Depending on your spindle would expect you to be able to find an unit that would fit it. Might require a mounting or adapter plate be made but as has been mentioned local welding/machine shop should have no problem if you are not able to.

I am not familiar with your tractor but some basic questions.
How do you have power to the starter and not the solenoid? Does it not run through the solenoid from the battery to the starter? My guess is the solenoid is on the starter and you have power to it and there is built in link from it to the starter. If so my guess is there is a single wire in the middle of the terminals that is running from the switch to energizer the solenoid pulling the contacts in it together for the path to be completed. If so then see if you are getting power to it when key is in start position. If so would be most likely a bad solenoid. If not getting power there then could be a safety switch issue, wire pulled loose or ignition switch. You could run power to that terminal bypassing all to be sure solenoid and starter are working but and a big but...you be more than certain the tractor is not in gear and then be sure again for you will be bypassing all safety devices and it could crank in gear and kill you.

No idea but have you looked very carefully for a dipstick on the transmission. Under the seat, near the seat, on sides of the transmission near a foot rest or on the back of the transmission. Would expect it to be protected so sort of hidden.

If you have some clamps place it where you think you want it, run the bucket and see how it clears and fits and move as you need to. It no clamps do your best guess and tack weld it and do same testing. Know the size of what you will be mostly lifting if logs then cut you a slice and test the way it fits.

If you have never used a thumb before you will be amazed as how handy they are. If you don't would suggest the use of safety glasses using thumb for that using the machine period as things will snap in there and come flying at you. And you must admit if flies much faster than you can duck, well than this fat boy can.

They are showing in the range of 15,000 pounds lift for cat 3 tractors. I AM NOT saying that is what the 3rd arm will support. It would be hard to believe anyone builds a lift system which the 3rd arm for that cat. would not be sufficient. But you may be wanting to know for another application.

To me the advice given all makes sense. One area auerbach touched on I will say in different words...if you can not afford for the machine to be down, be sure you are getting one parts and other support is very strong and convenient for. If not then pass regardless the brand or the deal.

Greg, the last link you gave has some interesting splitters. As you mentioned on the tank it is either hid or the beam has to be it. How about the splitter that looks a lot like this one but is manual jack? Well that is what it looks like to me in picture.

Aztractor, realize this is not what you asked but there has been many post here about how little you could buy a used self contained splitter for and not have your expensive tractor running for such work. Of course that will vary by region on the price and availability of used splitters.

I am pretty sure on the Ford 601 you push it up to increase the RPM. Would think it would be the same. Funny how you do something from subconscious memory thousands of times but can not be sure.

It is not just off road cabs, roll your windows down on any vehicle and drive down dry dirt road. If the back glass cam be removed it might help.

If the tractor is being used often and not being allowed to sit so condensation will be an issue you will be fine with the change. If you have gas tank you pump from worst case should be use filter on it to block water.

My guess is the wire that has the thumb screw to hold the bowl is weak but for the problem they are if you are not trying to keep it factory look would go with the in line filter and cut off valve.

I know a local shop that was dealer for them. Their phone number is843-358-3590. Suggest you talk with Denny there. They are good people. He did have sources for used parts for Long also. This is in South Carolina about 30 miles from Myrtle Beach. Might want to combine trips for engine and vacation. On serious side, if he has to have it shipped in you might be able to have it shipped directly to you or shop there and save the second shipping charges.

Believe you will find the pto shaft has at least one bad universal joint. You should be able to replace if bad and not the full shaft.

I assume your ag tires are rutting the lawn? If you have not tested them you may be fine. But two other options and neither may work...see what tires fit your rims that offer different tread design. There is more than one design in some tire sizes. Read somewhere once about a person who found a truck (off road) that worked for him. That should save the cost of rims. If your tractor is 4 wheel drive be careful in changing the outside diameter of the tires.

Okay, the pto does rotate counter clock wise? It would make sense a cutter with double edge flat blades could cut either direction. Would think the gear box would be fine. Do know people here on a certain brand hyd driven cutter will switch the hoses to wear both sides of those flat blades with no problem.

Does this tractor have the selector on the hyd to select either the remote or the 3 pth? MF used that set up on many of their tractors and I think some 283s also. They did this at it cost less than their other system which supplied fluid to both. If you do you could have the lever bumped where it is between them causing poor flow to both.
