Ken the problem is not likely to be with the pump but the danger of too large a breaker for the 120 outlet. 120 outlets are rated at most 20 amps and should be protected by a 20 amp breaker or fuse. That is if the wire to the pump is three conductor wire but code probably will not like it if they were to check it.

I could go on but will tell you in my part of the world...as Jeffery will say the slow south, there are many a pump wired for the heat we need as you are talking about.

Do you have any idea if your linkage is adjusted correctly? Does these two gears use the same shift slot? Could there be trash or such in it to prevent full shifting?

You would do well to give details about where or what is leaking or the best you can tell. Does it leak when cut off or only when using the steering?

On much smaller acreage scale but many more tree count, I am near finishing what you are beginning.

A lot depends on the size of the stumps and tops left. Do you have to remove the stumps or you just want to. How are you planning on using this land? What kind of time table do you have?

If you will be replanting the stumps my be fine to leave and so may tops if you can cut them flat to rot. If you want this for pasture then the tops need to go and stumps might be okay to allow to rot. If crop land then all must go along with roots (major ones any way). Again depending on your use some will pile the tops and allow them to rot or to burn. Tops normally are good to burn but stumps can be real problem getting them to.

100 tops over 35 acres is not many tops only about 3 per acre. Depending on the size of them you might could take tractor and just pull them into a much smaller area and then bring in equipment to mulch or pile for burning or even to saw them and pile for burning. (my suggestion) Depending on the size and type of tree an excavator with a thumb on it would work great for such work and often will break such as tops to save need for sawing.

I'd make up my mind what I need done and get me at least two prices on it. If you have only 100 tops to deal with and are able to pull them near each other an excavator (with thumb) in a day should do what you want in piling for burning.

No expect here but have about same size with HST also. My use has been in about same range as AbbasChild. Then mine idles about a 1,000 RPM it seems and it would never enter my mind to drive it at that engine range other than just to creep up or back for hooking up.

Auerbach, I don't know how long diesel with no conditioner takes to gel but it will. Doubt it would say in a few months IF FRESH when bought. My brother caused himself a lot of headaches when he poured some about year old fuel into his tractor.

I bought about 75 gallons the last time I bought more than 20 and had to use about 4 filters on that fuel and pumped it within two weeks. Thank goodness for good pump filter system I have. Good friend of mine who did rebuild diesel injector pumps told me to buy fuel from where they sell fuel. Made sense but he went into detail he meant sells it enough they keep fresh fuel.

No idea in your area but horse people have taken it on the chin in my world the last couple of years with some giving their horses away as they could not sell them. You might find the used market to be good. Word of caution, be careful with auction unless you can control your emotions. Easy to pay more there than buying new.

I am not sure if I asked for help on this here a year or more back but regardless: had computer display on mini excavator that gave me real head aches. If it did not display the controls would not work and often it would not display correctly when first cranked if cold. Asked heavy equipment people and no one had real idea other than new computer display which had just been replaced by Volvo before I bought the machine (my guess for same reason).<br>

So this summer had to replace the battery. Guess what that problem was solved. The best guess I and my tractor person had was voltage was lower in the old battery than the computer needed to operate properly and it was not the engine getting warm but the battery getting charged enough for voltage to hold at level needed. It was not due to disconnecting the battery as it has battery disconnect on it and that was always used when leaving the machine.

Frank, we are having more and more farms popping up for sale. Too many for me. Boy your land rents a lot more than here, I rented ours the last two years for either $20 or $25 per acre. Then our yields are lower than yours by a good bit but the math may work better here with the rent difference.

Easygo: on the gear boxes are they all together such as transmission and rear end or do you mean front axle and rear end? If the later you will have to drain and fill separately. If the first my guess is single drain and fill. If you must do separately then there will have to be separate fill and dip stick or what ever method they use to check the oil level. As to what fluid you need no idea.

For turning the soil would certainly prefer the manual transmission. For cultivating might prefer the hydo for the speed issue mentioned also might be very nice when turning around at ends of rows. But what I don't like a hydo on is a sprayer. To me getting sprayer calibrated is hard enough with a manual transmission where you have the ability to fine tune the travel speed with some engine speed change. For me very hard to do with hydo trans.

Frank you are very right about the "old" folks liking the coast. Kill Devil Hills is much nearer to Virginia than SC. It is very near Kitty Hawk. That area is loved by hurricanes. Suppose to be great fishing there.

Murf recommendation on the chain has benefit as he pointed out. The one or two things I would say to watch for if you do that, be sure the chain if fully slack clears the pto shaft and the one that caused me an issue realize if the back of the mower gets picked up a lot such as backing up a slope or possibly driving over something, and the pto shaft gets pushed enough you end up with damage to the mower gearbox or the tractor or shaft. I know, shoved the shaft on my small Kubota causing issues with the front PTO operation. I will quickly state the movement he is talking about can be very nice
The other issue Murf address is about how light the front end can become even to the point of not having enough weight to steer especially at highway speeds. That can be dangerous. Then memory said he has front end loader so doubt that will be an issue.

Well looking at Kubota's web site have one question for you, what kind of transmission do you have? The way I read their site with the manual trans think the dealer is wrong. BUT, I could be misreading it.

Just to let you all know we made it. Cold wind blew from ole Jeff but the country boy did survive. My son in law was some more bundled up due to the wind as it felt like off of ice. Knew I could count on your support!

NAPA and meeting specs: just realize all companies don't have the same specs. You really need to know your machine specs as even they change with a brand or model over time.
