leak in that system it can drop your transmission level very quickly and give you a costly repair (I had this to happen). Also if not already covered do not run in 4 wheel drive unless on say gravel or dirt. On such as concrete or paved road can damage the four wheel drive system. The front wheels run faster ground speed than the rear wheels so the front wheels needs to be able to do some slipping. be careful and have fun. If you don't have a canopy on the tractor it sure is nice in the sun or rain or in hail. Do not play in lightening.

No doubt the tractor has fuses also. But if you have easy access to the switch then check the terminal there and if power just follow the wires to no power.

It would seem if a different coil was needed the instructions would have given the specs on it. Have you looked carefully to be sure it does not call for a totally different coil?

I recently was surprised an electrical valve did not have instruction on wiring and finally set down and read the full manual. It was after the English and Spanish instructions they showed the wiring instructions since there were drawings with no real words.

The best advice I can give you is to ask others locally how the poles hold up. Here we have high water levels and we see those poles used but not in buildings. For such that can easy be replaced or repaired. Then if rot on the part in the ground is the issue you may can cut it off and still have tall enough poles. kt

Fluid looks good? Let me add to that, since you change the fluid when it gets hot what does the fluid look like? Is it clear or by chance does it show water or air in it?

Is it possible the carburetor is leaking when the engine is not running a little but enough gas is building up in the exhaust system which would be little hard to spot? Would think this would only be issue if the gas tank is higher than the carburetor is.

You may be able to cover with a cloth rag and push the hose end on metal and it open plug enough to release the pressure. But as has been said prevention is best here.kt

My sprayer is not a huge sprayer but boy re-plumbing from roller pump to centrifuge pump has been a challenge. The pump I ended up going with is buily by hpro and it has gearbox to speed up the pump using 540 pto. Dummy me told my wife should take no more than half a day and I have spent at least 4 to 6 hours per day on it for three days and yes I will finish it in a couple more..only have the suction hose to hook to the pump and the boom hoses the electric valves. Then do a test run and pray it all works as it should. Have a field of corn that needs spraying.

I went to basics and took the attitude I have no idea what was issue with my sprayer and read beginning with how to select the right pump which also includes how to figure the gpm you need and realize where an issue I had was coming from, way too little gpm to keep chemicals mixed in my tank. The roller pump I had was not even large enough to just keep the chemicals mixed. Have a 500 gallon tank and I needed from 25 to 50 gallons gpm just to keep the chemicals mixed. Way undersize for that and could not find roller pump for 540 rpms to handle the need. Also was told roller pumps will not hold up to wettable power chemicals if not mixed properly. Look forward to having it up and running at is should. kt

If there are a top shop they will be glad you share this with them and will try to make it right. They will also try to find the problem on their end and fix that. If they are not worthy of the reputation you say they have they will play games or excuses with you. I would tell you share either but do so carefully so not to cause yourself an issue. kt

Watch for wire being picked up and it cutting the bottom seal out of the gear box. Another way it can happen if you get the it way over filled and the vent is not able to allow it to seep out when it heats up can damage the seal.

Now the plate..it slips onto the spline shaft if I am right, correct? First I think you must get it where you can work on it and with the cutter being secure. If you must flip it upside down. Take a good penetrating oil and spray it and keep it wet for a day or two if possible. You may want to take a hammer and keep taping the sleeve that is on the gearbox shaft to help break the rust that is hold it on the spline. If you have torch you would heat the thick sleeve on the stump jumper that is sled on the gear box spline shaft.
You might be able to design a simple puller for this with say a piece of channel iron and large bolts. But heat can be a wonderful helper. kt

Volt meter test for the voltage but it does not test for the capacity or the amp ability. A volt meter is almost noting for a load where your light is at least four amps and likely more. It is sort of like a small diameter water hose, you have pressure but very few gallons per minute. Depending on the light fixture you just need to clean where the mounting bolt is to the tractor. kt
